Rush songs A&A have done:
2112, Freewill, La Villa Strangiato, Limelight, Natural Science, Red Barchetta, Spirit of Radio, Subdivisions, Tom Sawyer, Trees, Working Man, Xanadu, YYZ.
David Ryder It's a good start only a couple hundred songs to go.
definitly lacks of songs from the synthesizer years.
Body Electric, Losing it, Digital Man, The Weapon, pick either one or all. no tilter here.
and the final years are missing, too:Ghost of a Chance, Caravan, The Garden
How about Breadfan by Budgie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anthem. Either studio version or from All the World's a Stage

"I can't pretend a stranger is a long-awaited friend." Neil Peart putting to lyric his introverted discomfort in receiving fan adulation.
This is a verse to live by.
I've posted into many reactions to Limelight that my favorite line - probably in all of music - is this line... I was on the edge of my seat to hear what Alex was going to point to as the line that stood out to him. NOT disappointed! Neil, your respectful fans quietly acknowledge your tremendous lyrics and drum skills with voices raised that you won't hear and hands extended that you cannot shake. Wish we got to go for a ride...
Neil got his space invaded on the tour bus by a very demanding fan in the UK, this guy evaded security at the time and was like hey you owe me your time and person, Neil found it incredibly intimidating as the guy was intense, one thing you guys miss is that actually Alex's guitar work colours and makes this song so good, Alex has said that Limelight is one of his favourite solo's.
Well said
Rush's secret recipe is...
Talent
Genius level Talent!!
Not really a secret because it is so obvious...
What? You don't think these auto-tuned pop songs aren't displaying talent???
/s
You sir are correct. Each of them are so talented. Great group great music
that they didn't really care what was going to be commercially successful, they made the music they wanted to hear and play. Just like Pink Floyd and Yes.
RIP Neil Peart. The greatest ever. Period.
You love Rush so u say he was best ever? Why was he any better than hundreds of great bands drummers? They're all great IMO.
@@joehackel8087 Because now they can no longer sync Metronomes properly Neil has passed. They used his licks to also sync Atomic Clocks.
Greg Scupholm he was the lyricist as well. The man was brilliant. We’re a lesser world for losing him.
Neil Peart loved Keith Moon and their techniques couldn't be more different.
Your favorite. There is no best. They're all different. Wouldn't you agree?
Limelight is one of those songs that is deceptively complex and only Rush can make it sound effortless. The continual 4/4 and 3/4 meter shifts throughout the song, and the occasional 2/4s and 7/4s in the chorus are amazing. Plus Alex's solo - there are no words. He takes the whammy bar to a new level. One of their best!
"All the world's indeed a stage
And we are merely players
Performers and portrayers
Each another's audience
Outside the gilded cage"
JESUS CHRIST!!!! the lyrics along with the music...its a masterpiece
Few things are more satisfying than witnessing a couple of awesome guys, of another generation, fall in love with the music of RUSH. 😊
@Scott Moss
Glad you’re diggin’ it man we sure as hell are! Cheers! 🔥
"Limelight" is THE song. It has everything, including Alex Lifeson's greatest guitar solo. No other rock band has ever approached such perfection as RUSH does on this track. Definitely one of those songs where you can't help but ask yourself: "Where in the heck did this song come from?" Neil Peart may claim to be an agnostic, but this is nothing less than the Voice of God speaking.
I completely agree. There is not one moment or heartbeat of this song that I do not love. Pure beauty and perfection. You always hear something new in it, too. There's more interest and brilliance in this track than I've heard in whole musical careers. It's astonishing, but then again, it's Rush.
I would say Alex Lifeson's greatest guitar solo is a three way tie between La Villa Strangiato, Closer To The Heart, and 2112 (Presentation). But yeah, this one is great as well. Rush are such a complex band and it's so hard to play their music because nobody is talented enough.
I completely agree with your statement, couldn't said it any better!
@@eliasswift2921 2112(Soliloquy), Analog Kid, The Garden, by tor, Xanadu, red barchetta…the list goes on and on
I keep going back to your reactions and commenting years later. I know this one is long behind us, but I love this guitar solo. Up until recently it was also my favorite... Until I relistened to "Between the Wheels". The guitar solo in that song is insane!
