We hope this helps! Remember to add a line flush before draining to clear out all the gunk in the pipes 👍 And get the free hot tub cheat sheet at www.swimuniversity.com/spasheet
To drain, you can also take a garden hose or several hoses and turn them around where the male end is in the tub and the female end is out to the yard or drain area then turn on the jets and stick the male hose end over the jets (it'll make a syphon) then push the male ended hose in the bottom of your tube. I do three or four hoses, it'll drain in about 40mn
I'm a disabled veteran with fibromyalgia and arthritis. Hot tub is the best thing I've done for myself. Thanks for showing how to maintain myself. One service visit from the company I purchased the hot tub from is $295. No, thanks. I'll do it myself!
Thank you for your service 🙏
This was really simple and easy to follow
SO MUCH useful information...thanks!
Crazy… right as I’m about to drain my hot tub you uploads this 5 minutes prior. Meant to be!
Glad the timing worked out!
Great information 👍🏽
Glad it was helpful!
What about the foam after the line flush. Do you get that out or just start pumping the water out.
What kind of sump.pump is good tonuse?
Thank you so much for your videos it really helps
Line flush twice still have white flem looking stuff floating around in the water, I turn the heat up to 104 and dumped a bunch of chlorine in to see if that will work, I hope that works any advice
I am soon going to be doing a water chsnge. After draining there will still be residual water in the lines which presumably will contain some amounts of the cleaning solution used to flush the lines. Is that a concern?
Don't forget to use Metal Gone before putting checking the water and putting chemicals in. Key is to balance the PH before putting chlorine and other chemicals in. Keep in mind that your PH reading might not be accurate until after the Metal Gone has had time to do its thing. I typically let that sit overnight, heat up, and test the water before adding other chemicals the next morning.
I refilled mine but forgot to use the chemical flush, first. So, I need to drain it again. OUCH! But even in Florida, where water is expensive, 200G of water is only $5.
Wow that's not terribly expensive!
I will never buy a hot tub again. This video is helpful, but having to do this 3-4 times per year was a pain.
I agree biggest money pit and time suck there is.
Why? It takes 25 min to drain…
Salt water pools only need one once a year, maybe twice with HEAVY use.
Why are you doing it so often? 1-2X/ year
Siphon out the water with a cheap garden hose
Man, I just not have mid-range hoses. Will it work?
The biggest waste of money I've ever spent was a hot tub, lol
Totally disagree. We enjoy ours thoroughly as it sends us straight into relax mode and great sleep and acts as a stress manager
@@nitapita8744same , it only isn’t an investment if you don’t use it
@@nitapita8744same. Easy maintenance too.
No way….i get it’s work but the enjoyment and relaxation we get from it is so worth it.
Who cares dude

How about taking each jet out to get all the little crap stuck behind them? Otherwise your just wasting time. Jmo
the line flush cleans that and there's never any gunk behind jet inserts to begin with.
Yup, the line flush should take care of that!
You don't need to do a purge every 3-4 months, more like every 6-12 months.
