- We'll be taking an in dept look on how to beat the Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind DLC. This time around is against Dark Riku! Riku's replica from Chain of Memories!

Cody Moran His DM makes him worse. He doesn’t have a complete set pattern on when he’ll do it and once he does it, you’re dead.

I defeated young xehanort by counting how many times he used to teleport before attack, the only part that could called hard is getting the right idea to how counter his time stop after losing great part of his Hp.
I had a hard time to defeat this Riku on Kingdom Hearts 1, but here even watching some pros playing and defeating him no damage sound a but difficult to block on the right time :(
This fight gives me PTSD to KH1.
The writers of a guide who told me that Riku was the easiest data battle are more evil than Xehanort himself

0:46 - Corridor of mines (chance)
1:18 - Circle of mines above attack (chance)
1:45 - Circle of mines shield assault (chance)
2:40 - shielded red slash (chance)

The fact the world record speed run for KH1 is about 2hr 10minutes, i JUST beat this fight on critical AFTER 2 hours. Bruh, i could’ve played the entirety of KH1 in that time smh lol... thanks for the guide, really helped

For anyone still struggling with this one: Don't forget your shotlock. If you have Ultima, especially don't forget your shotlock. If you get the timing right, you can deplete 2 health bars just with 1 shotlock if you are lvl 99. (only beaten dark riku in critical mode so far though so I don't know if he'll take the same damage on other difficulties)

I beat him in the end but this fight is just an overall button mashing nightmare. The enemy has NO pattern whatsoever and there in no learning curve to the fight. You just desperately hope to kill him before it kills you. It's not even funny...
It is to an extent but the worst part about him is if you mash too much you get punished, terranort does this too.. too many attacks, revenge value/retaliation. Too many blocks pressed their attacks land precisely after. Yet they’re coming at you like a bat out of hell its such a mental game trying to be calm and smooth trying to fight a magical ufc fighter on meth 😂
@@AustinSaysWurddfor Terranort it is a simple pattern actually. He has only 3 types of attacks in phase 1 and 2 with only his DM being hard.
@@slayer4932 I can handle Terranort quite well he’s definitely easier to read move wise but sneaks on me occasionally his revenge value is weird though. Dark Riku on the other hand not so much, especially trying to do no damage runs, its rage inducing lmfao
@@AustinSaysWurdd I thought Riku replica was gonna break me and make me use the HP regen EZ code and disable second chance to not make it so you arent in GOD mode. Suprisingly I managed to beat him. In general for all these fights i stock up on Elixars and on DMs I use links. Most of these bosses DMs are pretty bs and have either aoe and projectile spam or unblockable attacks. Personally I wouldnt use links too if there was say an EZ code that removes MP recharge. So its like its completley legit. All I got now are Marluxia, Siax, and Xemnas before unlocking Xion and Master Xehanort. For sure Xemnas will be my breaking point. I hate the fact that reversal isnt implemented in that boss to avoid the thorns.
@slayer4932 yea lol Dark Riku is the worst imo I’ve completed the whole thing even with pro codes which makes my anxiety go through the roof cause the one pro code makes your hp slowly deplete... elixers are a must. My method was reading their moves and getting a round or two of combos in on them and then going for a shot lock with ultima weapon and switching keyblades for form changes and grand magic to stack up. Marluxia can be a pain but Saix ain’t that bad, best of luck on Xemnas, Xion, and Xehanort they are very tough and their DMs are freakin nuts. With Xemnas it’s a lot like KH2 but some lasers can’t be guarded so you have to dodge roll immediately after blocking you’ll know when cause the dome will flash the other two require flowmotion like crazy as for Master Xehanorts dm just summon Ariel and you can cheese it

He’s tough but I still to this day swear that red lightning has a mind of its own. I’ve had him stunned in a combo and the lightning randomly happens as I’m wailing on him like I firmly believe the lightning is OD and makes this fight such a pain and a gamble

