Lets Go I will be there
Question: would you modify an old Rival 6 or 12-round clip into a NERF lightsaber hilt with some extending blade strong enough to repel Nerf darts and Rival balls?
It’s a re-skin
Pretty much identical to the X-Shot Chaos Meteor... (psssst, did you ever discover the utterly amazing nerf stick mag compatibility hack with the meteor? Absolutely amazing!)
I was about to say, it looks like a skinny skeletal Meteor. Thanks for the heads up on the stick mag hack, I'll have to look into that.
That X Shot blaster looks so good
Aye dude, is there any video on the mod?
@@redghost0168 all it involves is flipping some stoppers. It allows you to gravity reload and carry more onboard ammo. It's intuitive once you look at the pieces.
Anyone have a video for the Meteor stick mag mod?
Just from the body design of the vision, I can already see massive modding coming from this, and it almost has the body of a vector, just needs a stock and it'd be complete
That’s quite the vision you have…
I see Valorant's Frenzy in this. It just needs a paint job ofc.
@@beoeve a bit big but i agree
@@beoeve val x nerf needs to happen, not just the blast=x
@@cinder7258 I would love a Nerf Phantom even if its some type of Retaliator reskin.
Looks futuristic enough that it is different from the Kronos, as opposed to some other Rival pistols
Drac, plastic injection mold designer here. Any texture created by a mold is known as Grain. You call it mold release. Mold release is what they spray into a mold (if they haven't done their job right) to aid in removing the molded part. You've correctly noticed that the Grain on the sides or walls of the handles is less prominent as aggressive Grain patterns actually make undercuts in the mold. Anyways just an FYI.
I wouldn't say that you've debunked the accuracy claims per say. I'd say that they certainly aren't more accurate to the point that you'd notice it while playing, but I'd really love to see a scientific test using a blaster stand of some kind in a more controlled environment. Then you'd be able to really notice any consistency increases and you'd be able to give a definitive answer.
It definitely doesn't seem more accurate to the point that you'd notice it though, like Accustrike was in comparison to Elite.
I agree with you but for Accustrike, in terms of their darts(not really the blasters), were definitely more accurate than elite, which isn't too hard to do considering elite darts whirlybird most of the time when firing more than 70 fps lol
7:15 The nerf rival curveshot sideswipe can also do this with moving the mag slider.
Came here to say this as well. The Finisher mag also has this feature.
Don't tell my beloved Meteor that I watched this video...
Aesthetically I am digging the new rival line. So far nothing really does anything better than what I already have so I likely won’t grab any of these yet.
So I was originally wanting to nab a Pathfinder, since I dig the silhouette and magazine. But watching this....I may go for the Vision instead? It's damn handsome, and the fps seems just a tad higher. So long as the release build of it doesn't have the little issue with the hop-up tab, this is really awesome.
Rival is pro and competitive, the foam balls are dope. It's getting me back into Nerf. You could coordinate a game with a few heads like paint ball/Airsoft milsim, it'll be dope.
Glad to see that they're still doing Rival stuff. Easily my favorite style.
I'm not wild about the coloration but the shells are just beautiful. Very very Cyberpunk styled. While I love the X-Shot Meteor (I have 3 of them) I will definitely get this one as well
I’m glad to not be the only one that feels like these designs are very cyberpunk
The barrel has a rubber piece in it, that makes the ball curve midair, so it fights gravity, or when the blaster is sideways, can curve a little bit.
I think I understand the logic behind the "streamlined barrel design", I think it's streamlined in the fact that there aren't any sharp/jagged edges, (see how it's nice and rounded) so when slinging/holstering it won't catch on clothing and gear. You won't like rip your shirt or anything because of the barrel 🤣🤣
man i really love how slick the new design is if you remove the logos you'd almost mistook it to a completely different brand of blasters
"The work being done by [the D&D team] is more genuine than the work being done by [the MtG team]"
I dunno if I should feel better about that as a D&D fan or feel really, *really* bad for MtG fans if that's the case
As a member of both communities, the answer is that both feelings are accurate and right
Definitely looks cool but my heart still belongs to the X-Shot Meteor.
I really like the xshot rival blasters, my favourite asthetic, in blue 😆
Had to spend all of 40 minutes making a new holster for this, but it was well worth it.
