All those Tennessean met up in Shreveport, La on the way to liberate Texas. If your ever going thru there get off the interstate and drive through downtown. All the streets are named for the men who died at the Alamo. Travis, Bowie, Crockett, Edward's, etc. And the main street thru downtown, Texas Street of course.
@@johnchandler1687 John, I didn't know about the street names. We owe those brave men at least that honor. There is a William Parks listed as a defender of the Alamo which was also my grandfathers name. It is doubtful that we would be related, but I would be very proud to be.

Scotty, as a native Texan who moved to a different state I have to say that Texas has become another California in all the major cities. Good luck in Tn!

Weirdly Texas is a by product of tn founders & beliefs... but so many people flooded Texas it just made sense to go to Tennessee- as many Texans realize the property taxes don't match incomes and a 200k house appraises nearly double and the taxes are easily more than $1200 a month plus your mortgage!
My 3 acre lot with my small house and natural spring costed me $75 im property taxes last year.
For that price in California is just the filing fee.

Hey there Scotty, am an transplant from Texas living out here in the woods of Wisconsin; going on 15 strong years now. I've always yearned to connect with people who shared some, if not most of my viewpoints, a shared appreciation of what it means to be an American, and not having other people be easily offendend on hearing whatever a person has to say. The mentality and the regression of basic sense among my fellow Austinites, among my personal beliefs on overpopulation, and weather were huge factors in moving further up north. No plans on ever moving back out west. I am VERY happy on living out here ---- only the girlfriend and I, and access to a very beautiful river.

When I was about 20 years old I roamed around the US back roads in a van for about 7 months. Tennessee was, hands down, the friendliest state I went to. Every single day, at least one person, recognizing me as a young man on the road, asked if I was alright, if I needed a meal, a place to take a shower, or anything. Warms my heart to this day just thinking about it. Good choice Scotty.

Tennessee, I lived my teenage and early twenties there near Franklin, just south of Nashville. Itâs a beautiful state with backroads through endless rolling hills. A troubled addled youth, they literally saved my life with their virtually free state college. I will always be indebted to The Volunteer State.

If there were things growing in the garage in Houston for that long he would have had to move a long time ago. Lol. Everything in there he knew what was, where it was and what it was used for. Run your place how you want and spend time on neatness instead of skill and knowledge and you'll be half the mechanic.
@@johnbraucher1499 He had no idea what half the stuff in there was. In his garage cleanout videos, he often found things that he'd re-bought two or three times because he wasn't able to find the originals when he needed them!

Inspection Station workers always seemed confused when checking my Smart car out. They have trouble opening the hood, then get confused because the engine is in the back. Last guy didn't even look at the engine. He also broke off the cover to the fuel door (luckily it just pops back on I guess) after seeming confused when I told him there is no open button for it. It just locks and un locks with the car door locks (which weren't locked). When I had my 88 F150, the wind shield wiper knob was broke, so you could easily pop it off. I never fixed it, because the inspection guys always seemed rushed to finish after thinking they broke it... lol

Amir, we love visitors and if you ever get the chance to visit here you will be met by the average person quite warmly. I flew over Tehran one time on a flight to India and it blew my mind that I, as an American was over Iran. Pretty crazy!

well he was near downtown Houston....i don't blame him...but he could have lived in other parts of Houston with exactly what he was talking about getting in tennessee....trees, fresh air, no sirens....like Kingwood. Or he could have ventered just outside the county line to The Woodlands, TX.
