My Father was Born there and a nicer person, you could not meet. It is a place that I must visit, it looks stunningly Beautiful and the people all seem so genuine and friendly. Stay safe saints.
Brings back the fondest memories. Visited this beautiful island two years ago - and every word is true. Came there for the nature, remember it most for the people.
My great grandpa's mother was from Saint Helena Island. He played a huge part in my upbringing and he always told me that his mom comes from here. Randomly, thought about him today and did some research. The people look similar to South Africans. I need to visit someday❤ Joseph Peter Martin. Miss you always❤

How i miss the people of st helena. I wish you all well treasure all my memories. I hope with all these excellent short videos the island will prosper. Bless you all.
I really would like to go to st Helena they seem such genuine people, years ago I was drinking in my local someone was standing next to my having a beer and couldn't help listening to his accent it seemed strange to me part mild south African, abit of kewi some Pompey from Portsmouth even Irish a whole mish mash of accents in there, the man himself his mannerism were British or Irish but his skin tone was like someone from southern Italy, in my mind I thought he was someone from the south coast of England who had either travelled or worked for many years in a hot country, so being nosey I ask where he was from, he said he was a saint which confuses me and then said st Helena ,he had come to meet his daughter where l lived, what a very interesting and friendly man he was never forget it
Such an interesting accent. I've never heard where said in two syllables before. Sadly I can't find a good video about the accent itself, but it's fascinating.
It's a unique twang & dialogue!👍🏼😂, that's been passed down through the generations of my Family, our Saints & of course my ancestors.😃. I think it's due to the many different nations who invaded it, landed there, tried to own it but inhibited there instead or moved on throughout the years! I find it fascinating & enjoyable at the same time xx
I was looking for a comment like this. I actually came to this video after reading a history book that spoke of its ties to my country, South Africa. I was curious to find out how their accent sounds too😅 Looking for any similarities to our accents over here.
My only issue with living on an island, especially a remote island like mid Atlantic or mid Pacific islands is the availability of healthcare. As we get older, i’m 76 with huge medical issues, what do the older Saints do. It must be heartbreaking to leave such a beautiful place.
Hi Saints. My dream is to come visit the birth place my great grandfather. He was Mr George and he had a sister who also moved to South Africa. Sadly that is all we know about him. We know his sister's descendants who now live in Australia as do we
My maternal grandmothers ancestry is from here and linked to South africa too. Since slaves were also brought from Madagascar and India to St. Helena it mean that I might have either Malagasy or Indian ancestry too. Could there be probably intermarriage between british and slave populations as you can see from the people? Also tracing my ancestry.
Happy New Year Saints from Jackson, Mississippi, U.S. Welcome the marine biologist from the Georgia State Aquarium who makes his annual trip when the whale sharks are swimming. See you someday.
My family heritage goes back to St Helena, I'm trying to trace my family history back. My great grandmother was named Dorothy Isaacs and she was born in the 1920s. Her mother was named Ruby Senardes (could be incorrect spelling). Can anyone please help with any advice or information. I would greatly appreciate this as it means alot to me. I'm also looking got someone to exchange letters with like a penpal from the island. I look forward to visiting the island one day, I feel a part of me is there somehow. Many thanks, Craig.
Man if they would give me two free acres and a small Grant to build a house I would do it and I would start a local business that would really help and especially it would help the youth. I hope you guys see this cuz I'll move out there ASAP 😂😂😂.... TOTALLY SERIOUS THOUGH 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😐😐😐😐😎😎😎😎
This island has the WILDEST accent i've ever heard. Seems so nice. Would definitely visit for a few months at least
😂 as a Bermudian I will say this the frst time I'm heard someone else who sounds like us. I love it ❤
Everyone's accent is different from one another
I grew up in Coconut Grove (Miami) in the 1950’s. It was wonderful. Saint Helena now reminds me of Coconut Grove in the 1950’s.
Wow! What a mix of race/creed/ethnic backgrounds! And those unique accents! I find these tiny island nations fascinating
I can't wait to move to St. Helena in August 2021! I'm so excited to be part of such a lovely community :)

We would not worry about C19. Worry more about the social media virus or TB or leftist politics. Those are far worse.

Looks like a beautiful place but as an Irishman far too many Union Jack's to frighten me and gives me bad memories.
That accent is bizarre

yes its good and sounds like a pirate talking
Over many generations 'saints' have their own dialect and many St Helenian accents also differ to each other.
They treated Napoleon like he was an animal.
Well.... he was
