- Four teenagers, initially charged as adults with murder and conspiracy in the beating death of a Rancho High School student, have accepted a plea that will allow them to plead guilty in juvenile court, according to information revealed in a hearing in Clark County District Court Thursday morning.

Hell, I just hated having after-school detentions. It was pretty boring sitting there for 2 hours. And then there’s in-school suspensions which are even worse.
But imagine instead of detention, the teacher tells you you’re going to spend the next 25 years in prison…
That affects your whole life. High school is over. Your 20s are gone. The girl you would’ve otherwise met and married at 23 doesn’t exist.

You know, A.G. Ford was an employment attorney prior to seeking office. I presented a very good case to him in 2011 as I sought representation thinking he'd be able to sympathize with my circumstance because he's a person of color. Well, it turns out that he only defends _discriminating companies_ (Defendant) and not _those affected by discrimination_ (Plaintiff). I couldn't believe it. That's how he made his bones in the legal field, by turning a blind eye to white racism in the workplace, cooperating with it, enabling it, & profiting from it. Same for his wife too, Berna Rhodes Ford.

As a defence attorney, many are unfamiliar how the legal system operates.
Convincing 4 defendants to plead guilty to manslaughter is reasonable win for the prosecution.
That means they don’t have to go a trial.
If this went to trial, there’s a hood chance they’d be found not guilty of murder anyway. Or perhaps one of them, but not 3. Perhaps 2, but not 2.
This deal requires all 4 to plead guilty to manslaughter without having to go to trial. I’d even argue that’s a damn good deal for the prosecution more than the defence.

Say a 15 year old entices, coerces, pressures a 30 year old into having sex with him/her.
Only the 30 year old is charged for sexual abuse. The 15 year old is a victim.
The reason is the law determines that a 15 is incapable of *pressuring, coercing, and making decisions (in relation to sex)* because they’re mentally incompetent - basically, they’re walking sentient vegetables.
That said, if a 15 year old is determined by law that they don’t know how to pressure or coerce or manipulate (in sexual context), how can they legally held accountable for their role in pressuring, coercing, and manipulating (in murder context)?
One on hand, the law is saying any aggressive and assertive decisions they made in having sex with an adult are irrelevant because they’re stupid and don’t know any better.
Contrarily, the law is saying any aggressive and assertive decisions they made to assault (non-sex), steal, or kill someone, that they are responsible for and should have known better; now, conveniently, they are competent all the sudden.

It’s not even what’s best for the offender i have no idea where you would get that assumption from it MIGHT sound like it in this case but what about all the “offenders” wrongfully imprisoned and convicted given decades of time for crimes they didn’t commit? How is the system doing what’s best for the “offender” by having mandatory minimum sentencing, inhumane conditions, investigations that were done illegally and beyond incorrectly in the name of justice for the victim? I thought the Lewis case had gotten closed months ago. The clowns are scared for their lives, because they know that will get sentenced to 40 years in prison. It sounds to me like the justice system is too afraid to do the right thing. The mom will get find a way to get justice for her son, it's only a matter of time. Any teen who commits murder should not be allowed to have an attorney represent them. They want to act like adults, then let them try to defend themselves in a court and see how far they get without crying.
