Brilliant video, can we buy the exact pack you had? I can’t see it on their website
Betty, Bluey, Beverly, Beatrice, Bathsheba a few names that you might fancy.
Legend has it that if you ever find yourself broken down stranded in the middle of nowhere, such as a desert, pull out a cloth and start polishing your car, before you know it you'll be swamped by a crown of people telling you your doing it wrong 😅
...and letting you know "you can do mine next" lol :)
Truly impressive, Lucy and George. That was honest hard work; no tricks, just sleeves-rolled-up persistence. Most admirable!
First rule of detailing. Never wash a car in hot weather. The products dry too fast.
Main thing my dad always tells me.
It made things a lot harder that's for sure!
Did mine in the sun last weekend, sometimes it can’t be helped, if that’s the only free time you’ve got, it has to be done in the sun, or not at all, I chose to do mine but keep a hose or pressure washer at hand, to keep the car wet
No circles and proceeds to rub in circle motions!
What’s the second rule of fight club…… sorry…..detailing?
Love the CSI in the garage😍👌😎
Please do a video on that bad boy please lucy.
I'm on it!
What a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning, watching Lucy with some snow foam 😊 The 6 series in the background is gorgeous by the way xx
Looks great, silver wheels would make it pop.
BIG BLUE BETTY is looking better now, well done Lucy and George.
Its the change with the seat that makes the big impression on me
Best part of any JLR product.... The paint and hard lacquer.. well done you two, brave doing in that heat and full sun.
Great video. Shows how much of an improvement can be made on a driveway. I'd be over the moon getting a range done in a day inside and out. I spent over 9 hours just doing the outside of my partners Tiguan!
I did the same sort of thing on a black car a couple of weeks ago (granted in a shaded garage) but the transformation is well worth the effort.... well done for doing it yourselves, alot of people hand this stuff over to the detailing gurus (who are amazing) but good to show you can get results from a bit of graft.
It was a long old day but it felt good to do it ourselves!
Firstly, definitely do some wheels on your Dad's 6er.
Secondly, i highly recommend a decent snowfoam cannon and short gun, it changes the wash experience and ergonomics significantly.
If you have to wash in the heat you are often better to rinse as you go during the contact wash, to stop the product drying on the panel
9 hours in the baking sun but the results speak for themselves, car looks great !! Maybe a little sun cream for the back & shoulders !! Think it's great you spend so much care & attention on your car as I do as I never see any of my neighbours so much as get out a bucket & sponge ! I find the whole detailing process thoroughly enjoyable & satisfying, maybe a video on the csi please Lucy.x
Hi, it's looks great but the wheels need to be changed to silver ones
I love how all the experts come together to all give great advice
Well done, great job. Fair play to you 9 hrs in the hot sunshine. The car looks fabulous. IMHO the car would look good as new with silver wheels. The car is a credit to you both .
Full-on dad moment... "Get in that house and cover up, have you seen how red you've gone?" Redheads = Almost a vampire ;)
Really great effort especially as you were doing stuff like clay barring and machine polishing for the first time (I'm still scared of those 2 processes). Hope you have plenty of After Sun!!
Thanks! I was slightly intimidated but I'd be way more confident next time!
Great results Lucy, lot's of hard work but totally worth it in the end.
Some would say just take it to a professional but then you wouldn't have the satisfaction of knowing that you accomplished it on your own ... or the sunburn that was a brighter red than your father's BMW!
Great job Lucy she looks amazing. As for a name it’s got to be Bell or Belle as in Bluebell
I like it!
Love the effort and enthusiasm you’ve put in here. You would benefit from a detailing course I think as some of the processes are a little “off”. You have understood the basics of detailing though.
I watched this and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've watched lots of detailing videos in the past on brand new top of the range cars with fantastic paint finishes that did not need detailing, that proved nothing.
This was welcome and different in that yours is an older car that had been lived in and used, with genuine filth and dirt. The products were shown to be highly effective but also reflected the genuine manual effort required to get the car to the excellent standard we saw at the end, 9+ hours and painful sunburn.
Great effort, superb video, thank you.
for future ref, its best to not rinse it before snow foaming it, the foam is supposed to loosen the grime but can't when car is wet as it just runs off the water as you can see at 5:39
Really useful, simple and informative. Thank you.
I hope you take this video as a how NOT to do anything they did 🤣
Wheels and wheel aches first, clay the car while it’s still wet.
