RCT3 with RTX! - RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 with Ray Tracing

- RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 now has Ray Tracing! With the help of a RTX Remix mod, RCT3 now has full RTX Ray Tracing support! This project by @Hemry81 was released only 6 days ago. It seems to be a work in progress currently, but it gives us a great look at what RCT3 will look like with Ray Tracing. In this video, I used RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition for stability reasons, but it also works with RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum (I tested both). Let me know your thoughts about this RTX Remix project and what other coaster games you'd like to see this come to!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the bespoke lowpoly models are way more soulful and charming than Planet Coaster's high poly procedural art.
I prefer the art style of Parkitect. I think they nailed low poly coaster and peep models.
@@Doofles Parkitect is anything but lowpoly! It's more along the lines of modern minimalism, like those kroger ads. If you can't point out and count the polygons, it's NOT lowpoly. I'm sorry if I'm being an annoying stickler, but 3d art is my job, so I'm naturally going to be really particular about 3d art styles.
Disagree, these models are hideous. This game desparately needs a graphics overhaul mod.

I remember getting 10 - 20 fps in this game on an old laptop back in the mid 2000s. Good times! It definitely looks a lot better with the RTX.

i haven't played Rollercoaster Tycoon in possibly yrs the games & Planet Coaster are relaxin' that boosted-up good nostalgia. 💜✈️
Very interesting concept Brandon, hopefully the game improves. I am creating a happily ever after show recreation in planet coaster and it looks amazing.

I know Planet Coaster is oftentimes considered the superior option but as someone who grew up playing rct2+ fell in love with rct3 too... I keep coming back to rct3. Maybe its the complexity of the newer game that keeps throwing me off. Only have a 6700xt (which does not support ray tracing to my knowledge) so can't experience the mod, but would be nice if someone made an amd edition of this... if not adding ray tracing support maybe some other sort of graphic upgrade to get the game looking a bit fresher.
Some new models and textures would do the game wonders!
Planet Coaster is definitely better eye candy but gameplay wise nothing beats the old RCT games. I got tired of my employees constantly getting unhappy and quitting in Planet Coaster.
@@DooflesDisagree! The lowpoly art is what makes it so timeless! It's the same reason OSRS is beloved to this day. The art looks hand built from the ground up. Every single polygon is deliberate and handbuilt.
Your 6700 XT absolutely DOES support ray tracing, but I wouldn't expect RTX Remix mods to run very well. I tried Tomb Raider RTX on my 6900 XT and its performance was abysmal. It doesn't help that DLSS is only available on nVidia cards, so your only option for upscaling is TAAU - which looks a lot worse than DLSS. FSR is not supported by RTX Remix. Still though, you could try. Just get a clean install of RCT3, install the RTX Remix mod and see how it runs.
