    From the states here. I bought mine as a kit. For 300. The staples are 25 bucks a box. I love it. No more prick from staples, no more dropping staples. No more smashing my fingers. But if you're not careful it is possible to damage the wire. I was using it, irresponsibly. I should of known better . I was using it an attic and I didn't notice I was not at a good angle. And it cut a 14 Guage wire.

    I have the dewalt and the loose clips are exactly the same have to admit I do find it a wee bit annoying, I usually give the ood 1 here and there a wee tap with the hammer especially when dressing the cables

    Have been using DCN701 for 4 year (Europe - flat cables - mounted to aerated concrete and to wooden roof costruction). I must say I love this tool. Have 2 of them - in case one is broken :). A week ago let a Milwaukee staff came to me and present Milwauke tool. My impression - stay with Dewalt. Milwaukee has some advantges - more handy, more balanced imho, loads 3 sets of staples (Dewalt - 2). But what I noticed during 20 minutes operations 2 things that convinced me to stay with Dewalt . Ok - 3 things - price of staples - in Poland almost twice the price of Dewalt- sometimes it matters. Second - the mechanism preventing the cable to be damaged by staple (in tight/high/dark spaces where you fight to put the tool properly) is waaay better in Dewalt :( Milwaukee shoots even without cable under - just press the stapler and it shoots - in Dewalt there must be wire ..or something that you want to mount under the nozzle (?) and than it releases the staple to be applied. It is esp. important fore me if i use cat6 cable or tv cables. It is probably possible to modify that thing in Milwaukee (needs to cut 2 mm of the "tongue" in the nozzle. Probably. But warranty is then gone ...and the effect is not confirmed - it is just my best guess so far. The third thing is a jammed staple removal ! Look at the construction of the Milwaukee. IF staple is jammed it takes A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT to remove it - fought almost 6 -8 minutes to remove a jammed staple. Just because of construction of the staple magazine. And belive it or not - sometimes they jamm - more often than you might think. Milwaukee is a good tool but because of above mentioned reasons i stick with Dewalt. Oh btw - both staples need some kind of warning/signal - "last staple" - imagine the feeling when you climb up the ladder, hold the cable , balancing ...and realise that the previous shot was the last :(((( And (i know - it is not easy to achieve -looked into inside of stapler ) the regulation of the power of the shot would be a huuuuge advantage.

    I'm just about to get one of these but holding off ATM on staple price. I'm not too sure about clipping 3 cables together though wouldn't you need to apply grouping factors to them if installing like that in order for the cable to be able to dissipate possible heat build up?

    • @olly7673
      @olly7673 Před rokem

      They are both the same size straps but the Dewalt plastic insulation shoulder are square whereas the Milwaukee are rounded. The square shoulders prevent the staples sitting in the Milwaukee....... unless that is... you trim off the square plastic corners with a sharp knife and then they fit and work perfectly. I had to do this when I couldn't get own brand staples.

      but over the long run the time savings would outweigh the initial cost of material. think about how long it would take to run 1000 staples and then compare that to the time it takes to use a hammer to tap staples in. much faster and for a professional, time is money

    When using this tool make very sure the cable is running underneath and in line with the staple magazine. The guide is approximately 5mm in front of where the staples actually fire. If your cable runs sideways after it passes through the guide you will hit the cable. This also limits the tool in confined spaces. If the staple goes through the cable be prepared to spend way more time on the job than this tool would save you.

  • @rjkelectrical6086
    @rjkelectrical6086 Před rokem +1

    How rarely do you clip multiple cables together, you run a circuit in, clip it all down. Then work on the next circuit. For me there is too much sag on the cable with the stapler. If they have different clips for each cable size and fixes it tight would be a great tool.