Just love the pull prime over finisher and krono's slider primes
kind of want some sort of shoulder stock lug for it though
and maybe priming handle that doesn't dig right into the flesh of my hands
That magazine follower design looks about the same as the sideswipe, that being said I think this is the better blaster viability wise
While I'd like to love the smaller pistol they put out for the new Rival blasters, I just can't do it. I can't, for a good reason. It's front-loaded and can only hold one round at a time. The Vision, however, has an integrated magazine on it. Meaning you just feed the balls into the magazine, close the follower, and then you can fire it almost as fast as it can be primed for the next shot. Whereas with the Fate, you have to pull back the priming bar until it snaps twice to access the loading slot, you can only load the one ball, and then it'll only fire when you shove the muzzle end back into the barrel. The Fate isn't what I look for in a practical sidearm. Too many moving parts and processes that can load you down. The Vision, however, is a practical sidearm. The Vision is basically load, lock the follower, prime fire prime fire prime fire prime fire while maintaining aim. Compare that to the prime, load, lock the muzzle back, aim, fire, prime, load, lock, aim, fire process to use the Fate. By the second round someone could get off with a Fate, the Vision would more than likely, at the least, be getting off three to four shots.
I'm pretty sure the "optimized barrel" is referring to a less aggressive hopup than other Rival blasters. They probably just had to figure out wording that would look good AND make sense to kids.
Have yet to test or check the hopup, that's just what I'd guess for what it means.
The Vision is my favorite of this line. Just hope they're will be a upgraded 3d printed hop-up tab available soon. Will get this blaster as soon as it's available.
As a fan of historical firearms, I can't help but see elements of the P08 luger in the grip-- am I alone in that?
I guess i can kinda see the resemblance
No, I saw it too
The rival curve shot sideswipe has the same magazine system with the follower being able to disconnect from the tab.
I love the sideswipe, but these blasters seem to be of a much better quality than the preceeding curve line. I just might pick this one up when I can.
"Back at it, like a Bad Habit!" Well done.
I feel like saying that you've "debunked" the accuracy claims might be a bit presumptuous. The rounds certainly are pretty clearly not night and day better like accustrike/waffle tip darts are compared to elite darts, but them being like something like 20% more accurate, or something along those lines, seems *very* possible still. We need a blaster set up on a stand, indoors, firing at least a hundred+ rounds and recording the exact accuracy of the shots, before we say anything is debunked. We also need to test for both longer and shorter ranges, as it's possible that in shorter range tests they're exactly the same, while in longer range tests they possible drift in different directions less as they slow down, or something along those lines. Shooting a handful of shots at medium range and not seeing drastically different results is not remotely enough to say that anything has yet been debunked.
Absolutely correct. Only Bradley Phillips does proper accuracy tests, and I don't think he has access to or bothers with Rival. I've even thought of setting up a clamp and stand myself just to test proper accuracy, because a dozen or so shots handheld doesn't really cut it.
Hey Drac, i hope you see this. I have 2 lock and loads and they both dont work with the original darts anymore. But what I realized is, you can squeeze a 1/3 of a full mega dart in the barrel and get pretty amazing and surprising results. (for me, they shoot insanely accurately but with a super strong hop-up effect).
I guess my question is, how many blasters with an O-pull require you to push it forward to complete the prime? Seems like it would be better suited to just pull back and lock to fire, or have a spring to bring it back.
You beat me to it, I don't know if that was necessary or just possible.
Perhaps it’s more convenient to holster primed since its slightly more compact? 🤷🏻♂️
they used the same magazine mechanism for the sideswipe from curveshot so thats cool
This looks like it could be a really nice blaster if the prime was a bit different and if it had the ability to use actual magazines.
Can't wait for the modding community to put a front priming handle on this, making it a good sudo primary
I really like the design and colors, also these new balls look awesome too.
pump action mod for this would be AWESOME. pump action 9 round internal mag rival pistol? hell yeah
God the styling on this looks awesome
I think that mag door feature was on the mid tier curve shot blaster line
The mag cover/follower thing is just like the artemis or hades' mag cover slide but small
That grip looks a bit like a Luger grip with a mag inserted.
Do you think dual-wielding is a possibility?
I feel like this looks pretty good. Not sure I'd want one personally as my Kronos is fine. Also when you can buy an X shot meteor double pack with enough included rounds to fill both twice (24) for around 25 dollars then to me it kinda seems a bit steep at 21+.
Very nice. Glad to see rival aren't dead.
This thing + a 3d printed stock would be great
I lost cried with joy when I herd rival was back.
