  • First flight in this HM290/3 FB after nearly 18 months. Recently did a refresher in the drifter to ensure I could still fly and then it was time to get some air under the tyres.
Please ignore the date and time in the onboard camera shots. I don't know how to adjust it on this camera.

I am very happy to see this video. It shows a very nice Flying Flea. Thanks for spreading the word of the Flying Flea. It deserves it. Especially after the passing of the last Flying Flea designer, Pierre Mignet. Luckily the last family member made the plans of the HM14, HM293, HM360 and HM380 freely available.

    Hi Buzzy1147
No this flea has never shown any bad characteristics. Kirk Sutton's flying tips are worth a read and after that I recommend time in something draggy and slow. Possibly a drifter if you can get one. Then you should be right. This plane is a joy to fly. It is different to a conventional plane, but a joy none the less.

I would not say it was uneventful - I did have to drag the bugger half a mile back across the field! But Yes, it was uneventful as far as handling and landing was concerned. Glad to see it back in the air and of course anyone flying a Drifter can handle that flea so long as they understand how to control pilot induced turbulence ... hold a turn and all is OK.

    Hello FleaFlyer1,

have you ever seen any bad characteristics in the flea? A friend is building 2 of them and guess who the test pilot is going to have to be since he doesn't fly.

Essene or should I call you by your real name Rob. Once you were an advocate of the flea. Yet now you seem to spend your time bagging it. Your distinctive writing style again gives you away..This flea flies very similarly to the drifter in approach speed. As you are very well aware Kirk did have an engine failure in this aircraft. It was uneventful
