Me too 😂
can't believe I was saying sitting "on the chair" my entire life
Me too 😁
So was I
Maybe you weren't wrong. In the picture the chair has a seat back surrounding a girl behind and on both sides, so she is IN a chair. I think if a seat back is only behind then it would be ON a chair.

Thank you a lot for keeping making videos about little differences in English) it would be also great to learn about the difference between synonyms like deal/handle/manage and etc .I am interested in business English and a bit confused when read synonyms like these ones and still can't figure out what the difference between them is..thank you in advance 🙂
..and I would appreciate if you could share some internet recourses/special dictionaries or even printed books relevant to this topic about synonyms.thank you
Hi. Lissa ando Kevin. God bless You all.
Hi 🎉🎉🎉 from Iraq 🇮🇶🇮🇶🇮🇶❤
Some people have asked whether we should use ‘on the chair’ or ‘in the chair’ when referring to a chair without arms. I have the same question. Although their videos are great, sometimes they create more confusion and leave room for making further mistakes.
Thank you very much. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
So if a chair doesn't have an arm rest, are you still supposed to use "in"?
That was exactly what I was going to ask her because if the chair does not have arms rest we use ON instead of IN , IN dennotes enything that is enclosed .
Which one is correct " be a part of your team" or "be part ...." ? Thanks
Sitting on a stool? Sitting in a stool? 🤔
be part of your team. If you say "be a part" it would mean a separated thing, completely detached from the main object. Example: "This leg is a part of that table" means the leg is detached, the table is without that leg. "This beauliful roof is part of my house" - the roof is on its right place supported with walls.
@@Tony32 I think on a stool. Moreover, in the video the chair has a seat back surrounding a girl behind and on both sides, so she is IN a chair. I think if a seat back is only behind then it would be ON a chair.
Eid adha Mubarak
If I work online, I work ON the Internet?
Yes, you are working on the Internet.
@@user-kw1pm4xp4e are you the native speaker?
In Russian we say on the chair, in the chair means inside the chair.
Можно говорить сижу в кресле
I was saying 'sit on the chair' my entire life. Why??😢
Maybe you weren't wrong. In the picture the chair has a seat back surrounding a girl behind and on both sides, so she is IN a chair. I think if a seat back is only behind then it would be ON a chair.
Am I the only one, who doesn't have sound when Lisa is talking? She is absolutely silent. But everything is fine when the movie extracts are playing.
Yeah I could only hear Lisa's voice through one speaker but the rest of the video plays through both speakers.
@@philipm5043 Thanks for commenting, I finally got it... My headphones only work in one ear, another ear is silent (probably the very one needed to be able to hear Lisa) :D I should change my headphones and the problem will be solved.
In the picture the chair has a seat back surrounding a girl behind and on both sides, so she is IN a chair. I think if a seat back is only behind then it would be ON a chair, wouldn't it? And what about a stool?