They are on sale a ton for $10 and at that price I think they are a great buy
Definitely a handsome blaster. I am very happy to see more quality Rival blasters. Since I play in a family friendly, low FPS club, Rival is very popular
Easy to dual wield with the ring pull, unlike the Curve Sideswipe. Sights are pointless nonsense.
Very nice blaster! It's also nice to see a Lock and Load in good condition... 💛💜🧡
I have been shooting the "accurate" rounds from the Rival Curve Sideswipe and I find them to be flying a lot more predictably than the pack-in yellow Rival rounds. Noticeably hitting a lightswitch reliably with half of the mag... and driving my wife crazy.
Need it. Can’t wait till they’re available.
The internal magazine slider/cover was actually implemented in the Curve shot blaster.
Just said the same thing lol, should have scrolled down
What are your overall thoughts on the series so far and do you think it will do well?
It feels sort of like it would be some kind of PDW,like a P90 crossed with a vector
Your point about the difference of quality between things like D&D and Magic is spot-on, and precisely why I stopped playing Magic.
I finally got the vision blaster. Is there any aftermarket parts for that priming handle?
This is like a blue side winder, without a stock, but with sights
Please do a shoot off between the Vision and the X-Shot Chaos Meteor.
Maybe they tweaked the hop-up in the barrel to warrant that "advanced hole in the plastic barrel" claim? BTW the magazine and the shape - this is a Zuru Meteor clone ;)
The only question I have when are these blasters going to be available in the states
Why I’m up at 3 in the morning watching Rival nerf gun reviews debating on witch to buy, I have no idea.
Lord Drac
Fantastic review. This blaster looks pretty cool.
This makes me wish the finisher was better, but this is a pretty cool internal mag sidearm. Nerf's answer to the xshot meteor.
When will you be making a mod guide for this beauty?
Reminds me of my finisher, probably gonna buy two of these and duel weild them.
Also, speaking if the finisher, didn’t the finisher mage have the fun feature with the silde?
I can't wait for the mass effect weapon mods that are bound to come from this.
Thanks Drac!
The magazine door lock was actually first used on the curveshot.
Love your reviews I can't decide if I like best the Vision or the Fate. I am wondering how the Vision feels compared to a Kronos.
Was looking forward to the review of the next new Rival line an' BAM! Dropped very next day after the Pathfinder. Way to produce, Drac. Nice. Well done. And Thank You. -Scopes Maverick
The nerf rival xx-700 has the same system but in a detachable mag
Absolutely going to buy one. It's my color and just so happens to color match my new pair of brooks lol 😆
I would buy this blaster immediately if the charging handle had a spring to force the handle back home after you prime it and let go. Having to push it back upsets me
Hoping to see way more accu-rival blasters. They look so cool.
it reminds me of x shot meteor , but this internal-mag looks way cooler
The way this blaster is laid out looks like a less clunky, more attractive Zuru X-Shot Chaos Meteor.
So it's a refined rival finisher. nice. I liked the finisher's side-loading mag, but I get the feeling I was about the only one 😁
I wonder if you can make it take angled talons
The shape is similar to a Cabal slug rifle from Destiny!
The grip reminds me of the P08
the only other instance of thet mag mech is the sideswipe
Love the look of this one, hope we get them in the UK.
what do you mean? wotc is doing great and amazing things. I can't wait for the 98 secret lairs to come our this year and 10 sets a year. my wallet is also looking forward to it.
Is there a return spring?
Would be awesome to see a stock modification in this blaster
What are the odds this line was actually supposed to be the next wave of hyper blasters? Color scheme isnt far off hyper. Delete the white lighten the blue..
What's the release date for the Accu-Rival blasters?
the rival sideswipe has the same internal mag slide
This is the one I'm most excited for, I just really like the style of it.
A finisher with a fixed mag. I prefer the finisher.
If when they do some kind of over-sized sniper rifle type blaster in this new line I'm in.
are these out at Walmart?
The mag looks perfect for angled talons
Okay, most exciting feature is the tab on the follower.
Noob question but, can Rival take on X Shot rounds/balls?
I love this. Obvious advantages over the Kronos (which costs about this much anyway).
Can you check if you can you apollo mags sort of like stripper clips?
Does it take as much strength to prime as the Kronos?
I see the Valorant Frenzy in this blaster.
Great!
I wish we got something like this that shot half darts.. bouncy balls meh
X-shot meteor copy?
