  • Hope is complicated inside grief.
Intense grief isn't like ordinary life, and ordinary tools aren't always helpful. Meditation for grief isn't about feeling "better," it's about finding kindness exactly where you are (even when where you are is painful). This 9 minute meditation on hope is an excerpt from Megan’s original audio book, the Grief Experiment, available for download here.
If you’re grieving, we recommend joining Megan’s once a month grief support group call, where you can get answers to your questions about grief and learn what to say to people who just. don't. get. it.

Thank you so much! My 35 yo son is missing and presumed dead by violence. Almost 6 months. It’s only a heartbeat and it’s a lifetime. I needed to shed some quiet tears surrounded by love. Thank you!

Thank you for this gift Megan. I've lost five loved ones in an eight month span - the fifth one was a few days ago. This meditation is a blessing. ❤️

thank you...i lost my mom who was my everything to Covid.
since 2017 she had survived, a heart attack, an abdominal aneurysm, breast cancer, kidney failure snd she had kept going ...she didn’t even look sick...she kept fighting and thriving as much as she always did in life...head on and with such hope...we kept her in a bubble and still covid-19 found her and took her...11 days she fought it...17 days before her birthday , the Covid-19 unit doctor said to me:” there’s nothing more I can do for her”...those words keep hammering my mind...3 weeks after my mom was gone, the vaccines started to become available 😩😩😩😩 ...i don’t want to die it’s just the acuteness of this raw pain makes me so weary...i don’t believe in religion and i simply don’t trust the belief of “she’s in a better place”...my mom loved to live this life here on earth! she would be fascinated with technology and she liked a good meal and a nice smooth scotch, loved to laugh even though her sense if humor sucked and she hated comedy shows....i’m so mad, sad, and plagued with doubts if doctors really didn’t have anything else for her or if her skin color and or race and ethnicity played a role...not knowing how she got infected in her own house...so many questions and i will never have a decent answer...😤😤😤🥺🥺🥺😖😖😖

It’s very hard losing your mom. You have my deep sympathy. I use to be in a religion. My parents were and believed. I lost my dad one month ago.
I believe people do go on in a happier, healthy state of being. From what you listed, she had a lot of health issues. I know people who could not take the vaccine because of kidney, heart issues. If you can try to get your mind distracted when you think about those last words of the Doctor. I did something similar with my mom. Take it slow, look in the mirror get in nature, take breaks when with people but be around people too.

I’m so sorry for your loss. My beautiful girlfriend of 14 years took her last breath 3 weeks ago. I was with her holding her hand, thanking her and telling her I loved her when she passed. I don’t know how I’m going to go on.
