Best dogs ever. Our black Airedale howls in response to her dreams, which means when she goes off it's usually around 2:00 am. She's big (90 lbs.) and her howl is unbelievable ... the first time I thought there was a coyote in our bedroom.
We had to leave our Airedale at the vet for a few days for an operation. After picking her up, on the way home she started howling like this in the car, as if to tell us what it was like. Great dogs

Blair Egan I have an Airedale atm named Dexter we also have a lab named dolly. Airedales are so full of unique character when I'm older I'm definitely getting another Airedale and name it Chester after the name of my home town and I'd probs also get a husky and name it Luna
That's their ancestors talking -- the Otter Hound. Hounds howl, and Airedales are a mix of Otterhound and Old English Terrier. They're very rare, only 800 or so left. My airedale used to howl in her sleep too.
My Baxterdale heard this and joined in..he likes to sing with the harmonica. Airedales are amazing and wonderful dogs!

The first Saturday of every month at noon they test to tornado sirens and my Airedales would howl along! I miss that...
They are adorable!
