      MLK was a different story, as he was a civil rights activist in a time where racial segregation and racism were still strong. The assassination was most likely because he was a black man bringing people together.

      Sure he was an actor but was he really that talented? Would he have risked his career being an assassin if it was that great? You have to be really talented to be a Karen. Like Whoopi Goldberg who's real name is Caryn Johnson. She is one of just 15 entertainers to an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Another good example is Emmy-winning television producer Caryn Mandabach. For years she produced both The Cosby Show and Roseanne for competing networks at the same time. Her producing credits include That 70's Show, Third Rock From the Sun and Nurse Jackie.

      First of all, the coronavirus is a pandemic, not a epidemic. Second, a genocide is a completely different from a epidemic/pandemic. A genocide is when a person/people kill people because of their race, religion, etc while a epidemic/ pandemic is a disease that kills lots of people (a pandemic is a killing disease around the world will a epidemic is a killing disease in a certain area of the world). It doesn't matter if the coronavirus is deadly or not, it is not a genocide.

      Pp N WWI led to WWII. Germany was in debt and desperate, leading to adopt Hitler and Nazism. So the assassination of Franz Ferdinand did basically cause WWII, you could even say it influenced the wars against communism.

    • @Nirvanafor4ever
      @Nirvanafor4ever Před 9 lety +6

      RogueDemonZ Following your logic we could track the cause of WW1 down to the Middle Ages. The Nazis and the Germans military rise was because of the Treaty of Versailles, which was too strict and they couldn't live with it. That was the main reason for WW2.

    • @RogueDemonZ
      @RogueDemonZ Před 9 lety +7

      Pp N It is a heavy tie; a catalyst for the wars. And this list is about the assassinations, I believe Franz Ferdinand's death had the most dramatic effect. Now you could say that Caesar's death might have actually made a bigger difference, but only because that event's butterfly effect has lasted two millenia.

    The list in the right order
    *#1* Archduke Ferdinand - Immediately resulted in one of the largest blood baths in world history.
    *#2* Julius Caesar - Significantly changed the political spectrum
    *#3* JFK - America (the world's largest superpower at the time) went to crap after his assassination. Start of when America was really put into fear and really began US police state is some ways.
    *#4* Gandhi - Important historical figure who showed that change can come through peace. His death was sad and a lot of people gathered but his movement was still successful. His death didn't have any world changing impacts other than the loss of a great man.
    *#5* MLK - More significant than Lincoln and less significant than JFK in terms of assassination effects on America. In a lot of ways his movement was a big success but if he stayed around a bit longer he could've had an even bigger impact.
    *#6* Lincoln - Sure he had a large role in keeping the country together. However towards his death the country was already in the process of becoming normal and stabilized again.
    *#7* Benazir Bhutto - Death lead to destabilization of the area at the time and showed that Al Queda was still a threat to people living in Northern Africa.
    *#8* Malcolm X - Significantly important part of history but King was much more successful especially since he Malcolm was much more aggressive. No large historical event really took place after his death.
    *#9* John Lennon - While extremely popular and one of the first people you think of when it comes to assassinations, John's death slightly effected the music industry but only at the time.
    *#10* Phillip II of Macedon - Honestly don't know much about Phillip II.

      Quinton Doucet Well, Franz Ferdinand's assassination sparked WWI, which was resolved with the Treaty of Versailles. The Treaty of Versailles was choking the life out of Germany, which led to Hitler and the Nazis taking power, which led to WWII. WWII Split Europe into two different regions, East and West. And, Indirectly, this schism in the continent of Europe led to the rise of teh Soviet Union to become a super-power, which spawned the cold was, which was comprised of numerous proxy wars.
      The death of Julius Caesar led to a new wave of political ideology that persists to this day.
      The Death of President John Kennedy rose tensions in teh cold war even higher than before, and was a nation-wide tragedy. For a long time after his death, the world was watching to see what would happen next.

