Did the second half of my first playthrough with a bestfriend from High School who came over to my place for games after prom. It was a lot of fun as I was having a string of bad days that time.
Now, that friend moved 12 hours away from here. I played Part 2 on my birthday with a kid who barely cares about the characters and the story. It was kinda depressing, I matured out of a video game character's experiences.

The last of us part 2 broke my heart... I finished it 5 days ago... I cant stop thinking about the story, i know its just a game but it left a mark.... I swear it changed me in some way... I never felt that way for a movie or a game... Its like i met ellie when she was young (I was 16 when i played tlou in 2013) and i grow up with here... And not being able to help her ( even if she doesnt exists) is killing my brain... Thank u naughty dog for doing that to many of ur gamers... We deserved a story that leaves us happy and not so depressed

I was also 16 when I first played TLOU in Feb. 2014. Learned a lot of lessons on morality from Part 1. I learned how to empathize and think like an adult after the 1st game.
This song is the musical equivalent of all the sorrow, and grief humans can feel. It just flows with pain, like it's stabbing you in the heart and just destroying you from the inside out.

Literally within the first few seconds I was tearing up. It took me a while to remember where this song is played in the game. You don't need to play video games to appreciate the meaning of this song either, that's how good it is

Whoever wrote the music for this piece is amazing, it invokes such sorrow unlike any other piece I've ever heard. Only other piece to make me feel the same depth of emotion would have to be the one from Schindler's List.

And it makes us understand a lot of how Joel thinks and feels.
