The biggest difference is that CZcams has a LOT more music. Uploaded remixes, mashups, unreleased versions, bootlegs, explicit language versions, music video audio with the scripting, karaoke versions, 12' or extended versions, imports... I can never find these versions on Spotify. They seem to only have radio versions. I like finding EVERYTHING not just canned radio.
You-Tube Music premium is constantly updating and getting better and better. I personally love it. There much more then this video shows now. Including 6 "your Mixes" and a super mix. And making your mixes constantly. It always recommends more things for your specific play list. I personally love it.
It also has more older songs than spotify
@@fbringiton I've had you tube music for a while but iam transferring to spotify. I have SONOS speakers through out the whole house and youtube music has a limit of 99 playlist on sonos controller. Can't even play my yt music playlist through sonos cause of the playlist limit:( this does not happens on the app itself though only when using sonos controller which I have to cause houtube music does not have option of casting straight to wifi speakers like spotify does. I have over 250 playlist of different genre. With spotify I don't even need to use sonos controller I can cast straight from app to sonos:) I do like youtube but unfortunately not working out for me and there is no way of talking to somebody if you need help which sucks.

I had the same problem as you, I really wanted to listen to maplestory bgm but spotify didn't have any, so I just converted them to mp3 with good audio, then went into spotify's local files, choose the file where I had the download mp3s, and bam, I could play them on my desktop. Then you just have to look up a tutorial on how to download those files onto your phone, its quite easy. CZcams doesn't have crossfade which is a godsent, and the audio quality in spotify is much better, ntm I can watch my favorite podcast joe rogan now which I usually did on youtube to sleep, now I can just set a sleep timer at the end of the episode.
I was trying to find an alternative to youtube since it kept censoring content creators, not to mention banning a youtuber with 5m+ subs for "bullying/hate speech" when he didn't have any previous strikes, glad I got spotify and unsubscribed from youtube premium, I suggest you do the same ;)

I have CZcams music and would say the opposite. I use Spotify free version and it is so much better than CZcams music premium it’s almost funny. That’s the PAID version of CZcams music is WORSE than the FREE version of Spotify.

I’ve been trying out CZcams music recently and I really do like it. I’ve been a Spotify user since day one which has been over 10 years. Unless there is a clear personal bias I see no way that CZcams music is better than Spotify. Spotify is still most definitely better. CZcams music does offer more songs but a lot of the additional songs that you can’t find on Spotify come in inferior audio quality on CZcams music because most of them were uploaded to CZcams with a crappy audio quality to begin with. Both platforms are very good but Spotify is still the better one.
@@davidmetcalf6946 Official song uploads on CZcams have equal sound quality to Spotify. Besides, CZcams Premium isn't required for infinite streams, and there even is a lyrics option

At the end of the day... CZcams Music has a HUGE advantage that Spotify will never have and that's being coupled with CZcams. Some of the service needs refinement, but that comes with time and it will eventually become more refined. I think it's a matter of time before CZcams Music grows in popularity

You actually can just like the podcast and then download it and you'll find it on your liked videos section on youtube music or on the youtube app under downloads.

Spotify is far better in terms of audio quality and features such as sleep timer, crossfade, exclusive podcasts that spotify bought, and other subtle things that is very convenient, such as remembering what speed I have podcasts set to, but it still sets my song speed as normal, and being able to download songs from youtube and have it play on spotify for offline use, the list goes on. Get a student or a family plan and its quite worth every penny.

@@halfwaysleet Not really, youtube premium actually gives you google podcasts. Audio quality doesn't make sense either, yt music has an eq in it to customize with speaker output, and also has the google broadcast feature.
I think 2 months ago Spotify was the superior although yt music's new update provides new super mixes that choose songs you'll like from specific genres and tastes.
That's just the yt music app too, you also get all the youtube premium movies, I just finished a solar car racing documentary which was dope.

CZcams Music has better catalogue for non-English language songs. Recently CZcams Music has a new student plan, which is slightly cheaper than Spotify.
@Aijaz Rasool You can still watch them on CZcams Music. You can even look up stuff that wouldn't be on Spotify. For example, I am able to find live performances or unreleased songs from my favorite artist and add them to my playlist as long as they're on CZcams.
Recently canceled Spotify after about a year and moved to YTM. CZcams music is better. I love that they allow you to upload all your purchased songs from your previous service. Uploaded all of my and my daughters songs from Itunes, our phones and computer. Plus YTM actually does have a much larger library of music. No contest.

I've been using Spotify for about 4 years now, what I like about it is that it (algorithm) knows me so much that pretty much every song it throws at me I ended up liking them. And the playlist suggestions are just genius and awesome. And I've been using CZcams Premium for about 3 months, and I like it but not as much as Spotify. CZcams music I think does not have an algorithm as powerful as Spotify as of right now.
CZcamss is better at it actually. Plus they find you more versions than Spotify as the Spotify library isn't as huge as youtube.
@@DSarDarkstar I have tried both. As a longtime Spotify user, you never underestimate the YT algorithm. However, YT will mix your music as well as video suggestions.
This isn't a problem for most, but a problem for me since I like to keep both separate. Sure, you can make a brand account, but it's very limited with the features.
Oh and also, Spotify doesn't have a hard-cap limit on how much songs/albums you have in your library anymore (excluding playlists and downloads which are still capped at 10k).
I believe YT still limits it to 5k, plus the liked songs are associated with your liked videos.

