- Just my experience with the Argus BNVD 1431 MK2 from Opfor Night Vision.
BTW: I miss spoke, I have RPO 3.0 lenses, not 2.0. Also, alkaline batteries can leak and damage your NVGs, not affect the image.

I have 1431's with elbit wp tubes and I love them!
Thanks for making this video, was great to meet you in Florida! I'm actually super impressed that you noticed the minor improvement I made to the IP system. I had a small O-ring added underneath the locking clip to provide some resistance to the adjustment knobs. I am glad you're enjoying them!
I know the gen1 1431s were hit and miss quality wise, but I managed to get a great one and have been using it for 2.5 years and love it. I'm glad argus is getting more recognition, it's a good housing.
Great video. Thanks for letting us be a part! ❤
My 1431 MK2s have been awesome. I have Elbit tubes in mine. From my research the 1431s are the best housings for the money on the market.
Because of this video, I Sold my GP DTNVG’s and upgraded to high spec 1431 mk2’s today. What a difference in so many ways
Good video! just got my MK2s from Z (OpFor) a few months ago. Bit of an improvement over my 31A's in different areas. The ability to go with PVS14 lens is awesome. Defiinitely use Lithium over alkaline.
PUT IT ON THE CARD!!
I’ve owned RNVGs and I just tried out these 1431s a few weeks ago. Very impressed honestly if I would’ve known about this housing I probably would’ve got these over my RNVGs. I do love the RNVG housing because it’s a freakin tank though. But the articulation on the 1431 system is ridiculously impressive.
I went with these over the Katanas. They seemed to have a bit more features that the katanas albeit being heavier. I rarely use the onboard illuminator but better to have and not need than need and not have. overall great performance I like the ability to turn off the flip up off feature too. Plus, no twisty nobs to turn on like my pvs14 , just push the button and all programming is solid state.
I can't wait until I get my 14 in. Couldn't afford binos, but I'm glad I can now see if the effing dark.
Thanks for the video brother I am getting one in September
Got a set of these from Steele industries about 3 weeks ago. Been using them every night and I can’t get enough. Thanks for all the great content Jon. I gotta sign up for the next nvg1 class. Bummed about the c1g facility 😢
I recently ordered a pair from Steele. I just want to know how yours are still holding up or if you’ve had any issues. Hopefully mine are here tomorrow.
@@christophermcguire529how are yours holding up?
@@JaredRegalado-zv9bxthey’re holding up pretty well man, I haven’t had any issues
Major vouch for OPFOR Night Solutions.
Got my 1431's with the Argus mount and there awsome ❤
Tubes are the engine.
Housing is the chassis
Glass is the suspension? How smooth the ride is or some shit
I would say glass is the tires. if you have shit tires on a mustang you'll get smoked by lil civics
Thank you.
I'm curious why you dont use battery packs? I always love leveraging your experience, keep up the high quality videos - you bring a ton of value!
Just a personal preference. I also like having less wires and be able to remove my unit from my helmet and still utilize it by itself.
Not speaking for anyome else but I am so confused on numbers of devises like 1431’s etc and stuff like DTNVGS , DTNVS , RNVGS ? Can we possibly have one video that explains all of these things? I will be purchasing some in the near future and would like to be informed. I currently own a single 14 green phosphorus.
Typically when you see 14 in the name it means it uses pvs-14 optics. The main pro to this is pvs14 optics are readily available in case a replacement is needed. The only "con" is that they tend to weigh a negligible amount more than standard pvs31 optics. This is due to the addition of and adjustable diopter, aka the lens closest to your eye. The DTNVS is a DTNVG with some fat trimmed off. Both housings are made by the same company. I haven't seen a DTNVG housing for sale in a few years so it may have been discontinued. RNVG stands for Ruggedized Night Vision Goggle. Its an aluminum, fixed bridged goggle, (the pods do not articulate as seen in this video), although the company that makes that housing recently released one that does. There is an RNVG, RNVG-VG (Variable Gain aka brightness), RNVG-A (Articulating), and RPNVG (Ruggedized Panning Night Vision Goggle) where the pods swivel out to increase your field of view to 65 degrees from 40.
@@Rolley189 thanks that help clear a lot of stuff up.
Thanks for the video Jon!
I personally own a set of these. I can't recommend them highly enough,
Also
super eager to see the panoramic that Argus comes out with and how they will affect. The market,
hopefully, you will make a video on them as well, wink wink
What gen are thay and am possibly getting these very soon as I have digital 31 style and after getting used to how si,please and basic thay are I know theas opfors are way more better :)
@@darylobey8867 l3 gen3 white phosphorus I recommend them there pretty good I would go with the seller I got them from go opforninight Solutions and tell them Sam H sent you from Texas he can probably lead you down the right path similar to mine
I just had my tubes swapped to these by Custom Night Vision. They rock.
Thanks for your review. I want to be special forces like you, bro
Wouldn't the NOD glass be the tires? As they're how you transfer the power of your unit into performance.
