Anthony I have listened to many podcast ,talking heads discussing West career since his passing..You hit it out the park 1000% correct...He absolutely hated the relationship and he never was a fan of Phil's behaviors ,push for more power off the sidelines.
He tutelage under Bill Sharmin, he was a tough dude, didn't bite his tongue...
We will never know all the facts surrounding him Jeanie & Dr.Buss..

When I was in high school my mom was trying to get tickets to a Lakers game and was put on hold by the box office, and when she was taken off hold the person on the other line was Jerry West… My mom was shocked, and he told her he was walking by and saw the call on hold and decided to pick it up… She said they talked for about 15 minutes and he brought up with her that they were in talks with Dennis Rodman and he asked her what she thought of the move… I remember coming home from school and my mom telling me that story, and than shortly after that they signed Rodman… She said he was very nice and kind and he didn’t draw attention to who he was until she said to him that his voice was very familiar and that he sounded just like Jerry West… That’s when he confirmed to her that he was Jerry West… My mom was very sad when I told her that he had passed… It’s too bad he and the Lakers never buried the hatchet