RIP Neil - so, so sad to hear of his passing today
Such a thoughtful, poetic, and shy soul; poured into the body of a truly epic drummer. The chat does not have enough "F"s to express the depths of my sorrow upon hearing of his passing. :(
Neil Peart is a beautiful combination of talent & humble.. his lyrics are thoughtful, honest & intelligent. Rush is the ultimate timeless band, the chemistry of all 3 members is undeniable!
This is one of the most underrated talents in the history of rock music. I'm grateful to you fellas for exposing a younger generation to absolute musicians.
PAPAMOZO underrated ? Rush is considered one of the Top 5 greatest progressive rock in the history , for everyone
@@adrianalvarado1206 I understand your point, and fully agree, but back in the 70s, the critics mistreated them terribly, buddy. They were inducted into RRHF 25 years later than they should've been. Good on ya, mate.
Sorry to say a number of artists or bands have been inducted years after their success. Some not even at all, yet. Its no indication of their rating.
@@adrianalvarado1206 I think he means underrated because the critics almost always hated Rush, mostly because those demons wanted to like bands which sold out on their craft, which Alex, Geddy, and Neil (RIP) never did.
@@bdub7363 Yep, Supertramp is a great example.
It's fun to see young people like these guys react to Limelight the same way I did almost 40 years ago when it came out.
Alex's solo, on this, is COMPLETELY textural! ...So, just moving with the breath and the atmosphere of the song. ...Subtle, but indelible...
Have you heard any Police yet? The drumming is incredible and Neil/Rush listened to them a lot. Walking on The Moon, Driven to Tears, Every Little Thing She Does is Magic, Message in a Bottle, etc.
Yes, just an amazing piece of music and lyrics. I actually did an English paper on these lyrics in highschool. Neil has a deep personal issue with Fame and this is his expression of it.
RIP Neil. Your words crossed my lips, mind, and soul more than any other artist. In memory of the GOAT you should react to a Neil Drum solo. Perhaps R30.
Russell Jory
It would be cerebral overload
"All the worlds indeed a stage and we are merely players performers and portrayers each anothers audience outside the gilded cage" has stuck with me all my life (long time).
One of my high school friends put that as his quote in our yearbook, class of 83'.
I also love "one must put up barriers to keep oneself intact." That one resonates with me...
Just an FYI: that line was adapted from Shakespeare. You may already know, but in case you didn't, I figured you'd appreciate the larger passage.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_the_world%27s_a_stage
Aptly applies to A&A & this community as well. We are one another's audience! :)
@@jeh32 only Shakespeare I know I learned from rush, lol. I had heard the music was influenced by Shakespeare years ago
Circumstances is an underrated little gem from Hemispheres.
Yeah it is.
Agreed
One of Neils best lyrics love, love, love Circustances
FINALLY! Yes, this one’s a banger for sure, and yes, Alex, get into the lyrics-I feel like you’ll identify. Neil wrote them; he’s legendary for not participating in meet-n-greets with fans at shows. He just can’t do it. Glad you don’t feel that way! ❤️
When Alex goes "oh I love that" at around 01:17, I got chills because I thought the exact same thing at that exact same point when I first heard this song. Niel is unarguably one of the greatest drummers to ever sit behind a kit and he always delivers. There was something sublime about his performance in this song though. The whole band was great as usual but Niel's performance made this song for me.
Listening to Rush brings tears of joy to my eyes.
I have to agree with you Ed.
Watched these guys on there Moving Pictures Tour back on 81. I actually came out in there documentary. I'm in the front row in my yellow football jersey.🤣
That solo - the held high note - always elicits an emotional tear....
@@workingman6681 very cool. 👍
Right there with you.
Ed Briggs
Man I cannot listen to them without it being loud
If I could only own 1 Rush album, it would be "Moving Pictures."
Yes. It is still Rush's Perfection Album to me. Great balance, production, has it all.
If I could only have one it would send me into a spiral. That would probably be my choice too though. Being I have it so well absorbed, however, I might opt for a much later production. "Snakes and Arrows". Years of magistry to choose from.
