I am not in landscaping or snow removal industry but I heard you mention calcium. So naturally I had to google why you may be choosing that over salt. Melting temps. Thanks for another great video. I typically get some education and extra knowledge out of your videos. Plus I love the homestead vids as well. Hope to own my own woods one day. Love from the Pacific Northwest. Hey Shawn, those snow plow shovels ARE the best. I think I mentioned them to you guys in a comment a couple of years ago. They do have one weakness to them though. Where they screw the d handle and shovel head to the fiberglass handle, the handle will break up around the screws after a while of using. They added an insert inside the yellow handle to help fix but it only lasts for so long. Easily fixed though, pull the yellow handle out of the shovel and d handle use some good two part epoxy in both spots and reassemble. You'll be good to go for years even the way you use them. Don't worry about not being able to replace parts as you will not need to.

When I drove a plow truck in my younger days, my boss called any snowfall âpennies from heavenâ. Maybe so, but even with a good truck and plow setup, that is some very strenuous work!

We ended up with around 22â of snow with the high winds. Finally wrapped up the plowing and salting this morning.
You signed up for it. When i take on accounts I look at it as of we get a storm that last a week or get 2 3 feet can I keep up with it? We all can do 30 huge lots with little 3 inch storms and keep up and have time to rest. But when we get these big ones it needs to be taken in effect when giving a bid. So many around me will take on 30 huge lots becosue most the time we only get 3 to 6 inncu storms. But when we get slammed they can't keep up they can't even get to them all in a timely manner. And end up loosing clients. I only take on what I'm confident and comfortable with. Imo you are taking on way to much Plowing for your 2 trucks. 3 inch storms your good but this shit kills you.

Happens every year here. Ever have 10 dead batteries? Flat tires in -30? Frozen salt that doesnât work for a week? 1â of ice before a storm? 24â storms? Plow mounts or bolts just snap? Wheels freeze up? It happens. It will happen.

Give those plows a spray with fluid film ! Itâll help that snow from sticking on them.
Take this as you wantâŠclear around the dock lock by hand, also, where the drive tires on the tractor trailers sit while on the dock is probably one of the most important spots to clear.
