  • In the rapidly changing world, the American Dream is not what it used to be. What does the younger generation of Americans aspire to, and how can we help them achieve it?
The teenagers of America have vastly different dreams for the future than generations past. Surina Borbor details the changing definition of the American Dream and how we can help our adolescents achieve it. Surina Borbor is a student at Valencia high school and a part of the ValTech program offered there. At school, she’s involved in the weekly school news broadcast, TigerTube, and a few clubs, such as 422 Club and French Club. Her favorite class, though, is art, where she gets to do her favorite thing in the world: paint. Outside of school, she enjoys cooking (albeit not very well), exploring the town on her bike, and reading- especially if it’s about anthropology. She’s very excited to have the opportunity to participate in TedEx this year, and is excited to share her talk with everybody! This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