If you could own zero Rush albums, even better!
@@jlsagely6892 You sound like a zero yourself. Nothing better to do in your life than bash Rush fans? Got any constructive suggestions for any band? I have an ear out for you.
I still love their first album. I feel that it gets pushed aside too easily.
It's great to see young people turned on to the greatest band of all time. I personally created 3 percussionists with their music. It was very loud in my house for 2 decades. lol I wish you could have seen them live.
When my daughter was 6, her favorite Rush song was Cinderella Man. We listened to it every day on the way home from 1st grade for months.
Please checkout another 3 man Canadian band: Triumph! Different than Rush, but a great band nonetheless!!!
@ Hoping that the boys checkout some early Triumph!! Just a Game is my favorite!!!
Absolutely. Fight the Good Fight is my fav.
Fight the Good Fight is the first I recommended months ago. Alex and Andy will get there!
Yes! Another great Canadian trio. I dig Rush, but if I could only bring one to a desert island, I’d choose Triumph. They rock harder (and softer). Less progressive, more inspirational.
czcams.com/video/10PPPZ0KjRY/video.html This is the last time I saw Triumph live. It was a good day!
Alex Lifeson said his solo in this song is one of his favorites. It's too bad you guys didn't see them live. Their last and final tour was in '15.
I got to go to the final tour in Columbus Ohio .Unfortunately Limelight wasn't performed which is one of my favorite Rush songs .
They opened that tour in my hometown of Tulsa, for some reason. I think the venue was open for a few days ahead of time, so they could rehearse in a big environment. Was disappointed they didn't play "Limelight" but they worked in a few I'd never heard live before in 30-plus years of Rush fandom.
Saw Rush open for KISS in 1974 !!!
Neil had just joined them a few months before.
Detroit, Michigan for me. I am so glad I bought those tickets :)
Neil Peart Died today. Such an enormous loss. :(
The guitar solo (as beautiful as it is) is made even better with the drums and bass. Classic Rush talent! RIP Neil
Great choice.!! ...From a Rush fan in Bangkok, Thailand. I started listening to Rush in 1977 with Caress of Steel as my first Rush album.
Passage to Bangkok..
Fly By Night and Closer to the Heart are two radio friendly ones. Jacob's Ladder is a longer one of theirs but great.
"Closer To The Heart" is a NECESSITY!
Their biggest "radio song," prior to "Spirit Of Radio" (and, on the the heels of that: "Limelight" and "Tom Sawyer" [Thank You Pye Dubois!!!!! 🧡🧡🧡💜👈🔥🔥🔥🔥👈💜😎🤘🤘])!
...and such a delicious and powerful song!!!!!!! 🤘🤘
-That is, actually, the song EVERYONE knew, even if you didn't know anything else by the band/weren't "really a fan," or whatever; back, prior to "The Spirit Of Radio" and "Limelight", "Tom Sawyer", "YYZ".
It was "the" Rush song, in the '70s.
[And it IS spectacular, powerful and heartfelt!!!! 💜💜]
"Closer To The Heart" -- a must! Studio version, Rio version's a must, too!
Sorry I basically repeated your comment,I hadn't scrolled down and read it. I wholeheartedly agree...
I’m going to recommend again: Cygnus X-1 Book 2 from Hemispheres. It’s a 20 minute long journey into brilliance. You won’t be disappointed especially since you loved 2112
This needs to be done!!
Concur
@@loosilu I would say do book 1 the first week then book 2 the next.
YYZ was generally played as an intro to Limelight back in the day. Tom Sawyer - Red Barchetta - YYZ - Limelight....not too bad for side one of Moving Pictures.
YYZ is amazing. If they do it, I want the live version from Exit Stage Left for the drum solo
@@miconis123 they did Rio a while back
From the Moving Pictures onward - In Rush's Moving Pictures tour, they didn't even play YYZ.
For the Exit Stage Left tour, YYZ never led into Limelight.
For the Signals and Grace Under Pressure tours, YYZ was usually an encore song. Limelight was played as one of the last songs before the encore.
