    Love my ZX14R. It is almost a 'one gear' motorcycle most of the time. What I love about this vid is you never downshifted...it was 6th gear all the time. I TRY to explain to my car driving friends how easily these make speed, even in 6th gear, and there is just no way. The stability, solidity, and torque makes these speeds so darn easy. Oh, and kudos to the car drivers for actually obeying traffic laws and getting out of your way. Here in the US we have road warriors that like to sit in the left lane and block faster vehicles.

      scottieray thanks - thats all true what you say about this bike - amazing machine. As for people blocking lanes which supposed to be “fast” , believe me its bad here. But not because they are “road warriors” . Because they have no understanding of concept how motorway driving in lanes supposed to work. Seems like its not taught in driving schools ( cant vouch for that because i am not a native Irishman)

    Speed doesn't kill -shit driving/riding does. I'd rather share the road with this guy who can handle a bike at 175mph+ than the kind of idiot who does 40mph in a 60 zone and then 40mph in a 30 zone whilst not even being aware of the road in front of them and constantly braking in panic. The police/law should concentrate on that kind of moronic driving more than the competent speed freak who is looking a mile down the road ahead of them and evading all danger. Good riding dude. Own a ZZR14 myself - may be biased in my opinion, but screw the Nanny State and its slowest speed limits in the world. \M/

    • @nopcnightmares
      @nopcnightmares Před 4 lety

      Edit: Realised you are actually riding in Eire (by the road signs?) - I'm in the UK and we have 5mph less than southern Ireland on motorways, UK motorway speed limits are ridiculously slow - how can we let the Germans have all the fun?! - I got 9 points on my license once thanks to my job as a service engineer and 50,000+ miles a year through the Orwellian speed camera systems and unmarked car surprises and had to spend a while actually driving at 70mph to ensure I kept my license - i actually found it more dangerous to drive at 70mph after a 3 hour morning drive and 8 hours of fixing machinery because it was so incredibly slow and monotonous that it was sending me to sleep. SPEED LIMITS KILL.

I think you could sit at 186 mph in 5th gear!!! if the roads & law allowed it for miles and miles with ease. What a pleasure to ride,own & when the time comes if I can afford it the only bike I will get is a Gen 2 and sit the Gen 1 in the garage and just look at it for hours :)

      @@rolandsv8 bro in the usa youd get thrown to the ground and handcuffed, and your bike impounded and crushed, and thousands of dollars in fines, possible jail time, losing your license.. They hate speeders here, doesnt stop me. I ride the same bike as you, and I ride it in a very similar manner, the way you think about and respond to traffic patterns seems very similar to my own just by watching how you react to things.

    That's onw WICKED bike. The first (and only) time I rode one, it was my brother's and I'd had bike license for three months and my little Ninja 300 (my first bike) for one. I didn't even have courage to go over 80mph on it, and twisted the throttle minimally, scared of the savage power. Today I'd have the guts to accelerate it a tad harder, but my brother sold it. Will have to wait until I can buy one myself. =/

      @rolandsv8  Před 6 lety +1

      ryvoltz hehe- i know the feeling when you get from small bike to something like this. But comparatively zzr is very easy and relaxing to ride. Try Hayabusa- that is like a tractor with nuclear engine. Demands extreme concentration in the beginning

    • @ryvoltz
      @ryvoltz Před 6 lety

      Finally someone agrees with me on that. I always thought the ZZR had a sport-touring feel, despite its immense power. On the other hand, many people recommend I get a Hayabusa for my next bike becase it's a sport-touring bike (yeah, right), but it always felt much more of a superbike, especially the sitting position. "Easy" and "relaxing" are words that come to my mind when I ride my FZ6R (or XJ6F here in Brazil). Twice the power of the little Ninja, but I find it much more docile. Enjoy your ZZR for me! =P Cheers!

    • @rolandsv8
      @rolandsv8  Před 6 lety +1

      ryvoltz how is Hayabusa sport touring and zzr - not?? You are right - hayabusa sitting position is pretty much like sportsbike. Hard for legs on longer journeys. Big Hayabusa fairing offers better wind and rain protection. Zzr has more room for legs and more straight for back. But because you sit straighter, your bottom gets numb pretty quickly -

    • @ryvoltz
      @ryvoltz Před 6 lety

      Strange you should say that. When I rode it, it felt like I could ride for hours no problem. But I'm a maniac; it took me less than a month to run in (1000 miles) my little Ninja 300. So maybe I'm suspicious to talk about riding comfort.

    add a bigger rear sprocket and you'll bet 200mph :-)

    • @rolandsv8
      @rolandsv8  Před 5 lety

      Unfortunately opportunities to use that speed is nearly nonexistant. So standard sprocket will do fine- and will keep better acceleration. I got to 190 mph on speedometer with a higher profile 55 tyre . Was no sigh of limiter yet. Because of that tyre i reckon i could have been over 300km/h
