OEM DC5 Type R Wing + Mini Deck Lid Install On My Red Rsx Type S!

- Today I did a how to type video of me installing a OEM DC5 Type R/A-Spec high wing as well as an ebay mini deck lid. The install was pretty simple but definitely a scary one as you have to drill holes in your hatch. The ebay mini decklid came paint matched and it all matched up and installed great. Id recommend going with the oem wing as well as the oem mini deck lid but its hard to find an oem deck lid. Any questions always leave a comment ill be happy to answer any questions. Welcome to the Illusive RSX channel, my name is Nick. I own 2 Rsx's a Silver '06 Base 5 speed manual and a Red '05 Type S. The silver rsx is my daily while the red rsx is my project. I was gifted my silver rsx for my birthday 3 years ago from my brother. My red rsx I just bought from Florida in July of 2022. We drove 20 hours from Wisconsin to Tampa, Florida and the 20 hours back with the car. With that being said I store my red rsx for the Wisconsin winter to preserve its mint Florida condition. This channel will mainly be about the red rsx but during winter I wont be driving it.

Yeah that's the only site I could find it on. Site has bad reviews and have read there mini deck lids are not actually compatible with the Type R spoiler

Noticing you called the old deck lid “high rasier wing” and the mini deck lid a “deck lid”. They’re both deck lids just one is longer and one is shorter for the wing

Hey the part number for the real under de mini deck lid seem to be wrong. Im looking to find something to seal the hole (x6) could you help ?
The seals for the holes are in the description: 90851-sj4-000
I'm getting ready to do this install in the upcoming week. I have the aftermarket deck lid and the Type-R wing. I think that I have everything needed to complete the much anticipated install. I just ordered M6-1.0x10mm screws to install the aftermarket deck lid. I have a hole punch as well. What is the first drill bit I need to use etc? 1/8 and then what?
Just follow along with what I did in the video. Don't remember the size I started with but it worked well. Also this install was for an oem type r wing so if it's aftermarket you gotta install based on how ur wing is made

I couldn't find them either. I can try to look into it more but even looking it up I couldn't find it. I'd recommend checking out the forums. They potentially don't sell them anymore. My oem struts have been good so far. I'd recommend just buying a new set if ur having problems
Where did you get the high rise wing?
Mentioned it in the video also watch my other video earlier in the series where I go over and say where everything is from.
I bought it from ebay. It was oem obviously. There's a lot out there just make sure you buy them with all 4 Studs attached still as they are common to be broken

Seems to be a common issue. As stated in the video the one I ordered is not oem. Got it off of eBay from a seller who doesn't sell them any more. I can assure u they are still on ebay

Plan is to keep it. Rather keep it than sell it for the $50 it's worth.

Best place to find an oem type r wing is ebay, mini deck lid is a little more tricky to find but it can also be found on ebay