YT music is far superior, ai is great, I mean really great, for like 1k hours of music I had maybe 3 bad musics. Smart download is one of the best features of pro version, who is insane to download music by clicking download on hundreds of clips juts enable one option and music is downloaded automatically by ai. Also it is free with YT premium and it feels more like addition for YT premium unlike on Spotify where everything feels like you need to buy pro version because they complicate everything.

Just one issue I have with CZcams Music, and that is the ability to sort within my Playlists (Was Possible in Google Music) . If I open a Playlist, I would like to sort that Playlist by Artist or Song ext. Are there any way that I can do this basic feature?
This is the most informative, well paced, full featured video on these two services I've seen since last year when I first started wondering how these two stacked up against each other! I've been with Google Play Music for years but don't want CZcams integration at all. I'm seriously considering moving to Spotify, and this video has shown me that it may be the right choice.

There doesn't need to be any integration of CZcams. You just get no commercials with both for $11.99/mo. I use both and they work independently if you wish. 😎🤘

@@Ivan-mf3vw I'm using them on a pixel 4, it's small stuff like Spotify not being edge to edge on Android, so the navigation bar does not feel part of the app, the gestures in the app don't work as on iphone such as swiping up/down on the now playing menu to bring up the current song playing while all that is on CZcams music, I don't really feel that Spotify is "faster" they both feel the same while YT music feels smoother
@@noelalfaro I just went to yt.music a minute ago (windows 10) and it's just terrible. I have a little lag, and the library does not even search for my tracks (but it does not matter, now we are talking about speed). Spotify, in turn, works smoothly and quickly.

One thing that you didn't touch on is CZcams music not caching music (unlike play music did). Not sure if Spotify does. It is a killer not having it if you drive into low cell service areas without planning on music to download.
To me its always been a no brainer. The youtube premium is the reason I've always chosen Play/CZcams music. I don't care much about discovery or recommendations being an "old timer" who is pretty set into certain styles. As long as the music is there. Podcasts are easily found elsewhere and I don't see why the need for Spotify to mix them in. The only "cons" are I don't like when I am watching music on youtube and it tells me I should open it in YTM, and I don't really care for the videos mixed in YTM.
CZcams music is far superior. I used to love spotify and it is still a very good option. But at having the premium plan in CZcams, i have it all. Videos, music no ads. I don't understand why CZcams Music does not have more recognition and more coverage. And the good thing it still has more room to improvement, more than spotify which seems reached its height. I could be wrong though.
Trialed CZcams music free for a month and decided to make the switchover. The number of songs and remixes that are on CZcams music but not on Apple Music and Spotify is astonishing! No regrets

More features that this video doesn't mention about YTM: the lyrics tab when you're on any song is a game changer! Also youtube has just rolled out more daily mixes in a beta to certain users, I imagine they are testing out their ability to mix playlists like those of Spotify. They've shown up on my account and so far they're awesome!

@@katierina31 I actually don't have any experience with Spotify do I can't compare the two. But I did want to point out there were features in this video that he did not mention about YTM that I personally like as a user.
I have YTM bc I have ways been a Google Play user, and when they bundled it with YT premium I was grandfathered into the price I was already paying so I've never had a price raise on my subscription. I would highly recommend switching if you're already paying for YTP! Cut the spotify bill. I've found that there isn't any music I miss out on, plus it works better with my Google Home system.

@@katierina31 highly recommend YT Music. The library of music is endless, the quality of music is great, and the mixes CZcams Music puts together, at least in my experience, have been far better than spotifys. I use the supermix almost exclusively now.

You can also download covers of favorite songs in YT music which for a cover lover like me appreciates. There are a lot of covers of songs I liked where I (and many people) wanted a spotify version.

What about sound quality? Seems something often overlooked these days, but I just can't stand overly compressed music (for instance, I noticed that if I ask my google home to play music on Spotify, the sound quality will be crap, while if I start a song on Spotify and use my Google home as a Bluetooth speaker, quality will be what you expect)

