    Thank you so much Tanner ❤ I'm really looking forward to checking the other videos out you mentioned. Not being able to walk is my issue too. My world has got pretty small and I miss walking for pleasure so much. I'm hoping i can start some gradual exposure with as much compassion as i can.

    Tanner, I can’t tell you enough how helpful your videos are to me. I have been dealing with different manifestations of neuroplastic pain for 60 years and your teachings have made the most sense to me. I am so grateful for your experience and your insight. Thank you.

    Thanks so much for this video! I'm struggling to walk, because my legs have gone "numb", painful and really weak since I got Covid almost two years ago. Some days I can walk up to 400 metres, very slowly and with many stops. I hope this will change 🙏🏻 and I am so grateful for all your videos and tips ❤️

    Thank you, Tanner! I very seldom have extra pain, since I've been watching you. No, my leg still isn't totally healed, but the worst the pain has gotten in the last few weeks is a 5 out of 10! It's healing MUCH faster than anyone thought it would!

      So sorry to hear what you are going through. It is difficult for me to make suggestions for your specific case, as I do not know it fully. I useful starting place is changing our thoughts, beliefs, and emotional response to the systems with brain retraining. I have several practices on theses!

    • @painpsychotherapy
      @painpsychotherapy  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Sorry to hear about your symptoms. When I have work with PEM, I support people in doing graded exposure while creating as much safety pre, during, and post exercise. Check out our videos on conditioned responses. I hope they can be helpful!

    Can symptoms be so intense it’s hard to speak ?
    Sometimes I have this come and go, the chest tightness and I can’t speak because it hurts

    • @painpsychotherapy
      @painpsychotherapy  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Yes, it is possible for neuroplastic symptoms to be very intense, as I personally experienced. Sorry to hear what you are going through. Of course it is important to have physical causes ruled out.

    • @carolebarton776
      @carolebarton776 Před 2 měsíci +1

      My main symptom is chest tightness also. I can speak okay but sometimes I feel like I have to work to breathe. I guess chest tightness is a classic symptom of anxiety.

    • @ezza1236
      @ezza1236 Před 2 měsíci

      Would you agree with this tanner ?
      It’s the most scary one I have lol it’s crazy how I could have it so intense at one point of the day and then completely gone a few hours later, a real structural issue wouldn’t do that with ur chest

    How long were you unable to walk for? And what made you sure you could heal?

    • @painpsychotherapy
      @painpsychotherapy  Před 29 dny

      For about the last year of my pain journey I barely walk. My hope I could heal was cultivated over several months, during this time I read books, watched CZcams videos, and gathered evidence to strengthen this belief.

    This intSeresting. What does somatic mean. I do send the wrong messages. I feel like I’ll never stop having back and sit bone pain. All day. I’m sitting on butt pain right now. So, Why am I sitting? What’s interesting is how stubborn and resistance and fear is at play here. I don’t sleep but a few hours from waking up in pain 😢

    • @painpsychotherapy
      @painpsychotherapy  Před měsícem +2

      So sorry to hear what you are going through. I hope my content can be helpful. Somatic means the focus is on sensations in the body, and not on thoughts and beliefs!

      Generally the focus is on how we are safe in the moment.

    • @lindaelawson9415
      @lindaelawson9415 Před měsícem +3

      "Some day" is some time in the future. Here, in the moment, you and your body are safe. Fear is almost always in the future. When we stop catastrophizing and projecting ourselves into the future, we can achieve calmness and provide safety for ourselves, our bodies, and our inner children.
