    Nice video. I just did this to my neighbors 2015. Way more involved then removing my I4 accord's alternator. 1 thing that made this much faster was when pulling the old alternator out(and putting the new one in) is to put tension on the tension pulley(like your removing the serpentine belt). That gives so much more room to get the alternator in and out.

      thank you for the comment and suggestion. i hope the video helped and if it did please hit that like button and or subscribe for more. i have that same van back due to spool valve leaking oil into it which they did not want to fix before but now they do so another alternator vc gasket and spool valve. going to be fun. with Honda i do them at least once a month. seems to be a common failure.

    Just did this yesterday on my daughter's van, pretty straightforward with only dealing w/ the tetris nature of getting the unit in and out. it is hard on your back though if you're not used to it

      @@AnythingAuto I'm getting too old for this hunched over fighting to pull out things LOL. Must be the weather because the week before my alternator crapped out on my 100 Series Land Cruiser and then hers (but hers has been dying for a long time and they ignored SMH)

    Thank you. Dealer estimated a 4 hour job. With my crap tools it might have been close. I bled the power steering afterwards since I lost a bunch of fluid.

    Great video. I just replaced the alternater on my 2011 Odyssey, weird thing is now it makes a small kind of "whistling sound" when I accelerate. Any idea what it could be? Thanks

      I wouldnt worry much if it has output and you dont smell anything. If its a parts store rebuilt its on borrowed time anyway as theyre all done in mexico with chinese parts. Always get the ones Denso rebuilds themselves, those are what the honda dealers sell but rock auto has em for half price or less. Youll get about 5yrs/50k out of those.

    Did you find fuse or relay for the alternator?

    • @AnythingAuto
      @AnythingAuto  Před rokem

      No, with this repair (being so common) with being so full of oil it needed to be replaced