Personally CZcams Music is vastly better for me since Spotify is missing a lot of music I love. Sometimes it's not that Spotify doesn't have it too because sometimes they have it but it's grayed out
CZcams music streaming quality is miles ahead of Spotify, I agree Spotify is just much easier to find something new and that alone is a nice reason to stick with it but I just couldn't stay with them after hearing such a difference

ive been using youtube for ages and have a lot of playlists, do they integrate on youtube music? in dread the idea of remaking all those playlists because that will take ages..
So I have the CZcams Music app on my phone (don’t care for it) and I’m trying to see it there’s a way to buy albums or songs - is there a way to do that? I can’t seem to figure out if there’s a way to just purchase what I want because streaming/renting music for a monthly fee is something I don’t ever plan on doing and this one issue is the reason I’m holding off on becoming an android user.
in that case, just get tubemate or some similar free app, its more inconvenient to navigate and download songs however, but after you have your library you won't have to bother paying a monthly fee.
I just use spotify cause its a dollar 50 a month for me with a student plan, whlist living in a location where its cheap. U could try getting a family plan on spotify as well, i def recommend it
2:25 Here is my biggest (not only) issue with these services. Using Google Play Music, I could buy individual songs and then stream them online OR download them to my device so I can listen offline. Neither Spotify nor CZcams allows this. If I want to download music THAT I PAID FOR WITH MY OWN MONEY then I have to PAY THEM to do it. Could you fucking imagine buying a car and having the dealer say "You can drive it anywhere you want, but if you want to park it at your house we charge $10 per month for that."
Basically... if I'm anywhere that I can't get a decent cell signal I can't have my music collection. CZcams and Spotify believe it's not my fucking right to have what I bought. It belongs to them somehow. Absolutely, positively and without any hesitation: Fuck them.

@@rogerclarke4760 They're definitely pushing a lot of people to Bandcamp and Amazon (if Amazon still sells individual songs like they used to) and whatever else still exists that offers proper downloads, and where that doesn't work, to piracy of course.
What I HATE about Spotify is that it doesn't have some sort of "Discover Daily" with ONLY new songs, it' would be like "Discover Weekly" + "Daily Mix", it would be PERFECT.

1 year later, YT Music has 6 daily mixes + 1 massive supermix combining all of your tastes into 1 playlist, something that Spotify doesn't have. On top of that, it has much more music, and Spotify's goal is to make you absolutely miserable without premium. One thing they don't tell you about being a free user is that they'll interrupt any playlist you're listening to (including your liked songs) with "suggested songs". Are these songs very similar to your specific tastes that Spotify thinks you'll like? Nope! It's all whatever's currently charting in the mainstream such as Ed Sheeran, Olivia Rodrigo, BTS, Glass Animals, etc. If you're a free user, you should ALWAYS go with YT Music. Their ads are also much shorter and skippable after 5 seconds, while Spotify has unskippable 30 second ads, and also plays up to 3 or 4 in a row.

I had You Tube Red/Google Play Music which became You Tube Premium / You Tube Music. Not having ads while watching You Tube is so worth it. You Music works for me but I mostly play from my own library on my phone.
That's funny, I already have no-ads CZcams by using AdBlock Plus for free. But if you really want to pay a "protection tax" to have them _not_ show garbage that you didn't ask for on the screen that you own and control, sure, go ahead. :)
I used to like playing my liked songs on YTM, I loved it when tutorials and general YT videos started playing. I especially liked it when a potato quality song plays instead of album quality. Spotify is leaps and bounds ahead of YTM. YTM and YT need to be separate entities.
Great compare video! Does Amazon Music even come close to either of these? Never tried it. Do either Spotify or YTMusic have a PWA interface? Much easier to use anywhere.
Amazon music is OK but it's not worth it ala carte. You'd be better off getting an Amazon prime membership

YTM doesn't allow adding multiple songs to playlist, needing to add songs one by one to playlists drives me crazy...
Just add the album to your library.. Then it will add all the songs on it.
7 months later, thanks for making this video. I've had Spotify for years, recently got CZcams Premium for ad free videos, and trying to decide if it's worth dropping Spotify and getting CZcams Music

@@tausendsonnen I stuck with Spotify. Apparently CZcams Music has a bigger selection of music but I like Spotify's UI better. I also don't like how the only way to add songs to your "liked" playlist is to like a video, which is messy and confusing for me since I'm also "liking" non-music videos.
If you can find a friend that's up for it, Spotify now has a "Duo" plan that's $12.99 for two people. That's what I currently do with my partner and I like it for that price

As long as Spotify has a higher sound quality than CZcams music .. I will stick to Spotify.

I used to have Spotify then I tried YT music and i am never going back to Spotify. The selection is much for the kind of music I like to listen to however if you listen very popular music you won't see any difference in that regard

@@SquidCena lol, I mean it has basically all of the mainstream songs, and you can also download the songs that are missing that you listen to from CZcams and download them to listen on spotify.

Its a chrome progressive web app. If you go to CZcams music on chrome you should see a pop-up to download it.
where is the youtube desktop app?
Just downloaded CZcams Music and transferred my music from Google Music to their YT Music platform. I can now retain my original music lists and can search music from CZcams instead of using file conversion apps (I.e. Musi).
Big big fan of YT Music now.

Sadly though Spotify's queue feature is atrocious. Really turned me off of the app (on top of some oddball technical issues).

CZcams Music uses CZcams as a source as well so the variety is amazing. Even if you would look up some weird song you heard in your childhood 20 years ago it would still be in there.