For the R40 tour, Rush didn't even play Limelight.
@@geol1936 we got us a superfan here! :-)
@@dwc1964 I saw Rush starting with their Moving Pictures tour, and only wish I was old enough to have seen their earlier tours!
Their shows were terrific, even into the 2010s. My personal fave was the R30 tour where they did an R30 overture including Finding My Way / Anthem, Bastille Day, A Passage to Bangkok, Cygnus X-1, Book II Hemispheres, plus some of the covers from their Feedback "teenage garage band" days. The guys had so much fun playing Summertime Blues, The Seeker, Heartful of Soul, and Crossroad Blues.
I remember it like yesterday. I saw the Strangiato one night only movie documentary in August. Craft beers and Rush. Reminded me of the old time midnight movies with my buddies.
Hope you guys are having an awesome week!! You guys asked for Limelight, here it is!! What’s the next one we have to check out?!?!
Also note, if I ever run into any of you guys in public I would definitely talk with you 100%! Haha. That’ll make sense if you watch fill the end! Cheers friends!! 🔥😁🤟🏻
Andy & Alex I’m going to recommend The Necromancer. I think you guys will love it. Some of Alex Lifeson’s best guitar work.
Daily Rush reactions...lets go.....”Red Sector A” next!
Well done guys! Rush is the main reason I watch your channel. Do them more often! Once a week if you can. They have so many songs you still need to do.
By tor and the snow dog
Cygnus book 1
Cygnus book 2
Marathon
The mission
Loads more as well
"IN THE END" off Fly by night and "Lessons" off side 2 of 2112....2 of my Rush Favorites....All of 2112 is awesome !
Circumstanes next! It's on the Hemispheres album side 2!

The Camera Eye also from MP is another epic Rush tune you will both love! Limelight is their one radio “hit” I never get tired of!
Love Rush!!!! Impossible to pick a favorite song when they all are so good!
Yeah, Neil’s always been uncomfortable with fame & he wrote this song as a way of explaining his stand-offishness. Love the reaction, guys! 👍
Ironically, it was this album that skyrocketed them into a new level of fame.
Moving Pictures set them on commercial course in the industry. Yes your on point
@@basedsalty6970 Kinda like how Smells Like Teen Spirit, with its sarcastic "Here we are now, entertain us!" line, flung Nirvana onto the big stage.
Watching Neil do an interview reminds you why they call him the professor. His intelligence is off the scale. A lot of intellectuals are uncomfortable around people they don’t know. They tend to live in the small bubble of their mind, and a lot of times they don’t want to come out. Kind of like Alice in Wonderland wanting to stay down the rabbit hole. I have read five of his books and even though Limelight was written way before Ghost-Rider you can get a feeling how his mind works. I would not want his life though. Having both your daughter and wife die within months apart is devastating.
Yes, but I would use the word "uncomfortableness" as opposed to stand-offish.
It's time for The Camera Eye on Moving Pictures. Great tune. Just right for you guys!
I agree with you Woofgeed
czcams.com/video/9l5q7uH_0xk/video.html
YES!! Camera Eye ... it is long, but worth it. Another example of transition mastery.
Most definitely
Ditto
Yes! Seconded, thirded and fourthed! ;-)
I first saw them on this tour in 81. One of the best albums all time 🤩
When I was in high school our english teacher had us all analyze the lyrics to our favorite song. I picked this one and I came away from that with a whole new appreciation for my favorite group. Thanks for bringing me back to the 80's.
Great reactions ❤️
I remember going to a Rush concert back in the 80's with 2 buddies of mine. There were metal folding chairs on the floor & everyone was standing up on them. When Rush went from "Limelight" into "2112", one of my friends, who was quite tall, jumped up just to come back down taking about 5 other chairs & many people down with him. No one was injured thankfully & it's something I'll never forget. I'm lucky enough to have been to see Rush multiple times throughout the years. Along with Pink Floyd, Rush is my #1 favorite band.
Gotta react to Red Barchetta from Moving Pictures!
