Very important…if you re-wire the nemesis to 3s Lipo, you MUST use a brand name Omron switch (21amp) on the rev trigger or larger 3s packs will burn out the switch if you use Tezuo. I smoked a Tezuo using my 2200 mah 60c proton pack battery. I heard about Luke’s mod guide saying to use a brand name Omron and it worked perfectly.
Oh interested, and awesome to know. I generally don’t need my rival on lipo, I wish I’d known would have shouted that warning louder (you may have told me this before ha)
It is 1000% better. It was always a meh performing blaster I never chose. Now… might be a new fav ha. I am making another one of these for my second one!
I was also disappointed in my Nemesis. I got the rechargeable pack which definitely helps but once again, I gotta get on your level 🤣 very cool vid! Always love your uploads!
This is a good place to start, easy wiring. Do what I did early on, tell yourself no thrifting for a couple weeks and just buy a decent iron and some supplies haha
I don’t know if you’d be interested but I’d like to see you make a more in-depth mod guide for the Boomdozer. I know you’ve made one before but I didn’t feel like it showed enough detail of how to mod it. I’ve been having mine since it first came out but was never able to mod it. Something simple like removing the front barrel shroud and putting a k25 spring over the original would be nice to see.
Did this to my Rival. Cannot believe how much it improved the speed. I found a two battery harness so I can have two batteries paralleled. Lasts so much longer.
New to your channel. I like what I’ve seen so far! I really like the fact that your just across the bay in NB. I’m wondering though, do you know how I could get a pump grip for my Hades? Also, my son has a Khaos blaster. I might try this mod on his blaster to eliminate the need for the batteries!
Oh nice! Not far at all! And thanks! Definitely do the battery thing, it’ll work so much better. Night and day. Etsy there would be options, what one are you looking for? Is there one online you’ve seen?
@@maritimefoam Not after any one in particular. Recommendations? It would be nice to get one from Canada though. One more thing. I have a Rival Zeus blaster & I’m wondering if it can be modified in a similar way?
Very interesting, I have two packs for my Khaos, I think I'll convert the battery tray to be a carrier for a 9.6v battery. Also, this makes the Nemesis more interesting.
Would like to replace the 6 'D' batteries with a rechargeable battery pack for a Nerf Mastodon. Would making this d.i.y. 9.6v batt pk work w/o redoing any of the internal wirings in the Mastodon? Don't want to torch or touch any of the innards but can if need be. Any aid, link(s), suggestions, or cautions would be appreciated.
You want the kind of flux for electronics. @outofdarts has some, ordering from them means you know you’re getting the right thing (which is what I always did haha), but you can get it from Amazon too.
@@maritimefoam hey dude, just finished the mod today and its workin pretty damn good, just one question, will it have any problems with overheat or wiring? Thanks again and kind regards!

Long form? Let’s goooooo! 🤩 the 9.6v totally transforms this beast. I should have never sold my Nemesis :(

Haha, I long form it once in awhile ;)

It didn’t show much detail because I didn’t do much ha. I should revisit with a spring upgrade :)
I’m gonna do this to all my battery packs thank you my good man keep up the amazing work
Thanks! I recommend it 100%, I just ordered 3 more of those 9.6v packs. No more D batteries or Nerf 7.2v pack for me. :)
I asked for it! I got it! Thanks for the video!
Ha, that worked out well! It’s definitely worth doing!

Everything is as good as a Perses after you do this, it's cool!
@Andrew Smith-nf9ws
Do you have a link for the harness you used?
Just finished mine and yes I can't wait to give a good run thru
Nice!
Thank you for the help

looks absolutely awesome. also the beards gone
Ha, it was time for a fresh cut!

Do it!
who are you , who are so wise In the ways of science
Haha, hardly wise, I just watch a lot of CZcams haha
Nice
How does the battery charge ? Do you need to buy something to charge it?
6:35 what do you mean connectors ? Can I just buy the pack and xt 60?
You can, you have to change the plug on the pack though. Or, you can buy a Tamiya to XT60 adapter.
@@maritimefoam can you link the adapter you use ?
@@maritimefoam so I don’t have to buy a tamiya connector?
How you´re charge your 9,6V nimh?
You can find tons of charging chords online for them.
@@maritimefoam thx for the reply!
Where can I get the connectors, cable and battery that you used, can you help us with a link to the products that you used in your incredible video?
You have made me realize that I forgot to add all the links I promised lol. Sorry. I’ll add those tonight!
I know you mentioned swapping over to XT60 (which i would for a lipo build) but is there anything wrong with using the tamiya connector?
Nope, not at all. I just have a bunch of the XT60’s - the problem with learning from another person learning haha

Would it be better to use a 7.2v lipo or nimh instead of a 9.6v to avoid burning out the motor?
9.6 won’t burn out that motor :)

You could wired right to the positive and negative terminals in the battery tray like I did. It would improve it for sure.
Those rechargeable nerf packs are too hard to find in my opinion. I have a few but it took some work to find them over a couple of years.
Yeah, they are a good option, but weren’t quite powerful enough IMO
They were also insanely expensive here
Is there room for 2 batteries in that pack to increase mah
You probably could!
What are all the things I need for the mod? Not including tools
Check out the description and video, I go over all of that :)
How long does the 9.6v battery pack last vs using 6 good quality D batteries?
No idea. But it’s rechargeable and substantially better performance. I won’t buy a D or C battery :)
Does this require any internal modification, or can I leave the stock wiring as is?
Leave ‘er for 9.6v :)
Does it need a re wire in the inside ?
I go over that in the video :)
Is flux essential in doing this? Is there a specifix type i should get or any ? Thanks!

How does the battery charge ?
You can use a cheap NIMH charger from amazon.
Will this work on all rival fly wheel blasters?
Yup! This was done in mind with ones that accept the 7.2v rechargeable but it works for any to rewire to 9.6v
