- I love, love, LOVE my Pom Pom makers.
They are the Clover brand and in this video I will show you how to use them and the size differences between them.
Thanks for checking it out!

Hint that works for me. I wet the yarn I tie it with. Seems to hold the knot tighter while you tie.
Excellent tip! I’m going to try it. Thank you!
I’m going to try it also, thank you!
Thanks for sharing this very helpful tip 😊
You do a great job instructing. Such a happy voice, too!
Thank you 😍
I just purchased the Clover Maker in a 3 size pack. After watching another video that only provided a visual without audio, I got confused, so I found your video, and your instructions were perfect! I just made my very first pom-pom and I'm delighted! Thank you!
Awesome!
Thanks for showing how to have multiple colors. It's fun hearing the happiness in your voice as you teach, too. :)

Agreed
Danke. Ich habe die Dinger schon gesehen, öfter. Aber hatte keine Ahnung, wie sie funktionieren. Geheimnis gelüftet 😀😀😀.
I like the way you layered the yarn when going around. I haven’t used mine for about 7 or 8 years. Lucky I knew where they were. I made a multicolored one and I took both yarns and done it at the same time. I will definitely use your method next time to see how it looks. Thank you for the video.
Hi! It was fun watching you make a pompom! You do it almost exactly as I do. I have two little tips for you. One is, if you want to make a really cute pompom, and you don't have quite so much time or patience for all that wrapping/winding, Take all 3 or 4 colors that are in the hat and tie them all together at the end..... then start a pompom, winding all the colors at once, and you'll have all the same evenly spaced out colors as in a hat...very quickly! It's really cute! The 2nd tip is something I learned from a show on TV. When you need a knot to be tight, and not pull loose before you can get the 2nd knot tied..... Just go down and under once and then go a second time....and pull that tight around the pompom. It doesn't pull back out like it does if you just go once around. Once I started using this for knitting, I decided I would use it on a bunch of other things, like wrapping Christmas presents, Etc. I guess that's an old butcher's secret from when they used to tie up the meat in a little package. It really works wonderfully! Thank you so much for your video. We'll done ! God Bless, Cookie
Thank you so much for these awesome tips! I for sure will put them to use. I appreciate you taking the time to explain it! Thank you 🥰

Ditto! I could not understand the pictures. This video taught me what to do in a way I could understand.
This is a terrific video and you’re a fine teacher. I did purchase the Clover maker. I didn’t even bother reading their directions.

This is great I do have some clover pom pom makers but not used them yet Your tutorial has given me confidence to try them. Thank you
You are very welcome! I love them! 😍
Me Too! Really appreciate this.
When I was a kid I did a lot of small crafts like this. I made my own out of cardboard or posterboard. Worked the exact same way. lol Now there's a tool. : )
Yes I remember the days. 🙂
Cookie - I'm glad you mentioned when making the first knot, to wrap it twice before pulling it tight. It's called a surgeon's knot, and it will not slip as you finish making the second part of the knot.
Only one other thing...we are making pompons, not pompoms!!
I never heard of pom pons before so I looked it up. Lol Interesting!
*The English word pom-pom came about in the 18th century from the French word pompon, which referred to a small decorative ball made of fur, feathers, ribbon, wool or string.
Its so much easier than useing cardboard.thankyou for that
😃
thanks it work out great
This is the first video of yours that I've watched (I'm making a beanie for my brother and wanted to try out a pompom for the first time) and you are absolutely delightful. Definitely subscribed and will be back for more. Thank you for being so cheerful and showing us all of these things. ♥
Thank you so much!
Please come and join my FB group as well.
I’d love to have you there.

Thank you and your welcome!
Thank you , For show how to use them . I just make my first one for the beanie/ hat I made before the pom, pom.
Great help watching this video. Thank you !!
You're welcome!😊
VERY cool!! Thx for the maker demo.:)
Your very welcome 😍
Thank you for this tutorial! You went at a nice speed and showed all pertinent parts of the process.
Your very welcome!
Thank you 😊
I have the same set. My scissors didn't fit so I used an Exacto knife to cut the multiple layers of yarn. I like the different colors in the poms!
I’d be scared to cut the plastic and then have it constantly snag the yarn. You can buy cheap pointy scissors from the dollar store if you have that where you are from.
Thank you sooo much for your tutorial!,
Your very welcome! 😊
I am so glad I found your video I purchase 2 pom pom maker I can't wait to use mind❤❤
I love my clover pom pom makers. Have fun!
Thank You so much for sharing this. I hope you make more pom pom videos. I am new to your channel, & making pom poms. I tried to make some by hand, but it fell apart. I thought I was going to give up. Someone was very nice to get one for my birthday ❤
I love my clover pom pom makers. Thanks for watching. 🥰

