Anyone needing a real simple hack to jump in and do well in Swordsman VR should take a look at videos of fencing, foil in particular. I fenced in college and my nephew asked me how realistic it is. My answer having played it is this, it is realistic such that the movements my coach had us practicing continually till they were as automatic as speaking is let me beat the first 5 levels of knights with a new toon, no upgrades, the starting half sword (the model is they use is, oddly, a pretty typical late 14th century arming sword, particularly Italian ones but not exclusively. There are lots of things that they misnamed or don't understand their relative "damage range" like putting the Jian at the top end of solely single hand swords. Now I love the Jian, in fact I own two live steel replicas of 15th and late 17th century examples. They are nimble, fast, swords and in the form shown were both general's/officer's swords as well as civilian side arms. However, as they aren't powerful cutters like Dao they are a terrible choice against even a lightly armored opponent, much less a "knight" in 16th century harness! The guys that wore that IRL regularly got up without serious injuries after being run over by 2 tons of war horse! The maces and axes were far more effective against heavy armor, but the war hammer was better and polearms, most especially the poleaxe were the best at defeating plate or heavy mail and plate armors, what people picture as knights. The full plate suits we see so much of in fantasy were only available for the last century before guns changed warfare completely. Those are meant as hard criticisms, it's a fun solid game that feels incredibly real. The awesomeness of actual fencing working exactly as described in renaissance manuals is an unbelievable accomplishment, it's genius! But again my full verdict is that I'm here watching this video because he had me try the game. The fact that actual techniques derived from rapier/small sword/sabre/spadroon fighting work exactly as intended impressed and shocked the hell out of me.
Great list! Swords of Gargantua is also pretty good. It's a shame they are shutting it down. I don't get the hype for Swordsman and B&S. I have tried and returned them a couple of times because I found them so janky. Ninja Legends and Until You Fall have way more polish. I love the Lightsaber Dojo's too! They are a great way to show VR to noobs.
Gargantua would have made it if not for the shut down. I actually had the same experience with Blade and sorcery at first, re bought it and got used to the movement and love it now
5:57 half way through the i found if you have the poison katana and any shield you just repeatedly stab the legs if you wanna finish the game easily .
No More Heroes would be awesome in VR.

I despise the art style of Ancient Dungeons, and it is still objectively one of the best quest games. Especially if you love rpgs or dungeon crawlers.
