- In this video I take you around St. George Island State Park and show you all the different activities. This Park has hiking trails, kayaking, stargazing, birdwatching, and the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see. I camped here in my B-Class RV. The town of St. George Island is a 22-mile barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico. It has Award Winning White-Sand Beaches and a Lighthouse that offers spectacular 360 degree views. The uncrowded beaches are perfect for enjoying a relaxing getaway. It is also a great destination to enjoy family-friendly activities such as shelling swimming, fishing and paddling in the clear gulf waters. This is a great place to spend the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Season.

Hello everyone, welcome to my channel. Like so many others, my lifestyle changed due to the pandemic.
Before the pandemic, my families lives had become so hectic & busy that there never seemed to be a good time to travel anymore. Somewhere along the line we realized that our last vacation was in 2011. We decided that it was time we made some travel plans.
Then the pandemic hit! I no longer wanted to travel by plane or stay in a hotel. We decided that a bettter and safer alternative would be to travel in our own vehicle, one that we could also sleep in, cook our own meals in, vacation in. The rest is history!
However, the RV shopping process is not easy and required a lot of research. I want to share what I have learned along with my ongoing experiences and adventures through my channel which offers:

Hello, It is located on what they call "Florida's forgotten coast" about 2 hours from Tallahassee. You can really enjoy your time in the great outdoors without any crowds.

The derelict board walk there in the dunes was a result of damage from hurricane Elena in 1985. I was living in Apalach then.

The camping at the state park by Port St. Joe is open. It's hard to get reservations though. I was able to camp there the first week it opened and book it for 4 days in May.

We have been there a couple of times. Love the proximity to Apalachicola. Mosquitoes can be unbearable during the summer months!

This place was beautiful I rode my bike around it a couple of years ago. Rangers said they are booked out solid. Were you able to get a spot with short notice or booked long ago?
Hello Ozzie, I believe this state park does tend to be pretty booked up. We were lucky to snatch this campsite on short notice due to a cancelation. I was so excited that it offered the opportunity to do some stargazing! Thanks for watching!

The best sunset I ever saw was 08/14/2003 on the ferry from CT back to Long Island.. the NE blackout was that day so the sunset over the waters with no light pollution was amazing.
2nd best was 2014 at a Campground on the shore of Lake Superior in the UP of Michigan
Ruby, are the primitive sites walk-up only or can you drive a 4x4 there?
They are walk-up only, but definitely worth the walk as they are very private with awesome views. Thanks for Watching!
@@Adventure-Mom dang, I heard a rumor that Peters Point off the coast of Jax may be opening back up to campers on the beach! That is one of my favorites! Nothing like camping directly on a beach!
This place is a bad call! Way better beaches/ restaurants elsewhere in Florida.
