    Nice expose on that climb on 66. Perfect example of why ebikes like this are so useful. Norco has a killer line-up for this year too. This and the new trance advance elite E+ are 🔥🔥🔥

      Yeah man they’re a blast! I definitely prefer the lighter weight models but stay tuned I’ll have the new sight VLT in later on this summer.

      @@CapitalMTB I tried one at P17 recently and the lesson it that is requires a completely different technique on .... technical sections - i figured that it would take at least like 15 hours to adapt.

      Yeah it wasn’t too bad, the main thing holding me back was the tires. The casing was stiff so they weren’t the grippiest :(. I’m used to a max grip maxxis assegai in the front so the trail casing firm continental was brutal.

      @@CapitalMTB Sight looks like same frame type/platform as the range... bigger batt, burlier bikes for sure. Curious, what are you thoughts on the range on this one, given the 400Wh batt?

    • @CapitalMTB
      @CapitalMTB  Před měsícem +1

      I found the range to be totally fine. I managed to get in a good 28km with a fair bit of climbing at 3/4 power and still have battery to spare.

    I so wish I could afford an E-bike. I think the assist would help me sooo much being a bigger guy. Nice ride!

    Toss a spank spoon 35 60mm rise and it will jump a lot better

    • @CapitalMTB
      @CapitalMTB  Před měsícem

      lol 60 would be a bit much for me, I’m good with a 35mm rise on all my bikes, just didn’t have the time to swap it over this this puppy.

    It's not the e-bikes I hate, it's their riders... I just find so many of them lack all knowledge of trail etiquette. I've yet to have someone on an e-bike yield the trail to me. And don't get me started on the dudes out there in full faced moto helmets on Surrons.... ok, Old man rant over.

    • @CapitalMTB

      Oh yeah man I agree 💯. E bikes not only amplify the amount of watts you put out, they also amplify your personality. If you dick odds are you’ll be a mega dick on an e bike. I’ve had numerous experiences in the park where they just yell BIKE and blow by you. E bikes are a great tool for folks who have mobility and medical issues and they’re great if you’re looking to get some training in on the bike without blowing all your energy. All in all it comes down to messaging…. Especially in the Gatineau park. They do not do a good job of explaining trail etiquette to the various user groups (aside from some sparse signage). They take a hands off approach and let everyone figure it out for themselves. There’s a reason I do most of my riding at trail centres where bikes are the main focus. Don’t get me wrong, they still have their fair share of jerks on bikes (more often than not e bikes) who are selfish and don’t uphold any sort of etiquette. Check out Jeff Kendal-Weed’s new video on “how to ride an e bike without being a dick”. And yeah screw those losers on the Surrons 🤦🏻‍♂️

    So funny how you felt bad passing people on your first climb. You get use to it and just don’t care what people are thinking after a while. That whole cheating thing is so dumb..and you don’t have to be sick or hurt to have the right to ride an ebike. Just have fun, be respectful of others peoples goal when they ride..everybody’s different, so hard to be tolerant..

    • @CapitalMTB
      @CapitalMTB  Před měsícem +1

      Totally, you can ride whatever you want as long as you ride respectfully 🤠. This was only my second time on an e bike so it definitely feels like cheating lol (although it is not). More time on the bike = more fun so what ever allows someone to accomplish that is rad.
