Okay, I finally find a youtube video (recommended to me by someone else) where the creator actually enjoys SAO seemingly like I do. Personally, I've been preferring the books over the show, but the show still hits me with as many feels as possible. This actually looks like SAO not only from the show, but as described in the novels as well. This is genuinely making me so happy to see.

Started watching this video yesterday, paused in the middle, rewatched the first season of SAO, and today I'm back to finish the video and understand all the references. Wasn't as good as I remembered, but it was definitely worth it.

The game is not currently available atm but the closest thing to it is a title known as "Subspace Hunter" over on the Quest 2! I definitely recommend checking that out if you're an SAO fan! Should be able to find it over on Sidequest!

I almost cried when it loaded into the town of beginnings, it just feels so nostalgic seeing it again after all these years. I really hope they finish making this game with the full 100 floors.
So happy there’s someone who loves SAO as much as I do 😆 I’ve rewatched it so many times, it’s honestly my dream to have a game like that (minus the dying IRL part of course). I can’t WAIT til more of this game comes out, I’m most definitely keeping my eye out.

Glad to hear there's still die hard fans of the series, obviously there are some things I'm not a huge fan of but that doesn't define what the show is. SAO is such a great series and I'm excited to see what's next!

This game was showcased to be in development around the time Oculus released their first headset.
Been waiting for news on it but I don’t know if it’ll ever been like the anime, not unless they further advance the tech of the vr.
Every time you exit the game or remove your headset, your character dies and have to start a new character.
Hardcore too, gotta start all over again if you die. That's the closest you can get to actual SAO without ruining the game after all.

Edit: after rewatching most of the show I have realized that it’s actually the secondary sword he uses in the Excalibur and Mothers Rosaria arcs
Randomly got recommended this. Gotta say, as a fan of SAO and the whole concept of an MMO like this, this video makes me immensely happy seeing how well the fights and skills are working and the enviroment. The future is looking great.

This looks so amazing; I'm genuinely going to cry once we get a true sword art online game (minus the nervegear straight up being used to off people). Especially with how quickly ai is developing, the tech industry is capable innovating so much faster now... and the future of vr/ar is going to be genuinely insane, I cannot wait to witness it. Great video man this game looks extremely good! I love how weapons are spawned into the game, that is too freaken cool.

@@GingKo-ui7qrAs someone who plays on the Quest and Valve index it looks better or on par with most VR games, and if you mean the combat we will just have to see as the game is not complete and as he said in the video still under development.
Thinking about running dungeons doing sidequests and boss hunting with other makes my heart pumping!! Learning swords skills cooking, fishing and even blacksmithing if this becomes an official game and becomes public the choices will be endless SAO as an anime and an actual game will make all those SAO Geeks die of happiness including me of course!!!

Many years ago, a Chinese started this SAO project. At the beginning, he only did a hud on windows. As a SAO fan, I tried it. It was so cool. So it’s really amazing. I can’t imagine it’s already been such developed!

This is beautiful 🥲 I can't wait until this game is fully completed. I love how they have the actual music when u went to the outside area and it looked great. The boss room and fighting mechanics were amazing for a game still in development. This game once its fully finished will be absolute peak! My dreams are becoming a reality with this game frfr and I love it!
This is amazing and I would for sure spend hours exploring this. My hope is once it becomes popular it can be used as a seed for other isekai/rpg anime like "Bofuri" I cannot wait to see what people do with stuff like this!

bruuuh i'm with you on that one it's such a cool thing to have this game come out i love the idea of a full sao game in vr that has all the ui physics and such cuz the games we have now are a little bit of a let down like the actual games that follow the first season like hollow fragment and integral factor i personally want a sao game in vr that lets you create your character and interact with other players and possibly have a difficulty mode that makes it to where if u die in game your character get deleted and you no longer can make a character on that account afterwards i'm also a fanboi when it comes to sao i've watched the dirst season like 4 times and every now and then i'll just watch specific episodes

Bro I gotta admit, this really brought me back. Ah the good old days, when I first discovered the anime. The first arc (i.e., SAO arc) was really magical, especially the music. I really felt immersed into the game world, and I wasn't even playing it. Here's hoping they pick this up and it becomes legitamised hahaha
SAO was literally set in the year 2022-23 so we actually manage to have SAO like game is incredible, especially since back when Anime launched all of this VR stuff was in its infancy. They should legit officially try to make actual SAO game otherwise they gonna be missing out big times and so are the fans.

Isekai has certainly become my favorite anime genre. SAO is a big fav of mine, I'm super excited that they've returned to Aincrad with the recent movies. Should have been a full season or two instead of just half. The rest is great, but I just want more.

And today i learned how to trap people in a game - put the log out option in chinese XD Pretty sure Toast had to physically remove the headset xD
I think if he was using an Oculus, I think worst case scenario, you can just press the home button, hold it down to quit the game.
Even if we don't get the full immersion SHIT HITS HARD. The boss room bone chilling like WTF, it's AWESOME.

Commentary is more attractive than the game itself, I searched this game on Chinese website, found it is hyped, as a developer as well, the game needs unique feature! I feel the creators just piece a couple of common game functions together to make up a game that demands fan's interest, rather than making an interesting game that appeals ordinary people, obviously this game is a demo at most, and still needs more updates!

This is the first I've seen any playable media around SAO, and I'm all here for it. One thing though, it's a Chinese game? From the way you were talking in the beginning it sounded like this was someone's side project they were doing with probably just a handful of other programmers and it was some sort of hobby project, not an actual "to be released" game. Either way, this would be my reason for finally pulling the trigger and getting a VR setup, even if it's just for this EA version.

Would be cool to have resistance feedback gloves to wear that provide limitations to grip for when you're holding an item like a sword or just about anything else you can interact with.

I played this and pretended to know what I was doing, doing flips and crazy spin sword moves and it worked out beautifully, try moving and attacking with fluent steps and flourishing movement instead of viewing it as just a VR game. My motto is pretend to know how to do something until you truly can do it.
