NO ONE Can Stop Domantas Sabonis Right Now...

- No one in the NBA has had a better start to 2024 than Kings big man Domantas Sabonis. He's been putting up prime Hakeem Olajuwon numbers since we hit the new year. In five games so far in 2024, Sabonis is putting up 25 points, 15 rebounds, 9 assists and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 64% from the field and 75% from three. He clearly heard the noise about guys like Alperen Sengun, Bam Adebayo, and Rudy Gobert fighting to take the third best center spot in the league away from him, and had to take his game to the next level. Right now he’s playing closer to the Jokic/Embiid tier than the Bam, Rudy, Sengun tier. He’s just performing at a historically good level right now. The duo of he and De’Aaron Fox might just be the best duo in the league this season, as both have leveled up from last year, and Fox is averaging 28 points and 6 assists so far. Before Tuesday’s game against the Pistons, Jalen Duren was asked what it’s like to guard Sabonis, to which he said “It’s not that hard”. Sabonis took that personally, and had his best game of the year so far, dropping 37 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds in the victory. He shot 76% from the field, and Duren didn’t slow him down at all. In the past, Sabonis hasn’t been a big time scorer, but it seems like there’s a shift taking place in his mentality, and he’s focusing on getting his own more, as well as setting up others. Which makes him extremely dangerous. For the season now, Sabonis is averaging 19.7 points, a league-leading 12.8 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game. According to basketball reference, only three other players have ever put up those numbers or better, Oscar Robertson in 1961, Wilt Chamberlain in 1966, and Nikola Jokic in 2022. Two out of those three players were MVP, and Oscar was first team all-nba. He’s having a special season so far, and people aren’t quite appreciating how great it is. No one can stop Domantas Sabonis right now.

I know they got their love for foreign players, so you would think they would at least hype sabonis, whos father is an nba legend. And with fox they don't even gaf to promote him, i think a lot of his popularity comes from college, 2k and curry fans
Scoring shift with Domas and DeAaron has been due to inconsistent scoring at the 2-4 spots, all season. The crazy part is his assist numbers have gone up despite worse scoring from his teammates. He's the best rebounder in the NBA and has been for several years.

For some reason so much hate still coming for Sabonis,I don't know how many more records he need to set and how many more perfect games he need to have to make those haters finally shut they mouth . I'm personally think that in the next couple years Sabonis will become best nba player ever ..
I feel like the numbers you said in the beginning are like what jokic could and has come very close to averaging for an entire season in 22-23
The only problem is that Kigns are 23-18 in this moment and 7th on west, so as long they are that low people would not notice Sabonis

The whole team did good against the kings, it ain't just sengun, same as the pelicans, they just have the people to stop the kings. Do you think Jonas valancuinas is better even tho domantas wins his matchup with him even if the pelicans are blasting tf outta the kings?
