Being a clean country may be perfect for going barefoot too lol...thanks
Looks a fun barefoot day!
@badddkattt It was a lot of fun 🙂
You keep teasing us but will you give us a face reveal one day.
@Alphamon27 The face of the channel is feet. If you have felt teased, it wasn't intentional.
How barefoot friendly is Rwanda?
@uncipaws7643 That's a good question. I got the usual stares for being both white and barefoot. I did hear "muzungu", but I cannot say for sure that nothing was said about my bare feet since we don't understand the language. Also, I didn't see anyone else going barefoot. So I don't know well, but my guess would be not barefoot friendly due to our vast experience in Tanzania and how rigid things can be in Rwanda (especially if I went into a shop or some place like that).
@@barefoothomestead I'm asking because I was told the regime wanted the country to appear modern, clean and certainly not "backwards". Which means that traditionally built houses are replaced by concrete buildings, even though those can't cope with the heat without air-conditioning (including all the problems going along with it, environmental, cost, they can break, they require a stable electrical grid ...). And apparently going barefoot is another "traditional" thing that's frowned upon, even though it's practical and economical, healthy and fun. Now I've never been there so I wonder how things actually are. (I guess you will get strange stares in many parts of the world but if that's all it's a small price to pay ...)
But any of your family attended the tour ?🤔😊
@croquembouche We were all together cheering on the bikers, off camera. It was fun for all of us!
Understood!!!i thought that a member of your family was racing😊you never miss to visit the local market !!... is that Rwanda where there is the famous park where you can admire the gorillas in freedom ?
@croquembouche One of the things Rwanda is known for is the gorillas so it probably is... I certainly love visiting markets! 🙂
Nice video.did you bruise your right big toe???
@larrymitchell6001 Good eye!! Yes I did. A bench fell on it a while ago. The mark is slowly rising over time 😀

I always thought Rwanda had a law that banned bare feet in public?
@adstalga Not that I know of, and no one forced us to put on shoes. Maybe it depends on where you are in public? Nevertheless, everything was just fine.
@@barefoothomestead Did you bring any shoes to Rwanda?
@adstalga I always travel with slippers for my children. If I run into shoe police, they can briefly put on slippers, while the adults deal with such police. I find this wise that's why I carry them. Nevertheless, I have not run into any police so far.
@@barefoothomestead But you don't have any footwear for yourself??
@adstalga No, my husband and I didn’t take footwear for ourselves on the trip.