I’d never wash is car in that heat due to water etching and I use a water filter with my jet wash. No real point in ceramic coating a car unless the machine polishing work is perfect, with the removal of all imperfections.
I enjoyed the video even though it sent my OCD into overdrive 😂😂
I hear you bro 👊🏻 and my thoughts exactly. My OCD going through the roof here.
She literally did everything wrong. I can't believe Gtechniq would let their products be shown in such a way.
Bella 🙂 Amazing job, well done both. Really impressed with how the seats have turned out.
I've never enjoyed watching a car detail video as much as this one.
Factor 50 is a good product too?
Nice video..thanks. 👍🏻
I wish someone had taught you how to use a cloth though Lucy!! Always use a flat pad and rotate the cloth regularly to avoid using the dirty part again! Basics of cleaning that
Ignore all detailing police, absolutely brilliant job and the car is looking much better than before. Well done 👍.
Looks imposing & majestic, fantastic job & the interior products breezed through the old grime…i will confess i did snigger at ‘seamen’…😊
Me too 😂
Hi Lucy, with the DA Polisher, I would get that handle off and use the rubber bit at the end, much easier to handle the machine and control it. Also, when putting the product on, no need to spread it, simply apply pea sized amounts to the pad and then dab it on to the surface before starting the machine. Excellent job though, we all learn from hours upon hours of cleaning and detailing.
Name suggestion, Ellie after L323 ? love the video, my L322 is having a full showroom detail at the end of August and wheel refurb.
Our 330e is Ellie (for electric😂)
@@LucyOnCars what about Tutu then ? 🤣
Well done - that took a lot of effort but it's looking really good now! AG bumper and trim gel should help with windscreen wipers + black trims around windows etc.
Your almost pros hey. omg thanks for the tips. My fav was using a pad smaller than your backing plate on your polisher so it destroys everything.Omg love the tip of quick and drag the polisher it worked well by the looks of the swirls and omg love when you spray chemicals everywhere AFTER you've just applied a ceramic coat that hasnt cured yet. Such a smart video can't wait for more.....😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh Lucy I’ve just mashed a dog shit into my footwell. You’ve inspired me to finally clean it
Happy to be of service 😄
Great work. Some ceramic coating on you before going in the sun would have helped :P
Haha true!
She knows what she is doing
Looks amazing, well done on the hard work! Call her BlueBell!
Definitely a video on the 6
Lovin' the videos Lucy... !! 💪💪 Top Gear could learn a thing or two... !! 😍😍🙏🙏
A+ for effort, B for method 😂. Tips for next time - do the wheels and arches 1st, do the mossy bits, grills, badges with the brush when you snow foam it, clay bar and polish in the shade or indoors if you can. But the results matter the most and thats looking showroom ready
OMG! That Beemer 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
When doing the headlights, mask the surrounding paint work and lift the bonnet to avoid burning through the paint work, or if you can be arsed, remove the headlight and seal it with wax, clear coat or sealant to slow the oxidation.
As a good Celt you need to be using sun cream...🧐
Enjoying your content.
Thanks for the tips!
@@LucyOnCars I have an ML W164 and I have spent a fortune putting it right in the last 12 months. A completely illogical decision to have poured so much money into it but that's what you do.
By the way, try to prioritise dealing with the rust 👍🏻
Won't lie. I only watched to see this beautiful woman once again! Just gorgeous!
BLUEY is very on trend right now, love youd dads 6 series. Had one back in the day and still my all time favourite BMW
Different Range Rover now looks stunning the blue is stunning I once had a car in that colour it's one of the best forget wraps . Lot of work paid off . Yours dads car is something else never seen one as nice as that .
Good effort doing all that in the sun, especially attempting to ceramic coat it out there haha
Just a tip! Do a criss cross pattern when machine polishing. You'll get a much better finish and it would reduce producing swirls once finished
Well done for tackling this cleaning, polishing etc. The only thing that i would say is that it may be best to put masking tape on trims that may get marked by the DA machine and i would remove the wheels to get them really clean and allow you to clean the suspension and wheel arches.
You did an amazing job, fair play for doing it in that heat too, must have been absolutely knackered after that!
Regarding headlights, after polishing, you need to protect them, otherwise they will just go yellow/hazy again after a week or two. You can use the ceramic coating stuff on the headlights. Perhaps give them another once over with the polish, use the panel wipe on them, then the ceramic coating, should be good for a long time then
God that’s some sunburn hope it doesn’t peel for you. Nice result on the car especially the seat
No peeling so far, lots of aftersun😂
Welcome to our Aussie temperatures on a mild day. Hehe
Nice job.
