I've been waiting on this video for so long! Great video!
I was literally looking for videos about this arm last night. Thanks Jon
His coupon still works take advantage guys!
Absolutely love the NERD. Just got it last week, love how simple it is. My favorite part about it is not having to use key rings or any hooks. Jon, you’re the reason I got my RNVGs and into Nv in general. All of your videos have made me feel extremely confident in the nods world. Can’t wait to get to one of your courses.
Happy to hear it bro
Sweet! Just picked one up. Your code saved me an extra few bucks. $128 out the door between the code and their cyber Monday sale.
thanks for the vid, look forward to your panobridge video.
Exactly what I’ve been looking for
Sick, ordered some thanks
Ordered one this morning, I have the Wilcox k arm with the on off switch, if I could do it again I would have bought the standard Wilcox j arm.
These are pretty solid. Saved some 💵 vs going with the Wilcox J arm. Now time to put it to the test with more use
been waiting for this review. solid mount, love mine except it needs some maintenance to keep it working well. the pivot point needs to be retightened from time to time after using it for a night on the town.
One other quick thought. I wonder if this will work with my INVG & allow me to use my Blade Tech PVS-14 molded 14 case with it attached to the 14 - unlike my Dual Dovetail THA adapter.
Any one tried either??
I have to admit, this is the First thing I've seen in 10yrs involving I2's that actually interests me. Maybe it wont end up on a WTS thread like Every other flash in the pan accessory of late...
Do you have a radio setup with your full kit? If you do, it would be an interesting video topic as many gloss over it.
@Kinetic Consulting Have you messed with the digital upgraded battery housing from Noisefighter for the PVS-14?
I haven't. I will one of these days.
I have this mount and an INVG, lol
I can articulate my 14 like origami 😅😅😅
But I normally run my INVG with the dual dove tail minus one of the dove tails. I just articulate from right to left moving the mount.
Really wish Norotos had added one more detent to the InVG to secure a left to right eye swap vs. having to detach the mount to swap to other eye.
Ordered one of these and a NERD (from TNVC) for my new PVS14.
🤘🏽
Been using my AX14 for about, 2 months now? I think? Its been doing great. One problem to talk about, which myself and others had brought up to Neal, the owner of NF, the smaller allen screw seems to back out pretty frequently. Just sitting in my car, driving around, the vibration backs it out. Theyre working out the problem now. And it doesnt seem to be all of them, just a couple here and there. I wouldnt let that keep me from buying it though. Blue locktite and a witness line, easy solution.
Yeah he sent me another one because it was coming loose every 5 mins and the new one does the same thing. Just put loctite on there gunna let it set and see how that works.
@@brodybussie6215 did that do the trick for you?
I would have liked to see how close they get to the helmet once you stow them up. I have the X-14 from them which doesn’t have the articulating “elbow” and it is pretty durable and locks up tight!
I'll take some photos and post them on ig.
Why don't you use Locktite? I have had my mounts get loose quite frequently until I started dropping Locktite. Now, I also ran out not long ago and used a little of my wife's fingernail polish and that worked great! But, is there a reason you wouldn't use it that I don't know?
I would if it was staying on there. I have a bunch of mounts and am always evaluating more things. Just don't need to
What pvs 14 do u use
Great content as always. question: With your NOD experience, assuming roughly the same budget range, would you recommend a high quality single tube (i.e. L3 unfilmed white w/ high FOM) or duals with lower end tubes (i.e. RNVG w/ photis green basic tubes). It seems you can get into both systems for roughly the 5k range but Im not sure which is more of a priority quantity vs quality in this type of instance.
Depends on what you want really. I like seeing with both eyes aided personally. I can buy upgraded tubes later if I need.
@@KineticConsulting I live in and am leo in urban/suburban south Florida where there is usually plenty of ambient light, with that information would that push to lean towards one more than another ?
@@TyMorgan412 nah, that doesn't swing my vote personally.
@@TyMorgan412 Not that you asked for my opinion but I'm still inputting, I would go for two bridged 14s rather than one super nice 14 or bino system. There are two reasons, if one breaks you have at least one you can use until you can buy a replacement, and since you are in LE, if you ever have to use night vision you can detach one and mount it to a cheap helmet or crye nitecap for your partner to use. He probably won't use it nearly as well as you do because he didn't practice with it, but two guys with night capabilities gives better awareness than just one guy with a really nice one, because there is no point then. You both might as well stick to white light.
However if your option is two gen 2s or one gen 3, go with one gen 3. Gen 3 has a lot more capability particularly when going through buildings without power and it's more cost effective in terms of hours if you are a daily user and plan to use this throughout your career. You say there is a lot of ambient light, but all it has to be is one spot without good lighting for something of concern to lurk, and that can happen more often than you think in urban areas. Save the extra 2K until you can buy another gen 3 unit. A high end gen 2 unit is inferior to a low spec gen 3 (assuming no blemish difference) in my personal experience.
Also IMO white phosphor isn't worth even $200 extra cost IMO. I see just as well in green.
