If u play non claw and use swap weapon on your buttons bind it to your back paddle one you don’t use it’ll be hard to get used to but I promise you’ll be more consistent with gameplay after getting used to it DONT quit after trying for a few minutes
I've been experimenting with paddles for about a year now, and theses are the settings I've settled on: Switch mode: Right paddle Edit: Left paddle Jump: R3 Toggle Pickaxe: L3 Everything else is verbatim
i feel the best non claw binds would be R3 jump, L3 switch mode and touch pad edit for ps4/ps5. also if you put jump on a bumper, then you can place the build without taking ur thumb off the stick

I’d say that 5 (lowest) dead zone helps you become as reactive as possible but it may be harder depending on whether you have a lot of stick drift. It is what I am using and I am able to be quick on controller with my edits and aim but one additional thing to note, I am using Galaxy kontrol freeks on my thumb sticks and it is absolutely necessary as it gives you a wider range of movement. Do not copy my settings till you get them as you will not get full effect, they make you better with your range. If you want to go the extra mile, I recommend fushion pro 2 controller as the paddles on the back ensure that you are quick with pressings buttons, not lifting your thumbs of the sticks is very important. My settings right now are dead zone: 5, look sens: 45 with 5 boost, aim: 9, build: 2.3, edit: 2.5, linear.

Just re-add the insurance on the replacement for $15 and BAM!! $15 controllers for life. Literally!! I’ve replaced mine a minimum of 6-7 times, no cap, and still spent less than an Elite Series 2. Which I also own, with insurance, at BestBuy. Lol. Same deal there with the Elite 2 but they’re just not always in stock. The Fusion Pro 2 is always in stock.

i got paddles after playing years on a default controller and only had two cause i got the PowerA enhanced spectra infinity, but instead of doing edit as a paddle i did switch mode since i’ve had edit on my left stick for so long.

I play no claw or paddles on Nintendo switch and I have B as jump and A as switch mode and edit. It was a learning curve, but I got used to it.

I used to use touch pad for pickaxe when I had 2 paddles it was good even for noob like me

On L1 I use my index finger and L2 I use my middle finger. Same with r1 and r2

I agree with this however for some PlayStation controllers it may be a little bit harder to jump if your right paddle is is the jump bind
