Its useless to combat with Shotokan katas in kata competition since these other katas are so much more artistic.

Shotokan competitors were the most dominant kata competitors for the first three decades in the WKF. The winningest female kata performer in a shotokan stylist with 4 or 5 world titles.

@@barrettokarate So what happened after the first 3 decades? Goju ryu guys started compete in kata? Maybe Shotokan katas are harder to perform but in my opinion other katas just look much better, just compare Shotokan version of Chatanyra kusanku or many other katas. These are same katas but making them more circular movements brings some motion picture Matrix elements to them which just look cool.

@nipaipo36100 was obviously watching another kata bout. Kokumai wiped the tatami with Zapata. Plus her choice of kata was not smart. Matsumura bassai vs Papuren is like comparing a mouse with a tiger.

kokumai has a very strange form on her papuren and she really lacks of power. too bad the colombian girl had a misbalance because she has better skills.

Absolutely agree. Valentina crazy good performance, however that kansetsu was technically bad with huge misbalance. I also don't like Sakura's papuren, too many not clean technicuqes, unsettled elbows..
