- Is July in Edinburgh hot? Rainy? Humid? Well, kinda all of those things all at once but keep watching to hear more info on how to prepare for Edinburgh summer weather, events and other curveballs nature might throw at you! You might even learn what a good Scottish heatwave feels like!
Also stay around for a chunky amount of b-roll of Edinburgh's beautiful sunsets, historical centre and our latest artsy city neighbours, the Zoo's GIRAFFE TRAIL!

What is UP my notification squad peeps? Hope you're having a fun summer and already planning your next big trip to Scotland - or, if local, you are taking in Edinburgh in all its surprisingly toasty glory!
One thing I realised I didn't talk you through is the Edinburgh Zoo Giraffe trail, which you can also see in a Reel on my Kakiblog IG account! It's up until the end of summer and a fun little activity to do especially if you're coming with kids, or even just if you're a fan of local artists! .)
We just got back from 2 days in Edinburgh and did the usual tourist stuff- the castle, royal mile, museum...etc. but the most impressive place we went was the Royal Botanical Garden Edinburgh- a huge park full of beautiful flowers and trees, winding paths, demonstration gardens, and small crowds. Best of all, it is free (the glass houses may cost but they were closed due to the heat). Keep up the good work and thank you for your advice about visiting this beautiful city.
I love the botanics! What a stunning place, and as you say, being free to enter makes them all that more fantastic as a spot to avoid crowds! Glad to hear you've had an amazing time .)
That little red police box coffee shop is right next to the Airbnb we stayed at in June! Awww I miss it!!! ❤️
Do you recall the Airbnb you booked ?
We're coming up on the end of the monthly roundups do if you'd like us to continue doing stuff like this please let us know :)
Might be interesting to hear what other think could make a nice monthly series!
Have a Thumbs Up, from me :D. Very interesting indeed. That heat is just nope, they are temps we'd get here in Melbourne. Just not on, lol. It sounds lovely overall though (not that heat, but the town this time of year). I'm looking forward to taking in the various festivals, culture and wot not. And lol, I had wondered about the umbrella thing given I've heard it's a windy place. I guess I'll send mine to umbrella heaven (does that sound sinister? Not to worry, I'm totally well adjusted). Ahhhhh b-roll, always gives a nice flavour of a city. Thanks for your continued efforts to tell us about your beloved adopted city, you're doing great 👍.
Your best pretty footage of Edinburgh segment yet. You showed all the reasons to love Edinburgh just perfectly. Enjoy your channel very much. 🙋♀️🏴♥️
Thank you so much! I gotta say I've really enjoyed working with that footage myself, and that says something haha. All this summery light has really been making Edinburgh look extraordinarily dreamy!
@@Kakibot as if I needed anymore encouragement that Edinburgh is dreamy…then along comes this video 🤣♥️ I’m such a weirdo - I spend far too much time daydreaming about moving to Edinburgh 🤦♀️🤷♀️🏴🥰 Sure, perhaps a monthly roundup of what’s been happening would continue to make for informative videos….then there’s always the weather 🤣
Ooh, an "exoskeleton of street food" sound so compelling. Love it! We're hoping to check it out next summer!
Hi Kat, thanks for the info. Can't wait to view the September edition you mentioned as we are visiting your country then. Maybe we will bump into you and Simon at one of those cool coffee shops you've talked about.
i'm new to your channel and enjoying it! We are visiting Edinburgh for the first time in early July and I have another question about the weather. By chance did you make this video in 2022 during that big European heatwave? We were at the Artic Circle in Finland that year and it was almost 90 degrees F! I packed for highs in the 60s which was supposed to be their normal1 Anyway, I am trying to figure out what to pack for this year's trip to Scotland, and not sure if I should prepare for rainy weather in the 60s or another heatwave that could go up to 90! Sorry about the temps expressed in Fahrenheit. It is what I am used to and I don't do well converting it without a calculator.
Greatful for this video, I will be there, this coming July.
Thanks Kat, I wish this had not been one of the missing months on the list since I visited in July. But I see I was so Lucky that the weather was almost perfect during the week I visited. Your other videos where of great help, especially the tip on no umbrellas 😁.
Im planning to visit Edinburgh In July i hope it's raining 🌧️
Great video as ever Kat! Have you done a vid on Jupiter Artland? You should definitely do one if you haven't already. Keep up the good work👍😊
Aah thank you! Jupiter Artland is on my list! Might be perfect to run away from the summer crowds 😬
@@Kakibot Yes definitely. There's so many good photo opportunities. It's an IG'er paradise!
Also the private garden of landform architect/ earth engineer Charles Jencks ( who is responsible for the sculpted ponds at Jupiter Artland) called 'The Garden of Cosmic Speculation', opens only ONE day a year in May! If you grab tickets for it - Its fascinating! I can highly recommend it! 🤩
Excited for your September video! I'm planning to have my wedding in Edinburgh during the month of September.
Can’t think of a better month for a wedding!!
Thank you so much for the wonderful insites and recommendations! I love all of your videos and your Etsy shop is amazing! I would love to know where you find all of your spectacular patterned shirts!
Hi Kat! Hope you’re doing well! I’m out here in California and we’ve experienced temps in the 120’s when I was living in the High Desert here in Cali. Hoping the temps will be much better there in September! We’re coming to Edinburgh for the first time on Sept. 6th and I cannot wait! Hope to bump into you 😄
Oooh you’re gonna love the temperatures here! September is usually really fresh and pleasant ✨ if you do see us around absolutely do say hi!
I have fallen in love with Edinburgh just from seeing it on CZcams including your videos, so I cannot wait to see it in person in Sept! Looking forward to your September video, seen all the others ❤️ Thanks, Kat & Simon! Keep ‘’em coming!
1:48 It wasn't 42 degrees. It was 40.3°C.
Another great video :)
Thanks Craig! Always appreciate you stopping by the comment section
I love your channel. Will be in Edinburgh mid Oct to late Oct..any food pubs or activities not mentioned before?? TIA
And hello nice country 👍👌🤗
Let me just say that you choose the best OST for your videos. Seriously! Also, can I ask you, how do you stay fit? Or it's too much to ask and you're like a French lady and never talk about it? :)
I think I'm very average when it comes to fitness levels haha! But life in Edinburgh seems to be good for getting a lot of steps in, plus I feel like it's all just one never ending hill! x)
@@Kakibot yeah, I remember Edinburgh quite hilly :)
We're visiting in September. Hoping for good weather but below 25 C 😅🤞. (Sweating our butts off in Gernany right now 😪...). Btw, if you read this by any chance, could you share what brand/model your glases are? I'm so curious for a while now because I'm looking for some just like that but can't find the right ones😔.
Cheers, Eve ✌️
Hey Eve! These glasses are from a Scottish brand called Iolla - they have a boutique at St James quarter and are very affordable! You should pay them a lil visit while in Edinburgh! .)
@@Kakibot Thanks so much! :) I'll definitely check them out. Would be a pretty nice souvenir 😎
Hi Kathy! Love your work. I’m coming this September looking for your September review but can’t find it. Please help!🙁 thank you ☺️
Hey Phillip! Unfortunately September edition is THE one video that we still have to shoot, so that will be coming out towards the end of Sept '22!
Hi Kat :) unrelated but is that beautiful hair your natural color? I love it 🤩
It is! .) thank you ❤️
Where is this bench in 6:47? 😍
That’s between Scott’s monument and the gallery buildings .)
Hello beautiful 🌹💞🏵️
