Considering they've been around since 96 you'd think more people would know who they are, especially being a Gothenburg band. Love Evergrey. Been part of the circle since In Search of Truth. Epically under rated.

Yep. In search of truth and Recreation Day are their peak. Although they've still maintained their dark melodic sound through the years. My favorite band.

A digital modeler into the PA will never match the power and balls you feel from a kick ass tube setup on stage.

Fuck all of those sterile digital modeling amps. They're convenient to use at home as practice amps, but they don't sound like real tube amps do for live performance.

@@TheMetalOG70 Yes.....but, A boss Katana MK Artist ain't bad. Ive been using one a lot, when tweaked it can sound really good. I actually prefer it over playing a modeler though PA or studio monitors. I'd still prefer a Mesa Mark series amp though.
I have that exact same (1990s) 2x12 vertical Mesa/Boogie cab. My god they sound brutal. Will never let mine go.
Cool man. Are there EV speakers in those cabs?
I have mad respect to Bassists to keep their setups real simple.
Henrik's Bogners are earthy and throaty sounding with massive amounts of gain. And the master's hands. Sounds wicked when you dig into it.
I'm a huge fan of Evergrey since Solitude Dominance Solitude. That voice! Oh man! Tom is unique. This theater reminds me of A night to remember DVD, one of my favorites shows in decades! Thx Ola, truly Christmas gift!

I’ve said it for years, those old Mesa Boogie metal grill cabs are awesome. Gear snobs ignored them because they looked to metal. GE Smith used one for The Wall tour. They’re not just for metal
They look so awesome with the Uberschall on top ! For some weird reason those old Mesa cabs remind me of Metallica of And Justice For All era !
@@anahowana There was an old photo that Mesa used of Kirk from that era where he's leaning on one. Justice era was the first thing I thought of when I saw them.

I happened upon Evergrey just over 4 years ago when I heard "Passing Through", and for the love of all things in the World I couldnt understand how I didnt discover them before. I never read about them in the magazines I got, never noticed them online. Well, that utterly changed when I bought their entire catalogue and loved it all. Music thats passionate and cinematic that deserves Arena status. I cannot get over how underrated they are. Just bloody Brilliant.
So glad you guys fired up those Bogners

I first saw Evergrey back in 2004, in Istanbul. I did not know anything about the band, got in love, bought most of their albums after that festival. I hope they remember that show, because there was a huge storm behind the crowd, and Tom kept saying that the view was spectacular. Amazing band, their presence on stage is simply awesome. Thanks for this vlog Ola!

Caught these guys here in Virginia with Nevermore (the Loomis/Broderick era) in 2005 or so. It was one of those shows I look back at and at the time didn't appreciate what I saw.

Now those are nice rigs , I bought the same amp and cab some years ago when they did a gear rundown on the Evergrey CZcams channel , that was before Hendrik had the Helios , also that’s about the time I started playing floyd rose bridges , hope to see them live again in the near future . Epic band

Great guitar tones, but he needs a cable change. I had the same problem, and some custom path cables makes to use no more noise gate.
I tought Ola was gonna play the Top Gun Anthem on that stage

Fuck that makes me want to go see them. The only time I did I missed most of their set because dumbass House Of Blues in Hollywood (RIP though...) opened the doors at the same time they went on so by the time I got through the line it was too late.
I miss the 80's when Marshall and Mesa Boogie were the two main high quality amp brands - now there's 97 boutique amp companies with heads that list for $3000 to $5000+.

True ! But Thanks God tone is not a matter of money ! Sure you can fork out the cash for some sturdy amps with top tier components, but you can get great tone for cheap ! By cheap I mean anything from 400 to $900

Putting the string in backwards is actually a little safer......I dont remember the last time I changed strings and didn't end up bleeding.
Can't say I've ever bled when changing strings. 😂
