Tuberculosis mechanism of disease, symptoms, and diagnosis Summary starts at 7minutes, 15 seconds www.sciencewithsusanna.com has diagrams, notes and practice questions.
And of course: iron enhances tuberculosis infection. Chelation of iron in individuals with an excessive iron burden may reduce M. tuberculosis viability and replication, restore host defence mechanisms and could find application in the prevention and treatment strategies in settings where both iron overload and TB are prevalent. That nonlethal mycobacteria have been used in cancer therapy probably is indicative that the cancer is caused by too much iron and the mycobacteria bind excessive iron (as do gut bacteria).
Hi, does using Corticosteroid Inhalers for treating Asthma symptoms make us more vulnerable to infections as they do suppress our immune systems? Thanks so much for taking the time to produce these videos!
Inhaled CS have local effects, very little enters systemic circulation hence absence systemic effects. Predisposes individual to oropharyngeal infections (e.g., candida), but Tb is unlikely
although i love my country too much but i hoped that i could study medicine in America our medical teaching is really miserable .....thanks for your work ....can you show me some medical websites to help me in my study ...i am still in second year
Thank you for your kind comment! I do have a video about how antibiotics work: czcams.com/video/X44yfIm87rU/video.html I also have a video on antibiotic resistance: czcams.com/video/WaC2xI8nWy8/video.html The antibiotics typically prescribed for active TB include these 6-9 months (because TB bacteria grows so slowly!): *rifampim (inhibits bacterial transcription of mRNA) *isoniazid (inhibits waxy bacterial cell wall formation) Have a great day!
I definitely have that on my list! This quarter I am working mostly on General Biology topics (for example, tonight I have been trying to fit all the key functions of carbohydrates on one page!--not easy!). But it has become really clear to me that pre-nursing students in particular need a few good videos about the reproductive system, and I really appreciate your comment asking for me to make this video.

Tony M Since we give CS inhalers , the amount that goes into systemic circulation is actually very less . So not much of a problem
The inhibit the inflammatory mediators to inhibit the inflammation.