*New Subscriber* : That was great ! Real world, practical demonstration of something we've all seen the pros do. Those seats really transformed !! All the best and greetings from Prague. CZ
Love your dad's BMW, an absolute classic sports car. 😊😊😊😊
I thought I may have got a shout out for suggesting "Bella". 😉
Hey Lucy, which pressure washer are you using and the products that you’re cleaning your car with please?
Car looks amazing I hope you’re sunburn is not too bad
Came out very well, can’t always do anything about the sun I use a gazebo if I have the space but sometimes you just don’t have the room
Thats a massive difference like, well done
Great video ,you can't always do things in perfect weather you just have to work what you have.
Great video Lucy, we've picked up lots of hints and tips for cleaning our two vehicles.
PS - hope the sunburn calmed down quickly!
Em
You HAVE to review the E24!!!!!!!
Excellent video and very informative. Hope you didn't get too singed.
By the look of your back, you should call her Bernie - as in SunBernie😂 ouch!
Lucy, I absolutely love the dark blue metallic paint especially with the cream leather interior. I also always wanted to own a 2005 to 2008Jag XJ in the same colour scheme 😊
Looks lovely and nothing to do with the car but hell you caught the sun 😂
The alloy wheel brush technique was the highlight...
Yes it’s gonna look even better Lucy!! 😊
That’s. Great leather cleaner and all those products ,i think you going to have sore back Lucy ,but a brilliant job.well done
Very nice yard setup with that electric gate and extra metal (?) garage there Lucy
What leather cleaner did you use on the seats? It did an incredible job
Hi Lucy, may I ask what product you used to do the seats please, I have an Orkney grey RR with same cream interior which could do with a spruce up and yours came up a treat, many thanks xx
Brave doing it in the sun
Brilliant vid youve given every detailer heart palpitations but fair play your car do it your way
That is popping - very well done 👏
I had one exact same colour , best cars when their working
Nice colour, you could call it Angie taking Range removing the R and adding the I ,great work enjoying the Channel..
Could have used larger brushes for door panels and seat cleaning. And also a 1inch polishing pad for crevices. It still has very nice detailing!
Hi is that your m635csi in your garage? Wow. Where did you buy this from? How long have you had that for?
Ninja scrub pad are excellent for applying leather cleaning products on seats/ headrests 👍
Great video lucy. Call her bertie lol. Brill job. Keep the videos coming ❤
Wow you’ve got a 633 CSi 👀
That looks soooo good. I think I can feel the radiation of your sunburn from here though 😂
Mask the paintwork before polishing the headlights...
And yes please do the 6 series review...
Great - love that you aint freaking out over the detail
Great video enjoyed it blue betsy looks fantastic
Well done guy's especially Lucy being brave enough to machine polish! Looks so much better, the only b name I can think of is Baldrick lol maybe should be" beauty"
Baldrick is not exactly what I had in mind 😂
Lucy you did a marvellous job 👌nice video, glad you’re looking after your Rangey 👏
Wow looks amazing and the hard work has paid off, I got sunburnt watching this video 😂
Gtechniq are brilliant. Don’t forget 2 coats of EXO after the crystal serum.
Great job Lucy and George. It was a long day for you, but the results are amazing 🤩 You've spurred me on to do my L322 soon now.
Good luck!
Of course we want a video on the 635CSi!!!? 😂
Amazing transformation, really pops now the bodywork
Good wee video I learned some stuff for my new Golf Gti
Car came up a treat hope you had sun screen/cream on lucy p.s love the daisy dukes :)
Washing a car in bright sunlight is normally advised against and the use of masking tape is handy for masking the paint around the headlight. Or, lift the bonnet up.
Lift the bonnet up - genius! Why didn't I think of that...
Cracking job, you are 95% of a professional detailer as far as I can see! You can be super proud!
Please, please Lucy's Dad, can she drive the 628 on the channel. For some reason, all generations of the 6-Series are cars I love, and that is a beautiful thing.
There's something satisfying about seeing a car when it's ACTUALLY clean, rather than just hosed down.
Now it's clean and we can see how bright the paint it, for me the dark wheels look even more wrong. It'll definitely look better with silver wheels.
Hi Lucy amazing video as always. I just sold my l322 sadly and have a few spare parts left over. If you need them for your car just drop me a message
Keep up the great work
Thanks! I'll let you know :)
@@LucyOnCars thanks so much. Look forward to hearing from you.
