By playing claw or using paddles. If you don’t use either claw or paddles try left stick edit right stick jump. Or if on ps4 controller try touchpad edit left stick switch mode and right stick jump. This will help a ton trust me
If your non claw switch to claw, your movement aim and mechs will improve so much. I switched to claw back in may of 2020 and it took like 2 weeks to get used to it. It will feel uncomfortable at first but it will not give you any wrist pains unless you do claw incorrectly

Hey Ken, on the Elite Pro 2, you can make one of the paddles a "shift" button. Which allows the implementation of the other 3 paddles to have 2 options whether utilizing "shift" or not. My little secret is out. I wasn't going to get better with less time on my hands so I figure why not pass the word to someone who appreciates this function!
It would be a secrete if it would be beneficial in fortnite but it’s not. Fortnite doesn’t recognize a shift button and fortnite doesn’t give players an option to designate inventory slots to any binds. If it did I would have a shift button and all my paddles act as an inventory slot. I tried and wanted it to work out having the shift function but it just doesn’t :(

After learning claw I ended up with an elite controller but I didnt want to scrap claw. It was too much work to learn it to walk away. So I only use 1 paddle on my left hand and its pickax. Left stick jump. Right stick crouch. Y switch mode. X edit. A reload. L1 is reset. R1 to confirm. Edit on release. But..... I'll try your way and see what works better for me personally.

It's not the binds that hurt me in my games. It's the fact that certain builds need certain actions to be completed. EX: when you are higher than your opponent and are trying to box them in, you need to crouch to be able to place the walls (or they'll just get placed by you.) I feel that a lot of CZcamsrs tell what to do but don't show how. But still a great video.
yeah, this is why i see pc players do this with ease because they can crouch spam fast enough that they could place builds after boxing someone from above that it looks like they do it while standing. you could do the same for console but theres an obvious difference
I play just right claw and use touch pad to edit, R1 to select, R2 to confirm, L1 to reset, O to switch mode, and the button on right of D-pad to map. I think it’s really good and easy to learn. I don’t use confirm edit on release because I play on ps4 and it has a delay and confirming is really fast
I use right stick to confirm and LT for reset and it feels comfortable but I would Recommend swapping to rb or lb reset and LT confirm or Lt as reset and Lb or rb as confirm

You can still use your confirm bind to confirm even when edit on release is on, so you have the option if you want to release to confirm or not, might be useful to know!

I know I'm very late to this video but for ps4 no claw no paddles and ps5 controller I do not recommend touchpad for switch mode as it it slower to turbo build stair and wall when taking an opponents wall. However the remaining binds are spot on great video Mr Beans!

My controls are pretty nice, although I have roof on r2 and wall and attack on r1, so it’s a little hard to swing, place roof, place wall. Same for reset if I have it on r2 it’s a little hard to reset and edit in the same go. Tunneling and editing is so easy the way I have stuff set up.

Do you not experience with misclicks, that you are scrolling through weapons? i am trying to make it as monkey proof possible also. i get that with the R2 reset and L2 confirm you are able to quickly press them as it is one click with both hands, but why not L1 instead of L2? for two paddles i like to set the sprint to back left paddle and right paddle to swicth mode so i can have right joystick for reset and left joystick for editing so i don’t have to take my hand off the joystick
Guys on two paddle a good thing to do is to use your pickaxe and you switch mode to the paddles, you should jump with r3 and crouch with circle or square and edit with l3

i have the 4 paddle power a fusion pro and i would use two or three paddles but my hands are way to big for that so im two paddle gang, the best layout for large hands on that controller is to use the two short paddles in the bottom slot and if that dosent work try the long paddles in the top spot.

Switch Mode is fine on R3 but then your crouch button would have to be removed from R3 which means it goes on L3 which is not very optimal
