i have the zealot, and have been riding that for a long time and i love it, but i adore the look of the new zealot X and the specs are very enticing too
I have been a big fan of Backfire Boards for a couple of years now. I purchased a non-electric longboard from them several years ago, but for some reason I always look forward to seeing the electric longboards improve.

I've pulled the trigger on the zealot x, this will be my 4th backfire board. I had the original indiegogo board, then the G3 plus which was great but a bit of a harsh ride due to the hub motors but a great looking board. Then i had the original bouncy bamboo Zealot with 105 clouds, which I still love but the new zealot x looks so polished and refined i had to have
it. It's getting some new boosted 105s to complete the look. I would've considered the drainage wheels as I bet the ride is good but that chrome finish looks really cheap.

That Zealot X will definitely be my future choice of board. I dont think ill ever need to go over 30 mphs but that range is very good. Thats not even including potential dual battery mods that ppl would do.
Love love love the deck light. Please consider a RGB on a future version so we can pick a color from the remote.

I currently own a Zeus board Pro, I’m thinking about getting the BackFire Zealot X for the portability and the cool lights.

Let me just start by saying how amazing this board is, the build quality and attention to detail is a level above every board I've personally seen. However I do have a question I was hoping the community or Backfire themselves could help with. I've fitted 105mm boosted/Mad wheels (which actually measure 102mm!) The motor gear has 13 teeth and the wheel pulley gear has 37 teeth. A Backfire rep told me to set the gear ratio in the remote to 2.6 yet all the online gear ratio calculators say that the ratio should be 2.85:1. The closest setting in the remote to this either 2.8 or 2.9. Which one is going to be the most accurate and give the most accurate speed reading?
Do the gravity cast trucks on the S2 still use the same bushing shape and pivot cup as the forged trucks?

@@Sir-Kay I ended up upgrading to the X. It’s an amazing board… however they are stiff and not very “carvy” IF that is what you’re looking for this product might be tough sell in your use-case. However if you live somewhere with perfect roads and prioritize speed over handling, then this board is all you’ll ever need. I ended up selling mine as the stiffness made it vibrate too much on the pavement where I live. Hope this helped…

Hmmmm, yes make a Bustin Boards style mini. Actually a Landyachts Spectrum with a Landyachts Dingy tail with some 12S action. Use a flat battery enclosure like bustin boards. Need a mini with more torque but smaller street wheels

Probably 2.5kg more than your g2, you'll feel it quite a lot, the g2 is a super light board

My Eovan GTS Carbon "PRO" didn't even last 1500 miles.
I have my eyes on that Zealot X for sure... during their next discount.
2000 miles on the original battery? I have an Exway flex, and I’ve gone through 2 batteries in less than 700 miles. Not sure if it’s because of my weight (I way around 245 lbs) but I hope to find a board that’s more reliable. Also, the Exway locks the brakes and throws me off when I have the battery problems. Hoping a different brand will be safer to ride.
The 5255 motors can do much more power, I can see people swapping to a vesc and running 1200w per motor easily, which is good, and they'll stay really cool when using the stock power
I've been waiting for this release. There's nothing wrong with my original bamboo zealot but more power, yes please. Top speed is an important figure for me so i wish that'd been included in the video. Also some more information about the new drainage wheels. What are they for? Finally, you stated that you can now fit 120mm cloudwheels. Has this been made possible through wider trucks or has the ground clearance also increased? Many thanks.
You can run 120s on both the original zealot and zealot s the only issues is range drops a lot.
@@huntergibb1297 Im 75kg~ and got like 35km with clouds on with a freah board - might drop a lot in a few months like my backfire g3, but for now clouds are awesome, there was no way i could do it with normal wheels, my feet would fall off
@@tr4nsist0r92 ya I was gonna get clouds but after watching lots of videos mad wheels seem to be the better option and they can still be ridden on dirt paths like cloud wheels really easily if you had to or to cut through somewhere real quick, so mad 105s will be my next purchase for sure.
@@huntergibb1297 you wont regret it i switched from 105 cloud wheels to mad 105s and there was a huge improvement in comfort and grip and abit better battery life

You're not missing out on anything super important. For $150 more you could have gotten the LED light, a nicer remote, and 5 more miles of range.

Please stop with all the fancy lighting. It isn't classy and elegant like you think it is - it's corny and tacky. With an exception of some forward or rear facing lights for visibility, It's an absolute deal breaker for me to have all these attention grabbing lights everywhere. I just want a skateboard.
Simple - You can turn it off and keep the lights off if you want. Double click the power button on the remote.
