    I really would love another Final Fantasy from Naoki Yoshida. I just hope he listens to the fans and gives players full control of the party, I would have had so much more fun in ff16 if Jill was a playable character. Controlling the whole party feels like the core of final fantasy to me. Other than that it was amazing and the best writing in any FF game even if gameplay fell short. I love Final Fantasy XVI. I thought it was incredibly well done. It’s honestly one of my new top favorites in the franchise, alongside Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy XIII, and Final Fantasy IX. Final Fantasy XVI is amazing! Thank you, Creative Business Unit 3, for all of your hard work, and for creating such an incredible new entry in the Final Fantasy franchise!
    I know that nothing has been officially decided yet, as was said in this video, but I really do think that Creative Business Unit 3 would be the perfect fit for making Final Fantasy XVII as well! With all the experience and everything they’ve learned from developing Final Fantasy XVI, I think it would be extremely beneficial for them to continue building on that experience for the next mainline Final Fantasy as well.
    I know Yoshi P says that a younger director might be a good idea, and I certainly trust that Square Enix will make the best decision they can when it comes to the team developing the next Final Fantasy, but I cannot express enough how great it would be to have Creative Business Unit 3 continue with what they’ve experienced and learned, and build upon that for Final Fantasy XVII.
    And I think Creative Business Unit 3 is very in touch with the younger generation too! There’s no need to worry on that end. They did an incredible job creating Final Fantasy XVI, and many people (myself included) absolutely loved it! Nothing pleases everyone, but Final Fantasy XVI received a lot of praise from what I’ve seen. Sure, there’s a few people who didn’t like it, but that’s the same for anything. I’ve seen a lot of praise from longtime fans and quite a few people who played this as their very first Final Fantasy absolutely loved it too!
    No matter what happens, though, I am thankful to Creative Business Unit 3 for all of their hard work and for creating Final Fantasy XVI. Thank you so much for this amazing experience!

    I really like the model where they have:
    1. Mainline titles.
    2. Spinoff titles like Stranger of Paradise, which allowed them to explore other gameplay (souls-like, etc).
    3. MMORPG (FF14)
    4. FF7 Remake franchise.
    Really allows them to fully take advantage of the FF franchise and offer players different gameplay options.
    Personally as a character action game fan I felt really spoiled by both FF16 and Stranger of Paradise.
    Though I understand if they go back to turn based for FF17.

    • @cosmosofinfinity
      @cosmosofinfinity Před 4 měsíci +1

      I thought Stranger of Paradise was an even meatier satisfying game than FF16! So replayable too, the co-op really adds a lot to it, and then the DLC opens things up even more. Just layers upon layers. I wish FF16 took some notes, as it's a game that I feel is designed more for just 1 or 2 playthroughs and not tinkering around with personal builds and experimenting with playstyles so much. Once you find abilities you like in FF16, you're fine just sticking with it the whole game for the most part, so that and the items/loot/gear make 16 feel comparatively shallow to Team Ninja's approach.

  • @cosmosofinfinity
    @cosmosofinfinity Před 4 měsíci

    I wish more people would talk with the director Hiroshi Takai. Isn't he more responsible for the game's direction than the producer? Big fan of Yoshi P, but FFXIV's redemption arc happened while he was director, not producer, so I figure the director would be pretty important for the media to interview more.

    • @LittleAngryOwl
      @LittleAngryOwl Před 4 měsíci

      Yoshi-p was both producer and director of 14 during 1.0, and he still is. I do agree with you on the point of interviewing Takai! Directors definitely have (or should have) more impact than producers. I wonder why he doesn't speak up much x)

    • @cosmosofinfinity
      @cosmosofinfinity Před 4 měsíci

      @@LittleAngryOwl I was thinking he only adopted the mantle of producer on top of director around Shadowbringers or Endwalker as it became needed and he had proven himself with his track record of success with FFXIV overall, and that previously he was comfortably (relatively speaking) avoiding double duty and just serving as director for the game until fairly recently. I'm not sure from where/when I got this impression, but I guess I was wrong, since I see now he is credited as producer for every stage of FFXIV's history. Maybe I was mixing things up with his approach to FFXVI or just him generally being promoted within the company of Square Enix, sort of like how Hideo Kojima was given higher titles in Konami besides director. But yeah, my point is that Naoki Yoshida is a rockstar enough already, and now is time for Hiroshi Takai to make himself more known. And probably the writer Kazutoyo Maehiro as well, since I'd really like to know how he came up with the story.

    I agree that every FF is different and need to be a challenge in terms of design, but I don't think it's a great idea to throw mothership entry of FF (which is a complex task to start with anyway) to bunch of newbies. It's so important to many people around the world and we are waiting so many years for the release, that a chance of dissapointment should be eliminated at least with experienced team. Let the new guys try and error in a new IP or some spin-off if they want so much to be a part of the franchise asap.
    Don't rush it with decisions, we already waiting (still) for Persona 6 from the team of young devs. It's in development for 8 YEARS, so, like many games that was in a long dev hell, this have a high chance to be a disaster. I'll be shocked if the game actually be really good. We don't even have any concrete info about the game. It's kinda understandle, they need to meet very high expectations layed out by the P4 and P5.

    • @LittleAngryOwl
      @LittleAngryOwl Před 4 měsíci

      Imagine new FF with BG3 gimmicks (or are those called TTRPG gimmicks? correct me pls!). It probably wouldn't be as big, because SE loves their games being voice acted in several languages, but still, I think that would be something interesting. Especially if we could also create our own protagonist like WoL in 14.
      As for sales: it's not like ALL these 30 mil ppl are fans of turn based games. Many just heard the game was good and jumped on the ship (I was one of them, never a fan of turn-based or DnD and other TTs). And it IS good, but not solely because it's turn based. 16 is still Sony exclusive, and we don't know if it's going to be ported to anything other than pc, so any argument on sales is invalid in this particular case. You can't just blindly measure multiplatform vs single platform sales. If anything, it should be a signal for devs to focus on multiplatform releases instead of exclusives, Sony be damned. And as for CoD and GTO fans... well, those prob would never play anything else, with some exceptions ofc xD

    Yoshi P brought too many MMO sensibilities to XVI. Everyone agrees that party members need to return, and the next FF doesn't need to be copying this dark and gritty tone of GoT. It's a good game but FF needs another director for the next game.

    • @SnuSnu91
      @SnuSnu91 Před 4 měsíci +8

      I disagree. Yoshida and his team did a great job on FFXVI and there is nothing that was copied or whatsoever. I mean even GoT is some sort of "copy" if you will, but that's called inspiration. There were many FF's that were kinda "dark" before GoT was even a thing. It's like saying every game that has elves and orcs and stuff is a copy of LOTR :D
      Edit: Although I think this game is absolutely awesome I wished there would be more exploration/secrets and more challenging stuff. I also kinda agree with the party members.

      Why is it that people like you can't just accept that companies want and choose to depict different sorts of characters now? Assuming it's an ESG thing is so shallow. There are gay characters in Game of Thrones, this game's closest story analogue and inspiration, and no one calls that woke, they call it realistically adult and brutally honest for not shying away from homosexuality which has been present throughout history, and it was part of the author's personal vision and tastes for that world. As for Naughty Dog's approach, say what you want, but they don't really have much to do with FF16 here, we're talking about Japanese and American companies with wildly different company cultures/philosophies, and Japan obviously does not care about this American ESG buzzword
