this is a better video of the 3t22 also the second to final test of this siren before it is taken down and put back into service in Clearwater Tennesee and if you look closley you can see the top wobbling
Also I was told 5 years ago by one of the fire officers that the siren was installed in the 70's. I think a different siren was at the station before this one, as there were 2 poles with a beam connecting them (like the WS 2008's pole) behind the station at roof hight, next to the spot where the 3T22 sits now. I suspect this other siren might of been a 5, possibily the one that burnt up on Dart Hill Rd, as Station 441, and 341 both have 5s.
Sorry I couldn't make it down there on Saturday, something came up at the last minute (I've also sent Michael an e-mail as well). I was home, and heard station 441s 5 (closest siren to my house), the WS 2008 on Dart Hill Rd, and the 3T22, which sounded amazing sounding together. Geez, that thing was running faster than ever. Also note the top wobbling, and that pole behind the station, which I see now has wires on it. This siren will be seen and heard on youtube again, once I start restoration.
Use a tripod or brace camcorder on something solid. Yes, get back for better sound and zoom in. Windup sounds like a 2t22B (single-phase motor) Also high note is not loud. Top damper stuck partially closed? Get closer as it winds down and sound level diminishes.
@seawind0721 The brushes sound fine to me. The solenoids became home to wasps over the years it sat dormant, so this caused them to be pushed down, closing the dampers partially, causing that odd spike in pitch.
I've been told by others that have seen this video that this is a single phase siren. Which means I'll be able to test it in all signals, inclusing the 2 hi-lo and pulse signals.
it's going to be a WS 2000 of some sorts. From what I've been told it's "like the one on Dart Hill Rd" which is a 2008. I'm thinking it's going to be a 2016, as those were the most common in Millstone's system.
Vernon *police department, my apologies. and trains, if I may ask, what is your real, name because I might know you. I know that sounds stalkish, but like I said I was born in Vernon.
@jackstraw762007 awesome. i got my winter road trip planned out right here haha. oh by the way, i found an old siren behind a firestation in suffield. no idea what kind it is. it might be a darley model? (i think thats what its called, excuse me if im wrong)
yeah ive heard better the one by me is a 3t22 and its beautiful soon it will probably no longer serve its purpose ps: then will be sadly replaced with an ugly 2001-130
This is a 3T22B, single-phase unit. Great sounding siren.
An awesome siren..reminds me of the sirens of my youth. certainly multidirectional with all those horns. Thanks for the time travel! :) Jack

I believe both dampers are stuck on this
beautiful overtones!
Yes, they are very big. I have one and when I first saw it, I couldn`t believe how big it was, along with the STH-10s that were there.
DAMN HOLD THE CAMERA STILL!!!!!

"Its a great siren" I agree 100%
I plan on getting a video of it once it's installed and in service, as well as the WS 2008 that's currently up.
sounds like Clyde Ohio's high pitched 3T22

sounds sick
definitely 50's era
@iwnproductions see that pole behind the station? a Whelen WS 2008 now sits on that pole.
have you ever seen the thunderbolt in hartford behind the salvation army? i just spotted it today
whats the new siren that they are installing there?
and yes Station 1 is still being used, its right next to the Vernon fire department, and the middle school.
Vernon *police department, my apologies. and trains, if I may ask, what is your real, name because I might know you. I know that sounds stalkish, but like I said I was born in Vernon.
It sounds like a Model 10 (10 for the portage) wearing out a STH-10 or 2001.

you can really hear the 4/5 undertones in this one jesus christ
Are the intakes jammed?
is the station still used?
Nice.
Aww well good thing someone's obtaining it. Nobody wants another scraped siren!
so i used to live in that town, an I have never heard that siren till now.
sounds almost like a Sentry 40V2T or a Decot siren.
i don't know if it's a damper or not
Is this siren broken?
@jackstraw762007 im gonna have to take a trip down there and go hunting for these things. thanks!
Was this removed and installed in Tennesee yet?
The 10 port is powerful. And low... but the 12 port is quiet and high..
ROFL what were u yelling when it first went off?
3:10 kinda sounds like an V-10 engine
Siren starts at 2:58.
That siren sounded a little sick, maybe it needed some new brushes in the motor!
sounds different then other ones i heard
Sounds like the 10 port side is closed
kinda sounds like a Decot Red Arrow siren.
Il y a sirène voila
The siren doesn’t sound like a healthy 3t22 it more sounds like a Lamborghini huracan
A huracan that has like the loudest exhaust in the world lmao
...Or the top damper is stuck closed
sounds overpowered
more like improperly operating. It use to sound like any other T22.
3t22b model
yeah if its in hartford somewhere behind the salvation army then thats the one lol
i think Federal3t22 got this thing