I am surprised this is your first time hearing Limelight but you guys nailed the reaction! This song is also great on how Geddy crafted his vocal part, how he gets to the climax by the end , all the changes he brings, etc. Great single, established them as a radio-friendly-ish band and a arena-draw, perennial powerhouse from here on out.
By-Tor And The Snow Dog. The live version from the Exit Stage left concert is pretty amazing. Or, for a deeper cut, The Necromancer from the Caress of Steel album.
Got to do By-Tor before Necromancer. It's like a 1. - 2 sequel
Limelight. Way to go fellas!
Yes!!! Alex's solo!!!!
Alex's guitar solo and Neil's closing drum runs = multiple eargasms
This is my favorite song from Rush. This is not music from my generation but I really like the guitar parts from this song, they're so freakin good.
Rush ftw
The hesitation in the song is awesome
I'm older than you guys, I grew up when this came out and I recall seeing the video for this song on Mtv, if you haven't seen the video, its awesome. Its them in recording this song in Le Studio in Canada. I always loved that video.
You know. I really believe that the 60’s -70’s is the best music. Thank god i got to experience it first hand
So amazing that you haven't done Limelight yet. It is one of my favorites. Commenting before I watch, so I am looking forward to your reaction.
Hey I know you kids. Learning from the best hey? A&A are awesome, and you two are on your way. Keep up your fantastic work.
Many Rush songs to love. My personnal favs: The Analog Kig, The Trees, Red Sector A, Jacob's ladder, The pass...Happy holidays guys !!
Yes the trees. 🇨🇦🍁
The Trees is one of my favorites as well. Such an awesome message.
Yes, red sector a and the trees. I always enjoy their live performances
It REALLY is ok to give every fantastic Rush song a 10 - giving songs like this less is an insult.
Guys, you MUST react to “ The Camera Eye” off Moving Pictures!!! You will LOVE it!!!
Nothing's Better than a WAKE N BAKE , coffee and watching y'all react.
Be Cool Amigos!
Agreed, but with sweet tea.
Geddy Lee has said that he sometimes had to say to Neil " that is beautiful but I can't make it into a melody in a song", so Neil goes away and simplifies it
The Camera Eye will blow your minds. Play it next
Indeed, one of the classical Rush songs which I like very much. It’s on almost every live album as is Tom Sawyer. This last song is the most classic song of Rush.
For a great base line listen to Smoke on the water (live) from Deep Purple
Have y’all done “Fly By Night” yet? If not, DO IT!! It’s another great Rush song.
Bastille Day is a MUST guys, the musicianship they can cram into a five min. song is mind blowing !!!!
Great reaction guys. Definitely one of their top radio-friendly songs. Rush always delivers quality music and lyrics; it's just a matter of personal preference as to which songs one likes best. Next "Anthem", "Beneath, Between, Behind" or if you want to do another from Moving Pictures, "Camera Eye".
Limelight was the song that piqued my interest in Rush, so it's sentimental. I do think it will grow into something special for A&A. -- Have a good one! ttyl :)
@@lisaw5604 It's definitely one of their best songs, so I can see how it would pull you into the Rush orbit. I honestly can't remember the one that first grabbed me. Fly by Night is another good one from them, but love Limelight! One of my all time favorite songs!
That guitar solo was heavily inspired by Allan Holdsworth's guitar solo on "In The Dead Of Night" by UK. Rush were huge fans of Bill Bruford and anything he did at the time. That debut UK album was released in 1978.
Another Canadian band to hear is: Saga, “On The Loose” or “Wind Him Up”. 🎸
Cygnus x 1. Books 1 and. 11. From the Lps farewell to the kings and Hemisphere's. Pretty cool stuff by Rush. Also from caress of steel lp, The Fountain of Lamneth. Very trippy and heartfelt music. Please consider. Awesome review here guys. Keep rocking.
The guitar solo with the high hitting pure notes is beyond comprehension and blows one's mind.
I KNOW you guys would LOVE Bytor and the Snowdog, off of their Fly By Night album. It's the first album that Neil recorded with the band....and they went for it with reckless abandon in this song. It's like they said, "Ok...we now have this bad-ass drummer. We should write a song showcasing what a bad mo-fo this band is."
