Thats one big bird. Just saw one for myself a couple weeks ago at eaa in Oshkosh. Wow that's a massive plane. Can't believe it can fly.

I went on board a US Air Force C5 in Antigua in 1983 as a young Fire Fighter for a familiarization tour at VC Bird Innternational Air Port Antigua and Barbuda Lucky Me!
I had a guided tour and sat in the pilots seat of a Galexy.
Happy day.

Love these US air force big birds.
Every Veteran of the Armed Forces must have flown in one of these giants at some point in their military career. I have jumped out from one of these big birds and it was exhilarating.
I flew in one from Yakota AB, Japan back to Korea in 83. Nice ride.

I departed Aldergrove on July 4th to Milan just before the c5 left. Do you have footage of me departing?
Was fortunate enough to write the script used to make a C-5 egress video back in the mid-80s. The USAF made videos for the various aircraft to be used when folks couldn't get hands-on training or to augment hands-on.
Used by firefighters around he world to learn about the aircraft, how to egress crew/passengers and fight fires using onboard and external sources.
Impressive aircraft to say the least.

The C5 has a T-Tail. It's designed to provide more clearance for loading and unloading of the aircraft. The rear of the plane is called the empennage ; tail section of the aircraft.
