This is beautiful! Your instructions are awesome easy to follow. Do you have written pattern? Eg how many rows per square and total amount of rows per panel?
Thank you so much! No I do not. Sorry. There is a transcript that can be followed at the end of the description below the video.
Thanks for a super tutorial, as usual. I discovered a "new" closure technique by accident, litterally by making a mistake with the traditional kitchener stitch. Perhaps it is already known, but I haven't seen it doen anywhere else yet and it makes for a beautifully flat edge, perfect for attaching a fringe to. As I mentioned, I was trying to follow your tutorial and instead of going in and then out, I went out and then in, then out through the opposite stitch that I had come in through, etc etc etc. Exactly the opposite of how you explain the Kitchener, so I have called it the "reverse kitchener stitch". So instead of creating a seamless end joining the one half to the other, it creates a flat edge. When you get to the end of the row, just sinch the work to the desired width, as with this technique you will end up with a "non-stretchable" end, so you can decide how "stretchy" you want it before tying off your yarn end. As I mentioned, it attaches the two sides together perfectly flat, with very even spaces to attach a fringe. It is really pretty even without a fringe. I hope this has somehow made some sense. Do give it a try and make a tutorial for us. No need to credit me at all, just something I discovered by making a mistake. Hope you have a super day.
Thank you for your comment. The purpose of the Kitchener stitch is not to create a flat edge but to make the end look like a normal stitch. Like the work really has no end, so to speak. I have been considering removing this video because the more I think about it the more I donât like how it looks. I stitched it too tight. I will give your suggestion a try.
Your tutorial explains it beautifully and your end result is great. I have used the proper kitchener stitch often for creating the seamless join, almost invisible connection. This was just another option for closing a tube end. Besides for a scarf, it could also work for a blanket. Anyway, I just wanted to share. Thanks again for all your hard work to teach us. :)
I am so glad that you did. I am definitely going to try it. Iâll post it if I can do it justice as you have explained. đ
Sadly I am not on Facebook otherwise I would have joined your thriving community of like-minded crafters and posted some fotos there. Knowing you you'll try it right away. đ I have already learned SO much from you!
Whatâs your first name? I just see kleintoon
Well... first attempt didn't work. Somehow, my body came out way too small. Idk what I did wrong. Looks more like a snowman than a koala.
Oh thatâs too bad. Maybe your tension was too tight. Sorry it didnât work for you.
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet I'll try again. It just won't be done before VBS this weekend... our theme is Australia, so I was hoping to get it done, but unless I hyper focus, I won't.
Oh my, yet another learning curve to a drop stitch scarf. â€Love it. Will have to practice, rewind, review again for joining. I failed miserably on my first attempt to join together on another project.. Question for you - have you ever worked with Summer nights on the knitting machines. They make beautiful flat circles with 20 rows (was trying to follow your square circle scarf patternđđ). But the thin thread is so hard to work with.
I have not used it but I will definitely look for it! P.S. I failed on my first attempt to figure this out and the whole scarf unraveled. Hahah
Itâs a fingerling or 1 ply. But can be worked beautifully on sentro. đđđ oh no! After all that work!đ. You make me feel good, my friend.
Gorgeous work on this Shelley!

Shelly, sometimes you get going with the machine a little too fast for us newbies⊠we know you know what you are doing but please be a instructor that wants to teach us what you are doing
You can slowdown the video by clicking the settings then aback speed. I think she goes too slow but I know she doesn't record just for me
Slow it down in your settings.
@Sunshine. Very friendly tip. If I donât get something I turn down the sound, put on subtitles and click the settings button on the top right. In the drop menu there is a button to slow the speed as much as you want. Sometimes you donât need to turn need to turn down the volume. If you are a newbie I suggest you start off with ordinary beanies, fingerless gloves, if you also have a 22 needle addi. Get to know your machines, then move on to drop stitch. I canât tell you how many times I have dropped stitches, restarted projects, used the wrong yarn, got tucked stitches. So practice practice practice. Then all of a sudden you notice the wool your machine likes, you get to understand how the stitches on the needles work, and donât be shy about clicking on Shelleyâs tutorials, or joJo juju.
âPlease be an instructor that wants to teach us what you are doingâ ~ I honestly donât think I could be more thorough.
There are so many tutorials on Shelly's channel, where she goes into every detail. All you have to do is look on her channel, try the different techniques, then come back to this one. Shelley is an amazing teacher for us newbies.
Fantastic looking

I love your makes, I wish we could see these videos from your angle and did you tell the brand of yarn ? 𧶠you are just a little too chatty before you get started âŠ
Caron cinnamon swirl cakes- sweets. Itâs all in the description box
She describes it all below. Slow it down in your settings if you didn't get it. Skip ahead if you don't like her intros.
I mention it in the intro. and itâs also in the description. I am very happy to work hard and give you all these videos for free. Being grateful rather than pointing out my âchattinessâ would be the kinder thing. Skip through it if you like but then you will miss the information you are asking for. Have a good day.
Shelley, my face portion is curved and doesn't lay flat, am I doing something wrong?
Maybe too many rows ? Too tight tension? Sorry I canât really say without seeing it.
I removed your reply cause I donât post row counts. With the yarn you are using you may need to try less rows.
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet okay and thanks

My sister first bought a sentro and sent it back because it was crap. She bought the 2 addi machines instead, and that's what I bought. Better built
Yes they are. No question. The price reflects it.
Hi Shelley,I just watched the video. Are both the arms and ears made on the 22 pin? I heard you say it for the arms, but not the ears. Thanks!
Yes they are.
I cannot get the Pom Pom to stay together after I take off the maker. Please help
Watch exactly what I do. Thatâs all I can really say. Make sure you tie it really tight. If you pull on the strands then of course they will come out. If you donât pull on them they will be fine.
You do a good job on the instruction and demonstration. Thank you for being clear and without cutesy stuff. Love your patterns. So happy to have found you from Facebook.

Finally watching this one and taking notes. I love this yarn is Usually great but there are some colors that are fussy. I had trouble with the dark pink and the teal. I'm so gonna make this for my son. đ
Iâm glad you like him. Please post in my Facebook group when you are done.
No you are not alone. I've done 7 rows when I needed 4. So many times I have to start overđą
I did exactly the same thing. Going to try to release that stitch like you did and hopefully it works cause it's so beautiful â€ïž
Did you get it?
I wish I could send pictures. That way I can show you exactly what my scarf is doing. Is there anyway I could release one stitch?
You would have to put in a guide line all around the top, making sure all the stitches you want held are caught again and then cut the strand thatâs going through the stitch you want to release.
Thank you for all you share. I've been trying to make all your projects at least once. I love them all. So pretty and just cute cute cute. Wanted to ask for help on this scarf. I have right where I started and ended. I fully know if I tied on right because I have where the stitch didn't release there so the way through. Can you help me. Everything else is perfect just that one strip all the way down.
You have to make sure you secure all the other stitches that are being held with another piece of yarn. Then cut the yarn holding that top loop that needs to drop. Very hard to explain it. I hope you managed. đ
â€đit was awesome to watch you make him/her. My next project is going to make this sleepy bear