This is my most listened to Rush song. Or, I've heard it more than others. The lyrics are poetic and I can pretty much guarantee he didn't just slap it on paper and go with it. As a poet, I can say it isn't easy to make it sound so effortless. For me, the lyrics and music fit perfectly as if they were born together and share the same DNA. I say that about very few songs. I really, really enjoyed this video, guys. Good job! Keep it going! 🤟
It's the same for me Missy Frye. Limelight is just such a perfect marriage of words and music. I've heard it hundreds of times but always find something new and interesting to feast the ears on, and it never gets boring. It's intelligent, cerebral even, but also emotional, has soul, energy and a spine-chilling solo from our Alex. What a band...
@@davecole2561 I love intelligent songs. It's annoying when people don't pay attention to the lyrics and how they fit the music (or not in some cases). I guess I'm a music snob to some degree. But, I like the poppy feel-good stuff too. I just dumb down the senses for a while. ;)
Awesome choice guys. Moving Pictures is a real High Point for Rush. That album is a Banger!!!
By-Tor and the Snow Dog is a BANGER!!! Though delve into the Fly By Night album, lots of Bangers!!!
This is the best Rush song i believe also "RED ALERT" AND "WORKING MAN". Thank you very much from Cool Kitty From The Motor City.
Have to do Rush - Cygnus X-1. INSANE. It’s pretty much all of them showing off.
I love Rush... one of my favourite ones is a sort of ballad by them of “ A Farewell to kings “Album.. it’s called “Closer to the heart” it was a minor radio hit for them and I believe it was the drummers mate that penned the song.. also I think there is a Christmas bells drum break on it... it’s got a great feel to it.
My favorite Rush song for over 38 years, it has always spoken to me on a deeper than deep level!! The lyrics are next level, the musicianship is extraordinary! I love seeing your reactions!!
Your instincts are right, Limelight is a grower. Over the years it's become my favorite Rush tune. I always liked it, loved it in fact. But as time has gone by (I'm 52, which means 13 when Moving Pictures was released) this song has just grown and grown in esteem with me. It's a perfect song: the tune, the performance, the lyrics, the sentiment, the production, it's a 10 on all. There's a reason it's the centerpiece of their masterwork album.
You guys will dig this. Rick Beato breaks down Limelight in one of his "What Makes This Song Great" series.

As side note, after also watching The Who, Rush drummer Neil Pearl was a huge fan of Who drummer Kieth Moon.
Lifeson is a huge fan of Pete Townshend.
@@loosilu yes he was, or.. is.
Rush Wednesday's give me a reason to love Wednesday's. Thank you! Oh and also... please check out "A Digital Man" from "Signals"...sooo underrated- amazing bass line/drums and one of my favorite guitar solos of Alex Lifeson's incredible catalog. This is a song I discovered way back in 1993, while sleeping with headphones. I woke up, just blown away by the bridge...Rush builds perhaps the most beautiful bridges in music. Merry Christmas /Happy Holidays guys!
Lifeson is immaculate on this song, the rythms the solo all of it. Love it!
From the first guitar riff, you know you're in for a treat.
GREAT! I'm Glad you're doing this RUSH Wednesday NECROMANCER Caress Of Steel
6:16 "Living in the limelight / The universal dream / For those who wish to seem" - that is, if you're all about *appearances,* grabbing that attention.
"Those who wish to *be* / Must put aside the alienation / Get on with the fascination / The real relation / The underlying theme." - If you're for real, you can't get hung up on all that noise, you have to keep your focus on what it's all about.
Been wait for this one young gents. This is one of my all times even though most of Rush's song are my all times. Thanks of the Holiday gift. And you all have a good one.
so much sauce on each album, each song. the gold standard . love seeing you guys be floored by each listening of rush. also love your appreciation of each facet of the songs. listening to you guys is just as satisfying as watching your reaction. subscribed!!!
I think you would like Jacob's Ladder, Witch Hunt also cool.
Try these two “Caravan” & “Headlong Flight” from 31 years after “Limelight”.They include some of Geddy’s best bass-work.
I love the bass in Seven Cities of Gold, also
Yes. 100%. Those songs show that the last album they created was as incredible as any of them. Rush is just in a category of their own.
