- After Scott and Kate Johansen (Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler) lose their daughter Alex’s college fund, they become desperate to earn it back so she can pursue her dream of attending a university. With the help of their neighbor Frank (Jason Mantzoukas), they decide to start an illegal casino in the basement of his house.
The comedy “The House” also stars Ryan Simpkins (“Arcadia”) as Scott and Kate’s college hopeful daughter, Alex, along with popular comedic actors Nick Kroll (“Vacation,” TV’s “Kroll Show”), Jessie Ennis (TV’s “Veep” and “Better Call Saul”), Rob Huebel (“Horrible Bosses 2,” TV’s “Transparent”) and Cedric Yarbrough (TV’s “Reno 911!”).
Andrew Jay Cohen makes his feature film directorial debut with “The House,” from a script he wrote with Brendan O’Brien, his writing partner on the hit comedies “Neighbors” and “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.” Nathan Kahane and Joseph Drake are producing, along with Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Jessica Elbaum, Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien. The executive producers are Spencer Wong, Chris Henchy, and Marc S. Fischer.

I'm must be honest, is for the first time I watched the preview of THE BLACK MASS and I was blown away for the fact that is BASED ON A TRUE STORY.

There is hierarchy of moral value that I would base any decision to break a law. If my child was late to a friend's birthday party or a date, especially if they didn't get ready in time, I'm not going to break the speed limit to get them there on time.
Oh the other hand, if my child is suffering from a life or limb serious injury, its pedal to the metal time, to get them to the ER, even if I have a squadron of state troopers on my tail with lights flashing.
I sure would not engage in a gambling or pimping business so my kids
could go to college to learn how to make the world a better place--Isn't
that rather morally counterproductive? Like Breaking Bad, manufacturing drugs that destroy people's lives just so I can provide for my family?