      ***** There was alot of tension at the time yes. but it wouldnt have ended in a world war if it wasnt for that murder. It would have ended is alot of smaller wars like there have been before. then ww2 wouldnt have happened cause hitler would never have gotten the national support that he had gotten cause of germany`s defeat. then nato wouldnt have been made cause they were made cause of ww2. then Wernher von Braun wouldnt have made it to the U.S.A and then russia would have made it to the moon first or more likely germany. Then albert einstein and niels bohr wouldnt have fled to the U.S.A and the atomic bomb (if it was still going to be build cause that was also cause of ww2) would have been german. Who knows how the world had looked today if he hadnt died when he did. even if you say that it was only the final spark needed. maybe without that spark all this wouldnt have happened. the rest of the assassinations things would have changed maybe even major things. but nothing to be compared to Ferdinand. He`s assassination was simply the most important in history maybe even one of the most important moments in our history.

  • @Parker8752
    @Parker8752 Před 8 lety +732

    Given that the death of Franz Ferdinand started the first world war, his assassination may be the most important in the 20th century. I say that largely because the first world war was the beginning of the modern world as we know it. The idea that war is a bad thing, rather than merely a tool that a nation may use to achieve its goals, didn't become mainstream until that war. Without the treaty of Versailles that ended the first world war, it's entirely probable that the second world war would never have happened. Without the second world war, Britain would have remained a global superpower and America would never have become one. Given how much of modern technology was developed during second world war and the cold war that followed, one can only wonder what kind of world we would live in today had Franz Ferdinand not been assassinated.

      more influential to American society perhaps. While the Archeduke's death was certainly influential, it was merely a link in the chain of events. Numerous analyses of the year the world went mad show it would have happened anyway, even without his assassination. The great empires were falling, and the Concert of Europe was no longer able to maintain stability.

    For those saying Lennon shouldn't even be on the list, here's some things for you to consider.
    He was one of THE BIGGEST influences in music history, along with the rest of The Beatles. Not only with The Beatles was he influential though, but with his solo music. He's inspired many people, and his what about 'Imagine'? A BIG influence.
    Plus, he's a very big inspirational figure even nowadays. When he was assassinated, people who didn't even really KNOW what he was all about were devastated.
    Not only his music, but campaigns were respected as well.
    "War Is Over! If You Want It?"
    "Hair Peace"
    Teens on social media quote him to be inspirational all the time! If he wasn't all that popular, or if he doesn't deserve to be on the list, why do people still cry over his death? Why do people still try to carry out what he believed?
    Lennon's death was very influential in history. No doubt about it.

      Lazio2009 That's all he did, "scare the establishment." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. And that's not even why he was assassinated. He yelled Boo! and that was it. If we were talking about musicians who died, this would make more sense because that was his only big contribution. Simply, "scaring the man" doesn't count for shit when franz Ferdiand's death caused WW1, WW2, and basically every major conflict afterwards.

    Malcolm was the most impressive and effective civil rights leader, knew he would get assassinated by combined effort of CIA, FBI and some deranged gullible previous colleague, he went around the world , advocating human rights for the Afro Americans , in the Middle Eastern countries, in African countries and in England. The debate just a week or two before his death at the Oxford Union was just awe inspiring. He advocating civil rights and human rights to be instituted here and now, can't wait any longer approach, by any means possible, all that left with no choice to those politicians of those days, but to immediately act , to give human rights to the human beings that were deprived of their rights for 4 centuries.!!!.
    Amazing achievement of Malcolm and his Mentor Elijah and those he mentored too, including Mohammad Ali. They were an amazing 3 Musketeers. Malcolm, Elijah and Mohammad Ali.

I’m Jewish so obv Neo Nazis hate me. But I’d rather make peace with them and change their ways instead of killing them. Teach them love and respect.

    Benazir Bhutto stayed in a Hotel where I was working security, she hired me and another guy to escort her to a conference she was speaking at. We all went in the same limo. We were placed on different sides of the stage, hidden by curtains. She seemed very pleasant. I was very young, maybe 22, and I was unaware of the danger she was in. I was also blissfully ignorant of the danger I was putting myself in!