Also "The Anarchist"
We need more Classic 70's and 80's RUSH on this and all reaction Channels.
Rush is the pinnacle of musicianship. Listening to Rush on a very good head set is a religious experience. Keep doing what you do Andy and Alex, you guys rock and keep Rush Wednesday’s coming
You would like another Canadian three piece band from this time period called Triumph, who were influenced by this radio-friendly version of Rush. Other than the guitarist, Triumph is not really known for the outstanding musicianship but features catchy highly-produced hard rock songs that are reminiscent of Boston in that regard. "Magic Power" is probably their most famous song. "Fight the Good Fight", "Lay it on the Line", and "Hold On" are others.
There are many great Canadian bands for A&A to experience. Maybe we need a "Celebrate Canadian Artists Day" ?
I now Chilliwack is Canadian and they had a great epic radio hit tune called My Girl Gone Gone Gone .
You guys need to watch the documentary, Rush- Time Stand Still. Also listen to The Analog Kid from Signals.
As a lifelong drummer, analog kid has my all time favorite drum transition. Simply sweet and nasty at the same time
💥THE GIRL WHO LISTENED TO RUSH💥
From the back of the stadium
She’s easy to see
Standing up at the stage
In her Starman tee
From Anthem to Limelight
To YYZ
She’s the girl who listened to Rush
And all of the rockers
And all of the heshers
Well they dreamed of the day
That they might get her
And drive her away
In a Red Barchetta
She’s the girl who listened to Rush
Philosophers and ploughmen
They can’t resist her call
They cannot choose
Not to decide
So they've got no choice at all
They've gotta love her
No she doesn’t say "Pert"
And she doesn’t say "Part"
Yeah, she knows it’s "Neil Peert"
‘Cause he’s close to her heart
Say a prayer for John Rutsey
He was there at the start
She’s the girl who listened to Rush
Philosophers and ploughmen
They can’t resist her call
They cannot choose
Not to decide
So they've got no choice at all
They've gotta love her
Why don’t girls ever listen to Rush? (X a lot)
But she listened to Rush!
The blacksmith and the artist
They can’t resist her call
You cannot choose
Not to decide
So you’ve got no choice at all
No you’ve got no choice at all
You’ve gotta love her!
I first saw Rush on their Hemispheres Tour back when they had the white carpet on stage and no shoes. I've seen them probably 8 times over the years and yes the synthesizers make Rush's shows, you feel that thick sound from head to toe. One thing I think you guys missed is the innovation of Alex's lead on Limelight, those bends and dives are reminiscent of Xanadu with a unworldly sound. Keep up the good work, happy to see the young Gen into music that I blew out my ears to. The best Rush is the live stuff, All the World's a Stage and Exit stage left.
The Camera Eye, Analog Kid
“This is the kid...
The Analog Kid.”
If you really think about it, the Analog Kid is the perfect rock song.
Why not just do Rush every Wednesday. You'd have enough songs for years to come.
I saw the band twice in Chicago and yes they were amazing ! Wish I could bring you bring you back in time to take you along.... enjoy your show :)
Another great epic tune you could review would be "The Camera Eye" from Moving Pictures. It has everything and more. If your two enjoy Rush, this will become one of your favorites.
Good morning guyz! Great song! Great reaction! How about "Lakeside Park" off of Caress Of Steel
Thank You very much!
Have a great day! 😁
💥💯🖤🎶🤘
Y'all can talk all you want, especially when you're talking Rush (takes me back: sitting in my friend's garage, getting wasted, and talking Rush lyrics/meanings - good times!).
Next Rush song? Gotta be 'Closer to the Heart'!
Randall Shaw and then Subdivisions.....
A Passage To Bangkok, Closer To The Heart, Bytor And The Snowdog. I'm so glad you're enjoying Rush so much! It makes me happy!😊😆😚
This was the first song I ever heard by Rush way back in 1982 when I snagged my older sister's Rush record and began to play it. After that I became a huge Rush fan. On a musical technicality level nobody is better than Rush and there is something so sweet about it's perfection that is candy to the ear.
