- Yep, we’re granting Suppy's wish and actually building a Honda. BUT… it ain’t just any Honda. No, this right here came from Honda Performance Development telling us that they have an IndyCar engine for us - and that we should swap it into something cool. Who are we to say no to a request like that!?

My dad was the Superintendent for the general contactor who built this facility, during the summers I worked there as a labor. Those dyno rooms are supposed to be soundproof. Towards the end of the project Honda came in a tested motors. It was amazing, you could hear them screaming anywhere in the warehouse.
That's awesome, out of all the engines tested it was the Hondas that you could hear scream.
They did that so you can't hear the engineers getting beat after their project fails.
that motor is definitely capable of revving out to 10-12k and making 680-750hp, throw it in something that won’t shred the tires and will actually hook up and slay a track

As a Ridgeline owner and Hoonigan enjoyer this is by far and away a BOLD move, not alot of love for these in the community but im excited to see this. I have an 18 Sport AWD and it has been nothing short of entertaining even with the paltry 280hp, even happily gets to 114 with plenty left in 6th and can get down a backroad faster than youd expect. hope this gets us some aftermarket tuning attention and maybe some stuff in the Hooningan shop

@@basedemt6608 I've seen the explorer and edge ST's they are gnarly with minor work, yeah the 17+ Ridgeline uses the j35y6 which is direct injection and of all the platforms using it the 15+ TLX is the only one with half assed support from k-tuner 😑, we can't even use the same bolt-ons the other j35s can because everything is different. It would be nice if they tossed in the new j30T in the Ridgeline but I doubt that 😒

First good idea here. That would be awesome
The problem with anything like a Civc, Integra, or S2k, is that you have to run the IndyCar transmission too - and that transmission is also part of the chassis. So you have to run it mid-engine, and that would leave you without room for a driver.
So you decided on a Ridgeline? Do you even know your audience? If only Honda made a cool mid engine car to put this in…

Here’s my idea, just throwing this out there. (Haven’t read any of the other comments yet) How about creating a Type R Ridgeline?
Lowered, Adjustable Suspension or Air Ride, Type R Style body kit, slightly wider flares, 20-22” wheels, leaning towards the Civic Type R Anime look. True Triple Pipe Exhaust. Six to 8 speed sequential gear box, RWD or AWD if the motor can take it. Sort of like a Honda Ridgeline Hoonitruck.
You're really, really close to the final concept of what we want to make this thing into...
Suppy has gone from being camera shy to one of the best vloggers on the channel. I think Alex had a lot to do with that as well. They seem to work incredibly well together. He seems to really be in his element and embrace his fun side that we didn't see as much a few years ago.

As a Ridgeline owner and life long Hoonigan subscriber and lover… I am very excited about this. The Ridgeline platform really doesn’t get any love from the streets, and people underestimate Honda all the time. I think this is gonna be so sick guys. I have been waiting forever to see someone do a Honda Indy car engine swap in something but for the price of these engines I thought it would never happen. Kinda wish it was one of the older v10 or v12 versions but I'm sure the newer engines are way better and lighter. Can't wait to hear this thing rev to the moon it's gonna b nuts.

Making the Del Sol finally a mid-engine car that it always should've been, but with an indy car engine was what I was thinking at first.
Weight wise would help as well. Moving that big Ridgeline with a 2.2L V6 and tiny clutch will be challenging. Let's see what happens.
Would have nice to have a 5 minute video (Layout, Engine, Suspension ect.) of their HONDA ACTY "ATTACK" KEI Truck!

Man, i love hoonigan! One of the only channels on youtube that always brings all to the table! Sick builds, tv quality content, and everyone working on the projects are cool! No showing off or anything! Just cool down to earth people working on stuff they love!

baby Honda fanboy here and this build got me all smiling and laughing. Suppy's joy and enthusiasm are contagious and I wish yall the best of luck with this build. NSX, Civics, s2k would've been cool but too predictable, so I'm glad that the Ridgeline got coincidentally chosen. I think the best vehicle would've been an Odyssey tho cuz who the hell expects to slide the minivan doors open and see an HPD Indycar car motor chilling there and get that thing to bogey
In house hoonigan content how I've missed you.
A 1970 Honda trail 70 was the first motorcycle I ever rode (still have it), and a 97 civic was my first car where I learned to wrench on stuff. Still driving a Honda daily in a 10th gen Si. I resto-modded the 1970 mini bike with an engine and suspension swap on modern trials tires on the original wheels and original folding bars so it fits in the trunk still. We use a Honda PWC to play on the lake in the summer that has a super bike like scream, and a Honda mower helps me with the yard work. Occasionally take a 2009 Honda dual sport around town or the trails. Launch the Honda PWC with a Honda ATV too. Did I mention how much I like Honda?

You had us in the first half😂💀 A RIDGELINE?!? Gtfoh this was definitely Poopy’s idea. One of those TLXs would be way more capable and you could still do the rear engine. The only way it’d be crazy would be if you got a widebody kit *for a ridgline* and lowered it,big wing and big jonnies.

I went to the NASCAR race last year in Fontana CA, and the Rolls, Camaro, and Warthog were there. They looked and sounded awesome.

Can totally fit that in an integra.. the dashboard has mad depth. You can chop firewall and move it back atleast 6 inches. You would have to mid mount pedals and drive from the back of that shyt. Forgot to add.. while you're at it, might as well make it a time attack car that can gap all the higher classes..

It’s really cool to see that Honda adapted cosworth’s small engine test method, and I really hope that some day we’ll get to see a race series out of all the single cylinder F1 spec engines.
Was so excited to see an indy V6 build instead of the usual k20s, 2jz, LS, or an Audi I5 and then we get to the shell and what is it?! A Ridgeline. 😑🤦🏾♂️ But it's being built by Hoonies so it'll most likely be good.
Before you take it to SEMA can you swing by our shop here in Las Vegas so we can throw it on the Dyno and play with it in our yard PLEASE!!!!. This is going to be a sick build.

This goes into an Acura NSX ty it fits yes
Make it a off road work truck Sleeper. Put a welder and air compressor in the front, tool compartment etc. Stick it on some big fatty wheels and make it do sick burnouts
