Hello @jezrahiahibo2877! For deontology (as opposed to utilitarianism/consequentialism), yes, duty is superior to happiness: we ought to do our duty regardless of whether it will make us happy or not (ex. tell the truth/not lie even if I and/or others will not be happy about it).
Is avoid telling the truth right away and breaking it down slowly while not lie has a name as deonthology. Like wrong actions are always wrong and you should avoid them but right actions not always be the best so you should be neutral in those circumstances
Unfortunately, deontology does not take into consideration the consequences of an action (ex. someone getting hurt/angry because of the truth) (this is what consequentialist theories, like utilitarianism, consider). Rather, a deontologist simply does what is right because it is one's duty to do so regardless of the possible outcomes.
isn't those theories consider bad things can be good too. So is their a thery saying evry thing bad is bad but god things must consider the outcome.@@languageandideas