Thank you! I got some similar to this but they had no instructions so I didn’t know how to use them
Glad I could help!
I love the colors
Thank you
Thanks for tutorial. I usually cut lengths of my colours. ## measure from left hand top of fingers, holding yarn. Stretch out your arms outwards straight accross. Now turn back and measure yarn same length.### you can do as many times as you wish. Note if it's more than one colour, then measure the same lengths. MUCH QUICKER TO WIND AND FILL THE MAKER. YOU CAN DO EACH COLOUR s per your demo. Or all together for a different look. AS YOU HAVE 2 SIDES TO FILL MAKE MEASUREMENT TO MATCH THE OTHERSIDE. ENJOY 81 yr old crafter.😮❤❤
@@florencecox2022 thank you for sharing! 81 years old… yay!! 😀
I've tried wetting the tie thread, surgeon knot and pulling as tight as I can. STILL, if I pull on one of the threads it easily pulls out.Is this normal. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
If you pull on a thread it will come out but if you have tied it very tight and then don’t pull on individual strands then it will stay in place.
That's a good tutorial pom pom maker. Someone give me some yarn a d plus this. I didn't have any idea what is that. Thanks for making a good pom pom.
I made two perfect pompous then it was downhill from there. The Pom Pom maker kept coming apart especially after I had finished wrapping both sides. Very disappointing. I ruined at least one ball of yarn trying over and over again. I am now using 2 empty toilet tolls and it’s working perfect.
Maybe you have a faulty pom pom maker. Sorry it hasn’t worked for you. I love mine.
I just couldn't allow myself to spend the money on these because I didn't really have a need for pom poms, but I just bought a set because they're 50% off at Michael's this weekend.
I'm making some Easter bunnies and now they will have perfect poofy tails. And this is so much easier than making them the old fashioned way. 😊
I was just thinking, they could be made to attach to key rings. That would make it easier to find your keys in a purse or shopping bag. Seems to me I saw something like that years ago. (I'm pretty old)
Perfection
Gracias!!
😊
What scissors are you using?! It literally took me 45 minutes yo cut through a pom I made earlier, seemingly one strand at a time.
These are Wiltshire but I also have small pointed scissors from the dollar store and the are excellent. Pointed on the end. Not round.
Cheers!
🙂
If you pull on the pompom threads do you find that they do pop out anyway?....I thought the pompom tool would stop that from happening. Did I make an error along the way for that to happen? I did draw my strings very tight .
If you pull hard then yes they will come out. But if you snug up the tie tight enough they will stay. (Unless you pull them! Haha)
I had bought two sizes but never used them. Thank you.
Your welcome! I love them!
I'm using the smallest size and doubled fingering weight acrylic yarn. It shows where i tied it, not a nice full ball like yours. What am I doing wrong?
All I can think of is that you need thicker yarn. Or you are not adding enough yarn.
If you pull on one and it comes out how do the strands of yarn not come out during wear or washing ?
You’re not pulling on the individual strands when wearing or washing.
They do not come out. I make the tying yarn very tight.
Can you tell me what scissors you are using? I do not have a sharp pair. Thank you!
I bought a cheap pair of pointed Fiskar scissors from the dollar store! They work beautifully!
Thank you for this video. I never noticed these. Have you tried the furry wool? They come out so nice. I actually use my fingers too, that's how my mom taught me to do it. Mom was making all of our winter hats scarves and gloves when we were little with cute pompoms LOL I loved them.
I have not tried the furry wool on the pom pom maker but…….. I sure am going to try!! ❤️
How do you tie the pompom on so that it doesn’t flop around? I can never get it right!
Watch this video and I will show you what I do.
czcams.com/video/oFOyq9SvHIA/video.htmlsi=5mDxasKHNRHkeu7g
Dollar tree now has the three sizes
Excellent!😊
I fear it will come apart in the wash... I can see the where I tied it... is it possible I didn't use enough yarn?
Yes that’s a possibility. You shouldn’t see where you tied it. Wrap the piece so it’s full. Look again at how full I wrap mine.
And can you provide a link to somewhere that we can buy the needles you use--the ones with the wire loop at the end? I can't seem to find them on Amazon or at my Michael's. Thank you!
Aluminum Alloy Wool Knitting Needles.
They came up right away on Amazon but I can’t see a link to copy.
I buy mine at Walmart.
Type in wool needles and you should get quite a few options.
Thank you!
How do you know the size that each one makes? Like which one is1.75?
I show all the sizes in the video and tell you the numbers on the back. Not sure of the how big they all are in inches (circumference).
I cannot get the Pom Pom to stay together after I take off the maker. Please help
Watch exactly what I do. That’s all I can really say. Make sure you tie it really tight. If you pull on the strands then of course they will come out. If you don’t pull on them they will be fine.
Fabulous tutorial! Love your hat too. Could you share the pattern?
Thank you. It’s on my channel.
czcams.com/video/g5NWk_b1lzg/video.htmlsi=aqRP9oo1GY1X34Vl
Can you use a bulkier yarn than worsted? I just made a beanie with lion brand hometown yarn which is a super bulky 6 weight. Would a pom work for this yarn to coordinate with my hat? Thanks
Oh for sure!
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet awesome! Thanks!
I’m guessing that you need to make the pom-pom removable when you wash the hat, right?
@@kellymousley no you really don’t. If it’s acrylic it will wash beautifully. But removing it is an option to keep it looking nicer for longer.
I purchased my Pom pom makers from Kmart.
Exacto knife or single edge razor blade. Sharper than scissors & easier on fingers.
Thank you for the suggestion 🥰
How much yarn for a Pom Pom?
I can’t tell you accurately. Watch how I make it and try and determine from there. The biggest one takes quite a bit but still …. not a huge amount.
Your little Pom Pom looks like a macaron right before you remove it! Adorable 🥰
Hahaha!
Cosset a bulkey scarf
Sorry, I don’t understand
Unfortunately you don't demonstrate how to continue to thread the wool to the next half of the pom pom.
You cut the end and do the other half exactly the same way.
Did I not show that ? I’ll have to check again.
