I like this tank, it's a perfect footnote to the german mid-tier experience. Well-rounded, the same beautiful gun, and enough armor to get the job done but not enough to save you.

This is what the Panther actually was supposed to be which was sufficent at the time, but then the mustache man wanted it with more armour.
Also the drive train was designed for a 30 tonn tank not 45tonns the additional strain is obvious

@@user-tu4un9zl5f for the turret, they could even went for the Schmalturm(the ones used by Panther F and 2) and made it even cheaper, the Schmalturm turret has less shapes in it while being roomy enough that you could even probably fit a 88 from the tiger 1.

4:00 It's simply because of the camouflage. The VK without camouflage is completely grey, the Panther isn't. It's really easy to see the difference

This tank is by far my favorite in the game. It feels like what I imagine a medium tank would feel like, still bouncing many shots, good mobility, punchy gun.
Second: Uptiering this thing actually wouldn't do anything to normal gameplay. In nearly all situations, a player is going to be using 5.3-5.7 vehicles with it anyways, but those ALWAYS get uptiered to 6.3 due to player volume, so you'd be using it in a full uptier regardless of what you put it at.
For people that look to Phly for tactics: This really isn't the greatest use of the VK. I find that the best way is increase sneak skill to 100 and camp somewhere with your armor facing where you expect enemies to appear from but at a slight angle, a bit less than a Tiger II angle. The VK's engine in idle is insanely quiet, but turning it off completely is not a terrible idea either as the turret isn't a powered turret - in either case, you are nearly undetectable and your gun does plenty of damage. If you get bored, go for some sneaky brawling by hiding in shadows and around corners. Play this thing like the ninja of tanks.
Also: Enemies who do know you're a VK decide to aim for your upper frontal plate. In many cases, it just bounces...giving you an easy kill as your gun is enough to go through the fronts of pretty much every enemy you'll find that way (By some way or another - even M4A3E2s and the like have the machine gun port weakness that is easily exploited by the Panther cannon).
And finally: In my opinion, the Panther A isn't the best Panther, but rather the Panther F, due to the rangefinder and still decent mobility and turret rotation speed.

Hey Phly YOUR BACK. Awesome, did you see all panthers including the jagdpanther have been dropped to 600 HP and 46 km/hr. They're a little more sluggish now.
I’d say this prototype is a perfectly medium tank,actual Panther however was a heavy tank with the mobility of a medium tank, also got utilised as a medium tank.
I'd say Panther is an MBT... it really looks like a T-72 to me... it has all frontal armor... zero side armor... nice mobility... forward... but no reverse speed at all lol

That target prioritization with those two Shermans is something I've always had to work on. After firing on the M-51 I would've most likely stayed on it even if I noticed the other one coming up, which would mean they'd see me fire and get me before I could reload.
Just wrestled with a Panther F today using my M4A1(76)W or as Oddbawz calls it "The Big Cat Hunter'' .. rook his gunner , loader, and comander out in one shot... he proceeded to try and ram me .. but my sherman somehow had enough horsepower to push him back and shot him in the turret ring and kill the dude ...best fight ive had and i was laughin maniacally while doing so 🤣🤣

the shovel and the dig-out pack or whatever its called and the tank tracks on the back half of the Panter D is pretty much the one way to for sure tell between the 2 tanks I mean it is proto-type the panther was built on, no? Plus the Camos are different so that kind of gives it a way as well. Also the Vk30.02 has that ladder on the side of the tank that hangs down on the left-hand side.

From around 7.45 it's a realistic demonstration. Try to play to it's long range strength, get shot by someone with better monitor. Then avoid pixel sniping with a very long, very boring drive, while the team is busy losing.

Dont focus on the grind just play what you want also pay attention to the map, and try coming up with flank routes. Last thing don't play when pissed off decreases preformance.
@@QuackCrac I had an even longer reply (unbelievable, I know) typed out but it's just not worth it. I've gotten to top tier, I have had a 2.0+ KDA for the past year, it doesn't matter. There is a laundry list a mile long of how the game is frustrating -- designed SPECIFICALLY to frustrate you at times, and other times frustrates you whether or not that was the intention. Bespoke disposable drone revenge missiles to ruin everyone's day and prevent good positioning from paying off, 1.0 BR spread and refusal to decompress or lower the spread so you are intentionally frustrated by dying to BMPs and Leopards in your Sherman and hopefully want to grind more and then get impatient and spend money on the game.
The list just goes on for pages and pages. I could seriously write a book about how poorly they have designed every single thing other than the core "vehicle shoots another vehicle and then it procedurally models damage and shows you an x-ray replay of the hits" lightning in a bottle game engine.
I have played thousands and thousands of games. I'm not new and I don't have a skill issue. I know at least two rollouts and the points of first contact at match start for every map except the newest couple of maps since I almost completely stopped playing for the last few months. I know flank routes. I have three nations spaded up to rank 5 and one I've grinded out to top tier. I play what I want. The game is just infuriating.

The VK3002 is definitely under tiered. I have been facing them all week in my T5.0 lights and meds from Swed, Ital, and American trees and they are nasty. Much worse than panthers due to their mobility and the armour just works, despite how "thin" it is. I feel like it could easily sit in 5.3, or even do well in 5.7 if it was a light with spotting abilities, and maybe a small mobility boost.

Well Phly, you have to play the 2S38. The full on Russian bias machine that came from a pt 76-57s tryst with a PUMA.
They decreased the Panther A’s speed so that the VK would be relevant. The Panther A used to be a beast with 55 km/h, but they moved it down and now the VK has 55 km/h