The could be
Is that a C35 in the vise? I’ve had one for the better part of a year now and hard to beat for the price. Been swapping it between .22, 5.56 and 6.5 with good results.
Yup
I didnt realize some people called 1431 MK 2s "airsoft grade" lol
Yeah. My boots also become airsoft grade when I play airsoft with them.
Low prices may make it seem like a low-end product, but in reality, it is not
This is the benefit brought to consumers after China's technological breakthrough, mass production, and competition.
My crye g3s are airsoft grade :)
We can do the swap for you and you can sell your rnvg housing. You won’t be out much and you will be super happy
How do you shut off the auto shut off feature on the BNVD 1431
Nvm got it
Do you like them more than the
ACT IN BLACK DTNVS?
Either one works. Just depends on features you care about.
Honestly, I do.
I see the Steiner C35 on that AR, will you be doing a review on it?
I wonder how these stack up to the 1531s
1531s have a 50 fov if I'm not mistaken, they have different optics and a big ass l3 stamp so u get what u pay for. Noteworthy that argus housings like these are Chinese made no matter what "optimization" Happens. These housings like the mk2 and the mk1 are so people in the states can get a housing without the personal information asked for when buying "military spec" Housings and or complete units like l3
@@ateniense_they don’t have 50 fov
did you wish the 1431's had the auto-shut off feature when you articulate the pods up? How much does that feature matter to you?
Honestly I like it not shuting off. It's not that big of a need for my use.
They do. Turn the unit on, hit the power button 5 times fast.
Great video and i wonder that where to buy the MC patch for sf helmet just like yours on your helmet?
On point
Pretty good. It has become more low profile than the Mk1, hasn't it?
In Miami eh? Nice. I'm right on the other side in Fort Myers. If you know of any good training classes around us please link. And thanks for the vid!
What tubes would of I buy to build these from a housing
MC11769
Sweet, I was looking at these and wondered how they actually were. Seems like a decent step into binos for the average guy. I know this is out in left field but I’m going to purchase a monocular and wanted to see if you’d respond with advice on this. I’m an average shooter that just wants to play at night a couple times a month if that and use it at home and in the woods by the house. I am wanting the nocturn Tanto housing with the eventual goal being to buy another one with a similar tube and use their bridge when it comes out because it should be pretty close to a Katana but with the option of having two mono’s. BUT I would be going with a Photonis 4g echo or elbit XLSH in this housing. I recently found a PVS-14 housing on sale from a reputable company with a 19xx FOM L3 unfilmed tube in it for the same money. Should I say fuggit on the auto gain only Tanto housing and then possibly just sell the 14 or use the tube if I go binos next year or something? I feel like maybe the better tube in a 14 housing that’s ALWAYS going to have replacement parts available maybe the move. But then I give up my end goal. I just don’t know if their Daisho bridge will even be that cool and it’ll be auto gain only as well obviously but I could use an iris on the front but that doesn’t help with turning the actual gain down for clarity. Is that THAT important? What would you recommend for a new NV user?
Personally, I wouldn't buy a monocular with the plan to pair it with another one in the future. The reason being it's going to be very difficult to find another intensifier to that matches the one you have. Not just inspect but also in color. I would go for that 14 and then plan or budget so that I can purchase duels later on.
Hi which bracket did you use to mount to your helmet ?
The mount (not bracket) is a Wilcox g69
Nice one cheers mate
is the battery port on the side where it stops full range of motion like the 31A or on the back like the 1531?
Unfortunately it is on the side and it does hamper articulation. You can rotate the right pod out of the way, but it won’t go over center with it plugged in.
When is the manual gain dtnvs releasing??
Where did you get a BNVD 1431 Mk.II with Supergain tubes?
Tubes came from tnvc and the housing from Opfor Night vision. I say it in the video
You mentioned that the new Act In Black DTNVS has Manual Gain?
There is a version coming that does.
It's here :)
7:26 worse image with alkaline? What's the evidence on that?
I love enchiladas
really want your shooting vid gear reviwe is good but want to see somthing new
Thomas Sarah Rodriguez Charles Young David
from china?
yes
Anyone know where I could get that lemo port cover for my set?
7:18 that is NOT a thing. "Shit batteries" will give you less time, and may leak if you're unlucky, but the image will be the exact same compared to lithium.
Depends on the device and temperature. Single AA devices have to use electronics to up the voltage to 3-3.7V, which require higher input current. It is also likely that SuperGain tubes require a higher input current to begin with, so that on top of limited output capabilities and lower temperatures can actually have a negative effect on the brightness of your image.
@@opfornightsolutionscorp it's still a very low current compared to even the cheapest dollar store flashlight. That's why it can last 24+ hours easily.
@@roflchopter11 At -40C alkalines have issues even with single tube systems.
@@opfornightsolutionscorp okay, my AO never gets below -10C

You forgot to mention these are made by Chinese company Argus and they are also Made in China.
And?
Made in the same place as the phone that posted that
@@Brad_Denton True.. but Apple is not Chinese owned and does not pay taxes in China. While Argus does.
And? they take the money then we own cool gear