14s also have better resale value than binos.
Another option you may consider is buying a thermal unit than IIT or in conjunction. Especially if you are intending for LE, thermal can spot people by their heat bleeding through or reflecting off surfaces (which may tell you someone is inside something like a bathroom without actually stepping inside) and depending on the conditions and quality of unit you may even see thermal tire marks or footprints which help you track down an individual. Thermal is also good for noticing grow operations although review your department policy on the legalities due to the stupid SCOTUS ruling. Thermal is also good for seeing past fog, smoke such as during a riot, fire or industrial accident.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj thanks for the in depth opinion! Definitely some items in there that I hadn’t totally considered. I don’t have much time under nods nor with a variety of different brands so it’s pretty difficult to make that decision based on pictures and videos.
Since I’m starting from ground zero and need to build out a helmet and plan to scoop up a laser/illuminator device as well it’s easy to have budget creep which I’m trying to control. Right now a full build out of about 6k for a nice Gen 3 pvs14 with the helmet with hardware and laser/illum device. Jumping to 8500ish might be a little out of reach for now or something to build up to as I’m getting my feet wet
Bought one used discount thanks
Could we see a demo of the arm articulated up for each side and stowed to each side of the helmet?
I'll take some picture or do a quick video on Instagram
If you were choosing only one, are you going Norotos INVG, or the noisefighter j-arm?
The NF J-arm. That means I'd get the g24 mount and then be primed for getting duals or the PANO bridge.
I think NoiseFighters just discontinued the AX14 J-Arm. I wonder why?
Nah, they made it better.
@@KineticConsulting Sweet. Do you have a link to the new one? Or is it not released yet?
@@braniganrobertsonlaw it's not out yet. Should be soon
Just bought the new PRO...the discount code works
Discount code?
Who makes the x300v mount? Haven’t been able to find it.
I do. It's on my website Kinetic-consulting.net
What is the name of that lens cap on the PVS-14?
It’s a butler creek scope cover
So this arm will work in a G24 without an adapter because it's a dovetail connection?
Correct
can you use this in conjunction with the norotos INVG?
You can, just may be unnecessary due to how the invg has a lot of features for the DDA
what's tha lanyard the velcro?? cool desgin
On top of his helmet? The NERD.
Compared to the wilcox mount, does the ax14 posistion the pvs 14 sit closer or farther from your eye?
The same. Your mount makes the eye distance adjustment
@@KineticConsulting thank you for your reply, but please help me. I understand that the mount gives the ability to adjust the distance from your eye, but wilcox makes 2 different j- arms, the one with the off button positions your eye closer than the standard. I'm was wondering if the positioning of the AX14 is the same as the standard mount.
@@bpfinlay I'd have to look. I have the auto shut off Wilcox jarm and they are pretty much the same. Why are you trying to get it so close to your eye?
@@KineticConsulting The standard wilcox arm positions the pvs14 quite far away, so even with the g24 all the way in, it is still farther away from my eye than I like. I use a ops core bump if that helps.
@@bpfinlay im having the same issue but keep in mind that mounts are designed assuming your wearing eye protection. So they make it have enough clearance. But i still wish it could go in a little bit more
I found that the screws would loosen up.....and I just bought the new PRO model:)....just checked....the discount code works on the new PRO model.
For what website though ? Imma order one
What’s your opinion on the panobridge?
The video will come soon. I like it overall
It looks like this mount doesnt allow the PVS 14 to come to proper eye distance from PVS 14
That’s the rhino mount’s job
What mount is that on your helmet?
Wilcox g24
@@KineticConsulting thank you.
What's that thing on your collar and where'd you get that shirt? Thanks
Collar thing is probably a microphone and the shirt is from his teepspring store
Yeah, probably the mic the comment section has been bugging him about forever lmao
It's a mic. People have lost their minds because of sound so I get a mic and now everyone's concerned about the mic 😂
Shirt is from my Teespring store. Link in the description

I already own one, still watched the whole video lol
LOL me too
What nvg lanyard do you run?
It's called a NERD.
It can be found here: Kinetic-consulting.net/products
@@KineticConsulting thank you!
Wilcox 24.
I ordered 1 yesterday. $135 shipped.
135 usd for sintered 3d printed piece that would cost 20 dollars if made by the chinese with real nylon
@@cagneybillingsley2165 Chinese QC isn't that great so I'm happy with my investment.
@@cagneybillingsley2165 Have you found a $20 dollar option?
Gettin back in shape?
Huh?
@@KineticConsulting in hindsight I realize that's an awkward thing to say on the internet, im not a big social media guy and I still communicate like you were in person so naturally alot of nuances get lost not being face to face, lol that wasn't a pick up line, as you were speaking my add kicked in and I just start looking at other things you look as if you have been exercising more, looking good nohomo
@@schadenfreud33 lol
I don’t believe the j arm was designed to be sacrificial and breakaway. Talking crap.
The original bayonet mount jarm for the rhino mounts was.
