@Colton Williams It’s just an excuse, just like his made up code. Geralt isn’t stripped of emotions, and it’s made quite obvious even from the beginning. He falls in love with Yen. He makes stupid human mistakes because he’s noble and wants to help. He moralises and questions whether he should kill something/someone or not. He doesn’t stay neutral. Shows fear such as thinking Yen was dead. Shows anger such as when Rience threatened Yen. Or anyone threatening Ciri. Shows sadness such as missing and thinking of Yen. Feels joy when being with Yen and Ciri. Shows disgust with doublets and teleports. Shows surprise when Vilgefortz whooped him. Shows trust to others like Dandelion, Yen, Triss, Zoltan, Regis etc. Shows anticipation about meeting Yen. Shows embarrassment such as kissing Essi, or listening to two sorceress’s talking about wanting to have sex with him. *I’ve pretty much displayed all basic emotions and Geralt exhibiting them all* This is all canon books info too. He’s never known love, or emotion, he was raised to kill etc and he believes pretending to be an unfeeling mutant would be better to get work, and also do the work. Plus most are ignorant and just assume he’s unfeeling, so he plays along. Smart people like Yen and others know it’s all bs. He wouldn’t do or say all the things I mentioned if he was an unfeeling mutant. He’d just kill whatever and get his money, no romance, no moralising etc, if he had no emotions.