I'm still working on a Crit (level 71 with the goal of 99) and Dark Riku's my last before Xion & Xehanort.
That was so thorough and informative. I'm trying this with pro codes on critical for the achievement and this was the only helpful video I could find even though you clearly aren't on critical lol. thank you!
Even if its not critical mode going step by step on his (as well as the rest of the data organization) move sets and patterns sure dose help alot
Idk why every guide says Dark riku is the easiest limit cut boss. Dark riku is RELENTLESS and chaotic, which makes it hard, but i gotta admit his moveset is pretty simple and easy to counter as long as you manage to keep your cool and pay attention.
Imo Luxord was the easiest by a long shot. All you had to do is figure out his two standard games and his DM move game.
The ring of cards he does: Just hit the ones with the circle and he will be open for hits.
He asks you to find him: try to follow his card around with your eyes, but if you can't, you can still find cards with a circle and destroy those until he reveals himself and becomes open for hits again.
DM move?: press triangle on luxord's card when you find it, and make sure to dodge the cards that fly upwards. That's the DM and if you succeed he will be open for a HUGE combo.
Additional tips: Block all of the cards he's throwing, since that will make it easier for you to find him with the second game i was talking about, since there's less cards on the ground.
And finally when two cards sandwich you, you can either dodge just before they're about to hit, or if you're really struggling you can use the magic displayed on the cards, which is thunder for the most part.
That's literally all you need to do for Luxord. He's easy as fuck

Riku's attacks are supposed to be blockable and yet even though I press block more than attack it never blocks any of it. And somehow this is supposed to be the easiest limit cut fight.
You are probably missing the timing or spamming block, other than that the mines cannot be blocked so take that into consideration too
I never heard that Riku is the easiest fight and I wouldn't agree anyways. The easiest fight for me was (to my own surprise) Young Xehanort (so far, I still miss Marluxia, Larxene, Luxord, Xion and Master Xehanort)

4:00 He's not unstoppable and you can do more than just block. You can knock him out of that move fairly easily.

Thank you. Your videos are great and you are quite the gamer! Are you using the Kingdom Key in all those battles? I'm level 99 but I don't think the main story, etc. really prepares you for these battles. I miss the coliseum in KH1 and KH2 because some of those bosses helped you hone your skills. Have you ever thought about a series of videos to teach some of your techniques? I'm an older gamer and don't have the reflexes (a bit of masher) but want to emulate your sizzling gameplay.
Thanks for the compliments! I do use the Kingdom Key in all battles since it's one of my favorites. Not sure how I could make videos about getting better since I truly do not know how to explain how I do it but you are right this game does not prepare you for this battles unlike KH1 and KH2. People were complaining that the game was too easy so they made this extra bosses to satisfy long time fans. Only advice I can think of is to be patient, I explain this in some of my other videos and since this were some of my first videos for my CZcams I do feel they could be somewhat better in some sections. I hope my other videos help you beat the game!

I tried to avoid using EZ codes on my critical playthrough. All I got through every boss with the only ones left is Riku replica, Marluxia, Siax, Xemnas, Xion and Master Xehanort. But Riku replica might be the one to break me. Still fighting them mostly legit tho. Just disabling second chance and enabling ez code hp regen. Imo there should have been a no MP recharge ez code so people like me only will use a tiny bit of help for extra healing. Instead of full help like HP regen.
I know I’m like super late but I just found out that well timed firaga can catch Riku off guard during the hallway of mines and thundaga can destroy the mines riku creates

This fight was just chaos incarnate I swear! He's so random in what he chooses to do. Had a few attempts end immediately because he started it off with his desperation move -_-
I say this as someone playing this on critical mode and who had to fight this monstrosity....... He was fairly easy thanks to this video (i beat him a while ago tbf) dare I say one of the easiest data bosses in the dlc welp either way thanks for the help man ive been using all your vids for fighting all of them and you've been a great help (especially with Marluxa) so thanks

Dark Riku is the living prove that devs dont actually play their game, cause this guy on critical is a nigthmare, everytime u heal or press x, u get punished and ur healthbar goes from 100 to 1, is a role play of victim simulator

It's only super easy because you spent like 30 hours on him.
Whenever he drops from above with the circle of mines and I block, then counter. He still hits me right after X_X why cant any of these guides be 100% similar to my gameplay. Pro codes achievement sucks ass.
I'm doing the same achievement, and yes, they suck. The patterns are not different than what Pedro shows here, but on Pro Codes, you have much less options during the fights. These videos are awesome, Pedro explains every move and counte brilliantly. However, I'd suggest that after watching them, search for videos that do these fights with all Pro Codes (some crazy people even do them at Level One taking no damage). I'm doing this and I'm only 3 fights away to get it so hang in there my dude
